  1. Jdi731, my mom has autoimmune hepatitis. That's a rough one! Hope you stay healthy. I'm improving greatly I think. My white blood cell count decreased by 3000 in the last 24 hours. At 13k this morning. They'll let me outta here when it dips below 10k.
  2. I'm beginning to think I should stop being a "good" patient. Maybe encourage them to get rid of me.
  3. Day 427 of my hospitalization....oh wait...it has only been four days. I'm beginning to think they don't know what's going on with me. More CT scans today, white blood cell count consistently elevated. Officially I have " cellulitis" of the nose. But whatever caused the underlying infection appears to be a mystery. I'm now wishing I'd gone to a different hospital. I'm getting the "throw stuff at it til something works" approach to medicine..
  4. Just a quick update.. I'm still here. I might get to go home this afternoon, but I think thats just me being hopeful. I was diagnosed with diabetes yesterday. Hopefully I can manage it with diet and not have to leave here with any long term medication..
  5. Me too. Apparently there was some concern about brain involvement with this infection. My white blood cell count was still too high to get me outta here today. Unless I just get fed up and leave :banghead:
  6. Went to the doctor yesterday for a sinus infection and dizziness. Sounds simple enough..right? Except it wasn't. I was made a guest at the hospital and it looks like I'm here tonight also. Lesson learned? Avoid doctors
  7. The SAS Survival Guide is a good read. I'm also enjoying Cody Lundin's "When All Hell Breaks Loose-Stuff You Need to Survive When Disaster Strikes" It is geared toward urban survival in the wake of some sort of SHTF scenario.
  8. Directions: I-75 North to Exit 141. Take a right off the exit then another immediate right. Follow the road past the "adult" store and continue about a 1/2 mile until you see Flatwoods Road on the left. Flatwoods "road" is more like a trail(4x4 capable vehicle recommended). Follow the road about a mile and a half. The range parking lot will be on your left (and is clearly marked as such). Not sure if archery equipment is permitted or not. I've never seen anyone using anything but firearms.
  9. Hornady Critical Defense and Remington Golden Sabre have both ran great in my 1911s.
  10. Looks fun...as long as that fire keeps goin'
  11. Just to chime in.... I hadn't posted because I knew I couldn't make this one, but I'd love to be there if this happens again! I just happened to have school obligations I can't escape this weekend.
  12. I noticed that when watching vids on YouTube. That certainly is...different.
  13. Picked this Walther P1 up on "black Friday" from J&G Sales. They had them on sale for $249. What I received was an excellent condition Walther P1, manufactured in May of 1983 (my birth month and year!) This particular specimen also has the hex pin that was added in later production runs to strengthen the aluminum frame. The bore is bright and the gun is entirely cosmoline free. This was my first time buying from J&G and I'm really happy with this purchase! Time to load up on some standard pressure 9mm and go have some fun at the range. I already know not to use +P ammo. Who else has one of these? How do you like it?
  14. +1 Very good option for a 22lr if you need small and lightweight. My son really handles the Walther P22 nicely. They even come in tacticool camo patterns..if that matters.
  15. I've received both pm notifications and subscription notifications in the past day or so. Might try reinstalling the app if you haven't done so already.
  16. +1 Stay safe everyone. Happy Thanksgiving! ...and good luck to those who decide to go shopping Friday.
  17. I had to look at my RIA when I read this.. Sure enough...Pahrump. Never bothered to read what that said before now.
  18. I had a similar problem with mine failing to return to battery by about 1/4" or so. The extractor was too tight from the factory. Adjusted it a bit and it solved that problem. Mine doesn't feed some JHP properly with the factory mag. Swapping for a Wilson Combat mag solved the problem for me.
  19. If you believe the marketing material, Ruger claims it is 100% American made with components manufactured in the USA.
  20. Wow.. Those people are insane. I let my son shoot my "real" AR15 all the time. Guess I'd be in jail or some court mandated parenting class if we were in California.

    Smokers?

+1 I smoked a pack a day for a couple of years... moved to Swedish snus for a while. Good stuff and helped me ultimately kick the nicotine habit.
  22. C&R FFL holders aren't able to do transfers like a regular FFL. It's intended to be used for personal collecting activities by the C&R holder. Someone buying a C&R gun on your behalf with their C&R license might be perceived as "engaging in business" which is prohibited.
