  1.     Yes, by all means, please get "it" checked out.   :)   FIFY
  2. - just went through there about 30 minutes ago.  The interstate is open - only Shelby Ave is closed off right now.
  3. We went out to dinner with friends tonight over in East Nashville.  My wife and I were chatting about our fair city as we pulled off at Shelby Ave. earlier this evening.        As we were coming back to the interstate to come home, it became evident (by the sea of blue lights) that we would be taking an alternate route.     I am never a fan of breaking laws to make a point, but all in all, it seems (at this point) that our law enforcement handled this as peacefully as possible.
  4. Fun times!    Not that I think there is a high likelyhood of having a vehicle jacked as a part of the process for a home invasion, but as a matter of principle, I probably wouldn't leave anything that I wouldn't want to face in such a soft target right outside my house.     Since the question was asked, that is my opinion....  Now, who does what with what is precisely none of my business.
  5. How's that knee today!?   That had to be a hilarious conversation when you both got in the truck.   **As you proceed, check your insurance....  make sure you are covered for jaywalking.  Seriously!!  Getting injured while breaking the law is not covered much of the time.  I'm not saying what you should or shouldn't do, just that if you injured yourself walking back to the car, that some (otherwise) great person on a phone in a call center somewhere might be instructed to deny every claim on, over, or near the "deniable" line because that is how the system works.   Get your knee checked, and do it with your eyes wide open.  :)     Heal up soon! - and congrats on the new job!!
  6. All of the show business stuff is the entertainment version of "keeping up with the jones".
  7. just let a nice doe go by. 6yr old son's first hunt & he spotted her first! We had a beautiful broadside of her in the opening of the two trees near the right of the frame. - just didn't feel it, so we let her go.
  8. I had to take a pocket knife back to the truck last season.   It was "The Wand".  I looked at him and asked,... "my pocket knife, really?"  no dice.  If I wasn't taking a friend who was visiting from New Zealand, I would've just driven home.   (old codger warning).... you can't even be an eagle scout anymore... anywhere!!     ... granted, some folks seem to think my pocket knife is large.  It's under 4".   If they are going to wand, I wish they would wand every single person.
  9. ... this is one of them. 1) I bought the scope off of DBTN. 2) I bought the ammunition off of drv2fst. 3) 2.ooohhh helped me change the A2 flash hider out for my BCM gunfighter comp. (thanks again) drv2fst!!!! If you find anymore of that run of BH 77gr laying around, ... I'll take it. :) ... this is what it'll do in "somebody's" LWRC M6. 100yds. 16" LWRC M6A2 SSA-E trigger Leupold VXIII 3.5-10 P.E.P.R. quick release mount Black Hills 77gr OTM - sitting at a picnic table w/ Caldwell bipod (built-in picatinny mount) & squeeze bag under the stock. I shot 3 groups just like this one. I also think the BCM gunfighter comp absolutely made a difference... don't know why? but this gun was a 1.5-2moa gun before.
  10. Having worked quite a bit in East Nashville, I'm far from an "outsider", but I am hot/cold about it.  I have many, many friends who live there and love it; I just couldn't see moving my family there.   ??   Most likely because I genuinely love our large field, tall, old trees, and creek.  I suppose there are those who live outside of town who would say the same about my neighborhood - which is far from perfect.     Memphis - grew up going there to Christmas shop and see relatives,... and Mud Island.      oh, and all of the toy train/hobby stores along all 165 miles of Winchester.   Besides that... Memphis did transition us to Rock and Roll.... and STAX... Are you kidding!!!    (remember in the movie "Sandlot", when the kids are biking onto the ball field - that wonderful organ groove playing?  yep.  STAX records - "Green Onions" by Booker T. and the MGs   Whatever it is now, Memphis has a deadly serious legacy in the music world.
