  1. See what you started Gary. With 5 bays i can have a really nice match now. I have thought about starting at the 100 yrd berm and having some really long range shots.
  2. Gallatin gun will host a bug match on November 13. 50 rounds min, only 5 rounds in gun, reloads off the clock, no draws from holster. We will have a IDPA style rifle match after the bug match, no extra charge. Other range news; We have started range improvements. The roads are being repaired, old buildings are being torn down and removed, new storage will replace the old ones, The rifle range will be extended out to 300 yrds. The dirt from this project will be used to raise and lengthen the pistol bays and two more bays will be created behind bays 1 and 2 giving us 5 pistol bays. Bays 4 and 5 will be 50 yrds deep. A much inproved shoot house will be built in bay 4. A rifle only match will be on the schedule for next year.
  3. That non-threat in the jungle walk and the one miss I had cost me 1st. Next week Matt?
  4. Free state mags in ESP, all guns in ESP
  5. Gallatin Gun Will host a small but fun 3-gun match on Oct. 9. Start time is 9:30AM. Stage one, 28 rounds - 10 pistol and 18 rifle. 4 will be auto-poppers set down range. combo of up close and long range. Stage 2. 33 rounds. 20 rifle, 8 shotgun slugs, 5 birdshot. Stage 3. 30 rounds. 8-19 pistol, 11-22 shotgun. combo of paper, clays and steel. Steel may be shot with shotgun or pistol. This will be run on outlaw 3-gun rules, scored using IDPA scoring. SSP= iron sight on rifle, stock pistol with 10 max in mags. (10rd 1911 style ok), 8 rd max shotgun. ESP= Reddot or other sights on rifle, factory high caps on pistol, high cap shotguns. CDP= iron sight .308 or 30-06, 8 round .45s, pump shotgun, (heavy metal, hemans class) One item can bump you up in class, that is red dot sight, high cap shotgun or high cap pistol. Special note; .308 and .30-06 will only be required one A zone shot to kill an target, every thing else needs two with at least one A,B or C hit on rifle targets or -0 or -1 on IDPA. Rifle targets will be 1/2 size USPSA targets. Match fees are $10 for Gallatin members, $15 for non-members. Sorry, No 1st tme shooter fees for this match.
  6. On my zero .45's, I set my seating die to the desired height with FMJ and leave it the same for the JHP. The profile is the same but with the tip cut off. the OAL is shorter, however the seating depth is the same.
  7. The two things that cause problems with balance beams are, they need to center the beam at -0- before you start and any air movement will cause it to move. After set up in a closed room, I have never had a problem.
  8. Fees are $10 for members, $15 for non-members. First timers are $5. First timer fee does not apply to Classifier matches and 3-Gun matches.
  9. Gallatin Gun IDPA, on Sept. 11, will have a regular monthly match with 3 stages and a shotgun side match. No extra fee for the shotgun match. About 70 pistol and 16 shotgun. Birdshot or skeet loads will work.
  10. After I bought the magtech I found out that powder Valley had tulammo (wolf) for $21 per thousand. I t would be nice if the us primer mfgs. would catch up and get the prices back to a more normal rate. I do perfer winchester, however I have had no problems with the wolf primers I bought.
  11. I scored some mag tech spp primers from cabelas for $24.99 per thousand. I bought 5k. they were in stock and shipped within 24 hours.
  12. Also the side matches will be outlaw as usual,
  13. Not to fear, I will make excepions. Bring the Saiga, put 6 rounds in the mag and go for it. I may consider other exceptions for the scoped rifle class. The oversize brake won't be a problem either. I am hoping for some rule corrections by the Oct. match. The restrictions on round count is a problem for me, however I believe I can come up with good stages within the guidelines. I may have to fudge it up on at least one stage.
  14. their are many things I do not like in these rules. I will use them in my 3-gun matches to see what works and what does not. IDPA wants feed back, I am sure they will get it. It does make set up easier with fewer targets. I wish Beach Bunny would support it with a scoring program, They do not like, as I do not like, the one class lower rule. Too many ways to call it. The way I see it, I should be in marksman if I shoot my .45. Does not make sense. Auto loader shotgun needs to be max of at least 7+1. And I would like to keep my magwell on my AR-15. Their are several misspellings and dup. rules in included and excluded. In scoped rifle, extended safety release is in included and excluded. send them feed back fellows
  15. The doctors have given me a full release today and I will be at the match this Saturday. I think I will bring my shotgun out and play on the plate rack.
  16. Doctors have released me today and I will be back at the range this weekend.
  17. Yea, perfect sight picture, no recoil and .25 reloads. I am seeing my Doc. today, I hope to be released from restrictions. get my black Glock back out.
  18. Michael won't give me a real one yet. He says I have to get a doctors release before I can play again. But I figure it should have been about a 85.01.
  19. Thanks for comming out. July is a classifer. 90 rounds, all standards. Check the IDPA website for the drills. thay are always the same for the classifer match. You will need at least two mags. 4 would be better.
  20. OK, in that case, I will set in my chair, collect money, hand out score sheets and answer questions. Was not sure if this match was covered. Setting at home is about to drive me nuts. If this weekend goes well, I will show up at Dickson and help with the sign-in. I hope by July I can start shooting and become active in the clubs operations again. On June 17th I have a check in with the doctor and hope to get released from restrictions.
  21. Good day shooters. I plan on comming back to the range this Saturday with 3 COF's requiring about 50 rounds. I will need help setting up and running the match. I do not plan on shooting the match myself and may have to leave early if the heat gets to me. SO's shoot free. Normal match fees for everybody else. $10 for Gallatin members, $15 for non-members. I will be at the range at 7:00 AM for setup, we will try to start shooting by 9:30. Their will be a swap meet going on at the rifle shed during the IDPA match. I will try to have tents and water for those that don't bring their own. Robert:tough:
  22. I have plenty more, I thought obout leaving the big door up about 1 foot and sitting in the corner with a camera, and my 12 ga by my side. Smile.

I have has a 2nd generation G-17 stolen from my truck while it sat in my garage yesterday. I was 30 feet away when it happen and did not see anybody. The gun is well used and worn. S/N HL xxx. I live in the Hermitage TN area and a police report has been filed. any tips, drop me a line. I hate to think that I need to close up the garage to cut the grass. Thanks Robert
  24. They were sold new as non-toxic rounds, I really don't know why they used small primers.
  25. The woods walk is not pistol friendly, clays at 20 yrds is a hard shot. the other stages can be shot pistol only.
