  1. Just drove by. I couldn't get close since they had the entire highway blocked off still. I really hate this for the GnL guys. It's like "how much bad luck can one guy have!"
  2. Thanks guys. The biggest problem I had was actually seeing the target clearly at 100 yards. I couldn't tell sometimes if I was aiming dead center or not. Contact Lenses are okay but I wish I'd had my glasses for this one.
  3. Finally got out to the range to sight in my rifle. Boy did we have fun. This was sighting in the iron sights at 100 yards. I can't wait to get a red dot sight. On the second group, I had adjusted the front sight the wrong way and compensated back up on the third group. I'm not a terribly good shot at 100 yards with the iron sights but did the best I could. Hopefully this is zero'd in well enough. My first rifle and first time zeroing one.
  4. Yeah, I wouldn't mention it out loud other than on this forum.
  5. My wife and I went to Opry Mills this weekend. Because we remembered seeing legal posting there before the flooding, we disarmed before going in. We didn't see a single legal sign as described by TCA as best we understand it. All we saw was a Code of Conduct inside the entrance on the walls which discusses many things. Here's what it has to say: Intro Statement: "Opry Mills, including its parking area, is private property. In order to make your visit, and that of your fellow shoppers, a pleasant one, we ask you to follow this Code of Conduct." Statement 6: "No weapons, including but not limited to firearms, knives, or any other object(s) that may be used in any way to inflict bodily injury on another person." Closing Statement: "Persons who violate this Code of Conduct may be banned from the property or subject to arrest. The shopping center expressly retains the right to revise or modify these rules as necessary." It seems to me that this would not apply to HCP holders since it doesn't conform to TCA postings required to prohibit HCP holders. Worst that could happen is being banned from the property?
  6. I received a new holster from Alan at Aholster Saturday. It is right. I'm kinda wondering if the first holster didn't accidentally get made for a G26 rather than a G19. Even though we never discussed shipping costs, when I opened the box tonight there was $6 inside the holster to cover the costs. That's service right there. I'm still amazed at how well his holster design conceals a handgun in a OWB carry mode. There is almost zero difference between concealability wearing the Aholster compared to my Tucker Answer or a Comp-Tac MTAC/Spartan. If you're looking for a comfortable, concealable OWB holster you really owe it to yourself to give this a try. And, they're made right here in Tennessee.
  7. Guns & Leather. There are a couple of people I do business with there who have always been friendly. It's also the closest shop to me.
  8. Ya! It will be a little bit before I get out to a rifle range but I can't wait! This particular rifle was just calling out to me. I could have built one like it from the Sport probably but, well, I "wanted" this one.
  9. Well, I really hate to disappoint the expectations for a SW Sport. I went a different route. I'm very thankful for all the help Dolomite gave and for letting me call him on the phone. I brought this home today. I doubt it was a bad decision. A couple of pistol trade-ins (they never got shot) gave me more funds than I thought I had originally. I studied the variants for several hours and what I would want and settled confidently on this solution.
  10. TMF, Dolomite, I appreciate solid information like that and you guys taking the time to type all that out. This is very helpful for a newb like me.
  11. Cool beans. I hope to find out the pricing I can get tonight. If its as low as I hope I'm seriously considering a Daniel Defense. Otherwise I will heed all of this advice on dressing up a Sport. There's always the possibility of a Colt if the Sport simply isn't available. I've heard that supplies are beginning to tighten and as the election nears, this will only get worse and cause prices to increase too. I don't want to get stuck waiting for that atmosphere to dissipate so the time to move on something is now, assuming the market info I hear is accurate.
  12. Dolomite, what do you think about the Smith 811053? http://shopdandtarms.net/magpul-556mm223-remington-inch-barrel-melonite-finish-buttstock-grips-matte-black-polymer-finish-p-43453.html?OBNsid=e1934856ae9a183064e96887f3eb773a
  13. I'm also getting the FFLs pricing on the LE6920 and LE6920MP-B in Colt. Depending on how the pricing comes in I may spring for a Colt. That's the only other recommendation I consistently get from a broad spectrum of folks.
  14. Dolomite, I can't thank you enough for your assistance. I found another thread you provided a ton of information on for this same subject and all I can say is it's great to have such resources available! I'm going to try to get my hands on a Sport this weekend if my brother in law's FFL can't get one quickly. Then I'll need some recommendations on optics and accessories. I like the look of the Magpul hand guards and forward grips.
  15. So, my budget is around $900-$1000. My brother in law has a friend who is a FFL and can get me the rifle at dealer cost. With that in mind, is there another model I should be looking at from Daniel Defense, S&W, Bravo, etc.? Just trying to be wise with this purchase. It's a lot of money for me.
