  1. Thread-surrection!!   http://www.wsmv.com/story/27378637/developers-to-present-plans-for-bellevue-center     Does anyone know if Crosland Southeast has a Cabelas in any of their other developments?   :hopeful:
  2. I have never seen us communicate so efficiently.  speechless.   :)
  3. http://www.cnn.com/2014/11/11/us/ferguson-brown-parents-u-n-/index.html?hpt=hp_t2 Regardless of the circumstance, I can always feel empathy for a parent's loss. Though: When someone dangles a carrot in front of you -enticing you to step forward and eat it, you should always ask yourself what the "dangler" intends to do with you... and the half-eaten carrot (you didn't think you were going to get the whole thing, did you?) Discuss.... or don't.
  4. https://www.google.com/maps/@36.1488746,-86.8645556,3a,75y,354.1h,91.33t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1s_mQ3aM0GlXX7zEzM9Ocrwg!2e0!6m1!1e1     this matches the given address for them.  I, too, hope they get their financial forecast right.  That is an expensive property, and building out a range is an expensive project.....  whew.
  5.     Well, I would say that a true "conservative" must be a centrist.  What is being touted as conservative these days is certainly extreme - not conservative.
  6. Does he have any interest?  Is he quick witted enough to avoid Quale, Perry, or Biden-isms?     They have the money, and he seems like he can be agreeable with just about anyone in the same room with him.  The next question shouldn't matter, ... but it does.  I don't know how tall he is.... but I can't remember the last time we elected a president under 6'.   Anywho - regardless of who it is, Tennessee would do well to have a POTUS from the modern era,... and our country would do well to have an effective, if not flashy, conservative (non-nut-job) POTUS.   allright,,... now that I've opened the can, what do you think?
  7. ^^^. and... "We are from the planet duplo, and we are here to destroy you."
  8. anyone tried Clayton James by Tenn South? smooth sweet and curvy. :)
  9. Regardless of how you feel about the Republicans that won, the election went better for conservative governing than any in the last 2 full cycles. That is good. If anyone wants the new Majority in the Senate to ride Cowboy over the Democrats,... you need to go make a pendulum, -- pull it back and watch it swing for a while. The only way to stop the liberal freight train is to dampen the motion of that pendulum. Any Republican cowboy-ing now is energy in their batteries down the road. We need to play the game smart, not hard. That requires great political skill, impeccable face-to-face respect, firm goals and a good bit of sacrifice. Any other way keeps playing into the hands of the money-grubbing media machine - which make their money by polarizing the market and playing to the extremes. They are farming media consumers at the expense of the our future. Helpful politics aren't 100% of what anyone wants.
  10. I think it's just you, 3D!  Truman. Show.
  11.      If anything horrible does happen at a Kroger while MDAGS is parading this around, the blame will lay directly at the feet of MDAGS.  While lauding their own agenda and working to bring themselves in the spotlight, they have dragged a corporation into a spotlight and thus elevated the "target value" of Kroger and Kroger customers for deranged attention-seekers.  It's a free country, so shout away, MDAGS.  If I were legal counsel for Kroger, I would advise working political, legal, and financial back-channels to make MDAGS go away and wish they had never picked on the corporation.   How many murders committed by law-abiding citizens have occurred on Kroger property in Kroger's history?  Answer: none.  Murder, attempted murder, assault... all are crimes.
  12. also - check out:   http://www.myfishingforecast.net  (solunar calendar)   It really is as simple as a good spot + worms or minnows on a hook = :)   I talked to a guy yesterday who was catching crappie at 14inches in about 3-6 feet of water - on night crawlers.   ... of course, I was fishing for Bass.