  11. -I'm sorry to hear about your friend's experience.  After being really unlucky,... he's incredibly lucky to get out of it without getting hurt.   http://lawstreetmedia.com/blogs/crime/10-dangerous-large/   2012 data.... but check out the report of the gallup poll on citizens of Memphis... and how many feel safe or unsafe.  There are great things about Memphis, but its specter as an incredibly dangerous city is not something that can be wished away.   In National data, Memphis is always in the top 5 most "violent" cities.   In Nashville, we seem to be just getting started... hovering around "12th" lately - helping to vaunt Tennessee into the top echelon of states with the highest rates of violent crime.
  12. sure, but if the guy in the OP's picture has only been growing his beard for two weeks....
  13. Very, very sorry to hear that.  Thanks for letting us know.  You have prayer, well wishes, and good vibes headed your way.  I'll spare you any platitudes I might be tempted to puke out.     Keep us updated on your victories, and let us know what else we can do.
  14. ^^  True.  It wouldn't matter who developed this area.  It has a history of failure and disinterest.  It should most likely have mutliple anchors... good ones at that.   Hopefully, the dwelling portion will be innovative and forward reaching... raising the profile of the area.  If not, all bets are off.  As a West-Meade-r, I would hate to see the blight of a failed large-scale devepment in Bellevue.
  15. Well,... I love slapstick, but couldn't do D&Dr....  If you are like that, Escanaba in Da Moonlight might be middle ground if you can't stand D&Dr-r  and/or Jim Carrey.  It is Daniels... all Daniels - with a great supporting cast and is a far, far cry from Hollywood schtuff.   oh... and it is about the opening of Deer Season.   It is for hunting, what "A Christmas Story" is for Christmas.
  16. ^^  I wish, but after looking through Crosland Southeast's online presence, I am not sure if they would look to court a company like Cabelas.   They seem more like the (very nice) Publix, etc. type of developer.
  17. As far as I can tell, it stinks to get shot, hit with shrapnel, or otherwise have your body tissue displaced by foreign objects.  It would double stink to get shot broadside by exploding ordinance.  sheesh.  If you don't pass out immediately - just enough time to think. "Well, that about does it."
  18.     Aaaaaaaha!! ha  ha hahahahahahahaaaa!!!!!!!     so true.   - Marketing to the 8yr old in all of us at its best!
  19. I sprayed every square inch of our house before we moved in.  If I could cut in worth a flip, I could've been through faster rolling.  When you are doing finish coats, prep for spraying takes a long, long time.  ... maybe spray your primer and have a paint party to roll/brush the finish coats.
  20. Show me a timber worker with a brow ring.  ??   :)    yup.        With that said, I have a few friends who probably qualify as hipsters, but I think they are actually what hipsters are trying to be.  More so than anyone else I know, they don't give a dang about what anyone thinks about them.  They wear what they want just because.  Some of them work for folks that you all have and/or would pay good money to go and see - not just stars,... legends, and if you spent time with them, you'd get to know some awesome, strong folks.          Now, my wife bought me a pair of "fitted pants" (I refuse to use the other term).  I have worn them.  They are stylish and worthless.  I can't put a single thing in a pocket on them.  Duluth TC, please.   When Polo and Parachute Pants were in style, I grew up wearing flannel and such.  Still do.
  21. ^^ 1/2" nap roller on ceilings.  yup.     You can scrape the popcorn off, but it is a pain, pain, pain.pain.pain.pain.pain.pain.   aerated, if you mess it up, then you have to do sheetrock repair. ... then paint it.
  22. we loved sherwin williams eco friendly line. i do NOT like their alkyd acrylic stuff - do NOT like it. We painted our last house with SW and this one with Porter. 6=1/2dozen. upper end Lowe's paint should be just fine too.
  23. Paint every square inch - ceilings too, carpet replaced, hardwood refinished if necessary. - or just new poly.... and then have your duct work cleaned. every. square. inch. congrats! and good luck. pain now, joy later. ...or pain now, pain later. your choice :)
