String 2 will be on a half size steel target at 10 yards. from cover ring the steel 6 times from the right, reload, 6 times on the left. Stage 2 will be 13 pepper poppers, vairing distances, drop them quick as you can. Stage 3 will be 6 plates and 4 mini-poppers, fast as you can. Shot with pistol first and with shotgun later on 2 and 3.
  2. However the Giraud power trimmer is the cats meow.
  3. The mic is a gee whiz unless you are doing stuff like bench rest shooting, or popping ground hogs at 500 yrds. I use the Lee stuff. The Dillon set up is nice.
  4. I can't get you a membership at this time, however you may shoot this match, just show up at the gate between8-9:00AM.
  5. This years steel match will be different. We will have three stages of steel, timed event. Shoot up to two guns for score. We will also have a shot gun side match on stages 2 and 3. I will try to bring extra shot gun ammo. 50 rounds will finish a rotation, if you don't miss. 25 will be good for shotgun.
  6. shoot wolf, it sparks when it hits steel.
  7. The 2009 MCTS match dates are now posted on the MCTS web site. 1st Saturdays are IDPA matches and 3rd Saturdays are IDPA match with shotgun or rifle side match. 2 classifiers are in the mix and a 3-gun match 1st Saturday in November.
  8. Gallatin Gun has IDPA on 2nd Saturdays, MCTS and Gallatins full 2009 events will be posted sometime in December. It is possible to shoot somewhere in Middle Tennessee every weekend.
  9. .223 is some of the most labor intensive round to reload. I reload all mine. Resize and deprime on a single stage or a turrent press. length must be checked and shorted if to long. Dillon make a die/sizer combo that works good, or others make different cutters to do the job, anywhere from $10-$365. You will need a sweager if you have mil-spec rounds with crimped primer pockets to open the primer hole. After I have the brass in spec., I load them on a Lee Loadmaster. 55gr FMJ are the cheapest bullets to buy. With a 16" or shorter barrel, use a fast powder, Ramshot x-teminator, Accurate 1680, Alliant 10x or Hodgen H322. Heaver bullets and longer barrels use slower powders, Ramshot TAC, Alliant 15x, Hodgen H335 or Accurate 2230. 24" barrels and heavy bullets"75grs and up" even slower powders.
  10. As I sat with my wife and watched Boston legal with her last night, I soon realized the show was decated to McCain bashing and liberal causes. I had to walk away before I shot my TV. :puke:never again
  11. 3rd Saturdays will be for rifle and shot gun side matches and other fun things.
  12. I have resent the scores to the webmaster, a bunch of them did not get posted.
  13. This match is in the books. we have learned several things. The club officers have changed how we set up this type of match and should run smoother next year. Stage 6 has been thrown out because the steel was taken home before the last group could shoot it. That is the problem with borrowing equipment. Some people did not know we were have a 3-gun and just brought pistols, Next years will be the same weekend in November, mark your calander.
  14. MCFooter; I have new guys in training, I am looking over their shoulders and making notes. It is hard to transfer over what we have seen over the years at various 3-gun matches. My stuff leans towards my USPSA stages I have shot.
  15. get a surefire comp, it will look 14" long then, and shoot flat.
  16. I am not sure what NFA means. How short is the barrel? I think he means anything that the ATF say is legal to own by the average guy. I have taken a back seat on this match, I want to see how it goes before I say to much.
  17. what is a sbr? Jim made the rules.
  18. you can use my 16" comped AR. Running an eotek red dot, no problems at 85 yrds. Or I will bring my 20" Bushmaster mil-spec.
  19. I need to make this match, anybody need a ride?
  20. 9mm & .40- titegroup, .45acp-clays, 231, .223-AA2230, 12ga-WSF. I have also used WSF in 147gr 9mm, 231 in 124gr 9mm
  21. We won't tear down what is set up for the Hillbilly classic match, but will use it or work around it.
  22. I reload 9mm, .40s&w, .45ACP, 38spc., .223, 12ga
  23. We will be working around what is being set up. Also I will be setting up for the classic after out match.
  24. Me and Jim will be their if anybody can get to the range. I have a trailer full of range stuff I need to get to Dickson, And I can still get Diesel. Robert
  25. I have reloaded 10,000 .40s&w for my G-35, I have had 1 case failure from a case that had about 10 reloads on it. USPSA major power factor is below the factory spec. so I have had very little problem with case seperation. I am starting to find some 9mm that are bulged out from people loading them to major power factor in comp. guns. Their is the one 9mm I shot out of my .40, expanded out to .40 with out splitting the case.
