  1. welcome Ron - always fun to see crossover from POA! The TWRA range in Montgomery county is great, but it is. bit of a drive from you. just google MCSC. Welcome to TGO!
  2. Sorry to hear that Greg. ... sounds like you lost a giant and an angel... all in one.
  3. I second Black Abbey.   If you like brews and The Pharmacy,.. you should know that a new beer hall is opening soon in Germantown.  I watched the "Draft" guy fitting the 30 taps today.     "Butchertown Hall"   I have no vested interest, but I've heard from a birdie there is an incredible amount of tile on the walls in that place.  I've also heard it looks amazing.   :)
  4. I am for freedom of expression - artistic or otherwise.  Even so, this whole time in the back of my head has been this thought ... how thick-headed do you have to be to make a pop-culture comedy about the assasination of a sitting head of state?  There are other ways to say what you want to say.  You can keep the likeness, face, manerisms, .. whatever, but change the name for crying out loud - bad form... and karma (though it seems to have eluded aformentioned head-of-state... for now) is resting her head on this "thing".   If... if, if, if... Amazon and/or Netflix/Hulu, etc. think they are secure enough, they would make great release platforms.   - but they may have already (behind closed doors) said "No, thank you."   Sony has had a lot of free press for this movie (that's good), but Sony also carryies a stain of being able to be drowned - absolutely paralyzed, by an unknown entity (that's bad).  This movie and the $75m or so that they have tied up in it is chump change compared to the specter of having had the entire orgnization helplessly "taken down" - with no ability to mitigate, stop, or counter the assault.  As a global business, that is a huge, huge deal.   Night. Mare.
  5. He had better close that dust cover.     Snipping with a 3x optic - absolutely Snipping with a dusty BCG?  ... can't be done.
  6. 130 children - dying a frightful, helpless death.  There is no cry of sadness which is worthy.  Humanity suffered a loss today.
  7. ..... something tells me that something has not been right with strength and conditioning & nutrition... for at least this last off season.  This is a lot of injuries.  ...
  8.     I had heard it somewhere else today....  I am curious about the differentiation between speculation and chatter.  If Haslam could unload the Browns and team up with Peyton @ the Titans, it would be a powerful combo.  It would also crystalize much of the Titans fans behind a Hall of Fame (future) football legend.   My concern as voiced last week remains... that the Titans would be an attractive purchase for relocation to a larger market.   ~$2Billion !?!?   sheesh... I was thinking 1.2-1.4 in this market....  unless it becomes an "emotional purchase" -ala LA Clippers.
  9. ... and it's not even about winning or loosing.   Being a Titans QB this year has to be one of the most dangerous jobs in the lower 48.   I really feel for Locker - I believe he could've had a very successful career with another team who could protect him.     this year is likely to be the end of his career.   shoot. darn, heck-fire.
  10. O Dave, I am so sorry.  -wish I had more powerful words.  Peace to you and yours.
  11. Our kids (7yrs old) are having a birthday "sleepover weekend" this weekend.  As I stood across the room and watched them talk and work on legos, I had to hold back tears watching our awesome little buddy who's father gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.  I don't know the details, but I will always have a soft spot for him.  He is such a good, caring, bright kid.     I have never served; I have never come close to serving.  I have very little to say to/for/about folks who would lie about serving.  ugh.
  12. Having cleared a small-ish cyst for someone several times in years past, I could not watch the video; the smell and rememberance of it is not something I like to revisit.  If it is cottage-cheese-whiz, then it is most likely a cyst.  That stuff STINKS -- oh so badly.   Glad he got to see a doc.  -hope he heals up well.  I am curious to know what the docs say.
  13. .137 and .164 !! ??  Sheesh!  I know it can be done with regularity if one is practiced,... but that BC doesn't help out one bit.  :)
  14. ^^  If it ever comes to that, we will all wish we "never got it".
  15. I would do some reading on Ibuprofen before you use it for to "treat" hearing damage - I know "OD'ing on Ibuprofin can damage your hearing as well. Crazy, but true. don't know if regular doses would help or hurt in your case.