  13. Motor-cross motorcycle?  ... brings me back to night travels via foot.
  14.      A Mindset that is looking ahead to when that vehicle ceases to serve the mission (keep you & yours alive & well) and has a clear definition of what that point in time looks like.  I fail to see how useable such a desirable "Target" would be.  I would rather be a part of a large, large group.  Such a group would have the human resources available to deploy and retain such an asset.  Single family in a "situationally attractive" resource... ?  Dead meat.        If it was a true SHTF, things would be liquid and true knowledge of your surroundings, threat levels, etc. would be very, very low.  "contact" is the only way you would gain knowledge of others' intent.  I'm sure there are quite a few who have patrolled in mixed (friendly/foe) societies who can tell us how "fun" that is.        If you are looking to survive the worst of the worst, you would need mini-civi-platoons, covering expertise in the important areas: medicine, mechanical, agriculture, psychology/leadership, and, of course, kick-buttkiss.  Discipline and buy-in will be the key to keeping "utopia" from unravelling, so psychology/leadership may be the most important piece.   With that said, if all that is in place, I would think a Marauder (or two) would be a nice addition.  :)   If I'm building it?  ..Toyota frame and drive-train.  light armor for the passengers, heavy armor for the fuel tank and engine bay.
  15. I've found even the good stores are hit and miss sometimes.  I've also been surprised when the "bad ones" pull a rat out of a hat sometimes (or is it rabbit?).     If I'm having trouble, I usually look for the guy who wants to talk and ask him about "x".  I don't talk - just listen.  More often than not, after that, I have his undivided attention.   Of course, there are some stores that don't even qualify as human.  When I lived in East TN, I couldn't get used to the "wild west" cliquish ways of the gun stores.  Believe it or not, Coal Creek was the exception for me.  I wasn't an "old friend" when I walked in, but I was noticed, respected, and it was consistent.
  16. so kaboom's aside... with higher pressures that it brings, does anyone have any issues shooting aluminum 40s&w in a Glock?
  17. Airborn Schmerborn... semantics.  In close contact (where caregivers MUST be), it is indiscernible.  The panic shouldn't be happening.  Neither should the ineptitude.   I have seen Ebola touted as harder to catch than: 1) The Flu 2) HIV   1) Yes, the flu viruses kill a lot of people, and it is a nasty virus.  Counter point: How many caregivers, in the common course of treating those with the flu, actually contract the flu? How much cantiminated waste is generated by the average flu patient?  Most of what "comes out" in the flu can be easily contained and disposed of (wear a mask, have the patient wear a mask, wash your hands. done.)  ... With Ebola, the concern is the condition of the patient's body, and the amount of contaminants that are leaving the body ( and how they leave the body) and having to be dealt with.  It is impossible for the patient to "self-manage" their excretions.   2) HIV - This is pure spin.  The only way in heck this is any kind of workable analogue is if you are in the room with physically capable folks with some sick desire to infect you.  Close contact, ... even drinking after someone (for healthy folks) who has HIV is a non-issue.  No way that HIV is practically more contagious than Ebola.   -National concern over Ebola is warranted.  It should never have reached our shores.  As some have pointed out - as long as the system doesn't get overloaded, we can handle it.  If this virus ever pushes the tipping point of our healthcare system, it will get ugly very fast.  - American healthcare system or not.
  18. E.  Thanks again - I'll let you know how it shoots.   Once again TGO comes through in real life.  David, et al @ TGO - Thank you.  This community is more than distant words.
  19. Trout - oh no!  glad she got over it fast.
  20. Well, if Obama is right, we won't have to worry about it.  If he is lying, ignorant, or just plain wrong, then he will go down as the most catastrophic president in United States History.  I am concerned about it, but I can't imagine his ego is big enough to risk that.
  21. Red,  I tried wood & leather.  I'm sure we could have a good time and all,.... but it won't help the rifle.  :)   2 - I'll gladly take you up on your offer - PM inbound,... and be thinking about whether you want lunch, coffee, or a 6 pack of yoo-hoo.  (just kidding - 6 pack of whatever you would like)
  22. Shephard Smith is doing one thing: - Standing Out In A Crowd -  He is selling ad dollars just like the rest, and he is smart at it.     Entertainment Industry Dancing Chicken Rule #1:  Any press is good press.   - When you are the "press", and you can generate this much free press for yourself, that's a "good day".   It may be semantics, but I would say we should be concerned, aware, and alert.  I do not think we should be worried about Ebola, the virus. I DO think we should be concerned, upset, disappointed, and ... worried about lawmakers and political appointees inability to grow a set and get the US way ahead of the curve of this virus.