  16. oh... CCI mini-mags.
  17. I have no doubt you will love it. I just mounted a "centerpoint" 3x9 in weaver base and rings on my dad's bone-stock, 30yr old 10/22. On a bench rest, my 13yr old nephew was shooting q-tips in half at 23yds. - couldn't miss. using Primos "stix", I had no problem repeatedly shooting .223 shell casings at 25yds. Before this last weekend, I would've said bolt gun, but an older 10/22 with a mint crown might be the ticket!
  18. ARs are loud.  You'll have some damage.  Everyone is different as to how much and how long until it stabilizes.  Good luck!
  19. Nice Camo choice!   :)
  20. While I am not a fan of the government being an competitor in the marketplace (or at least over-reaching to steer the market),... the commercial you heard just sounds like common marketing shtuff that we hear everyday for healthcare related products and services.   Everybody is counting dollars and trying to better the bottom line.  HHS is no different - they own the marketplace now and are still having a hard time hitting their numbers.  ouch.
  21. aww now.   :) It's relevant.  He needs to have both eyes open; the truth can hurt (and doesn't always come from massive amounts of bilirubin).  There are some good folks out there, but life is hard, and being a chicken on stage is tough on some folks - especially being a christian chicken on stage (you have to dance a certain way).     Everybody copes with it some way.  Some folks deal with it well... others find ways to cope that don't fit the message, but rarely does anyone have a place where they can talk about it in a truly safe space and get help.   OP - take care of yourself.  Whatever your religious/social persuasion - whatever your genre of music, find folks to make a life with - the kind of folks you want your (future?) kids to learn from.  Travel with them; make music with them.  Make a life that you love.  It'll be worth it.
  22.   bwaaaaaah aaa haahaaahaaa!! .... traveled with very many Christian music groups, have you?   :)   -glad your friend had a good experience.   OP - First off, no matter what don't do things that would get your bus pulled over!   :)  ...AND remember that different states have different laws.  In some states, you may have to inform an officer, in others (such as Tennessee), you are not required to inform unless asked.   You might ask around about case law, tour buses, and weed (I know there is a Willie Nelson case!).  In a tour bus, they may view you and others as legitiment co-workers. **In a car, you will most likely be treated as close acquaintances.   This is a tough nut to crack.  You may never run into a problem, but if you ever do find the law, some (illegal) weed, and your concealed handgun in the same room, you are probably going to have a not-fun day.   **edit - I just tuned in to the "and cars" part.  Yes, in that case, if you know they are going to have weed, leave yourself and the gun at home if possible.  There is not a lot of "wiggle room" in that scenario.
  23. Larue's plastics are on sale... RISR, grip and their RAT stock.  good deals.  larue.com
  24. I am so sorry this happened and wish your daughter speedy healing. The pup: Take him back on the condition that you are able to inform the adopting family of his behavior with you. Inform the rescue group that if they have a problem with that, you will gladly let them explain to animal control or news ch4 why they think it is appropriate to adopt out a known biter while hiding the truth and endangering other people and children. This is nothing to mess around with. Surely the group will show the utmost concern for both humans and dog, but if they don't, cut off ties and/or expose them. There is no sense in dogs getting more of a bad rep because some agency wants to close their eyes and whistle dixie in Cloud Coo Coo Land. If the dog really snaps and bites with no provocation or warning, he may need to be put down. That is a hard pill to swallow, and I can't know for sure not being involved, but it is something you may want to give some thought.
  25. ^^ yes, this.  sometimes it is more wise (and much more cost effective) to give a little - especially if larger objectives are not compromised (i.e., peace, justice, freedom).   If I'm the mayor, I'm telling the Police chief to make sure protestors have a safe night.   If I'm the police chief, I'm telling the protestors, "I support your right to protest, let me know how I can help you, and there is no way that I can allow you to break the law... including laying down in the interstate.  I get that you are making a statement, lets work it out where you get to make a statement, and I don't have to arrest you."   In the end, if cost the city a lot less just to let it play out.
