  1. Anybody got a line on a tracked skid-steer loader we can rent for a day, the bays are in rough shape after the heavy rains. (really cheap)
  2. Gallatin Gun will have a 4 stage IDPA match this Saturday, May 14th. Set up is at 7:00AM with match starting around 9:15. 75 rounds min. Full IDPA attire required. We will have a 20 round rifle side match in bay 4. Quitman Dennis will have a timed steel reactitive system set up in bay 5, anybody may play on it at any time until match is over, no charge. Normal match fees of $10 for Gallatin members, $15 for non-members and 1st timers fees are $10 for the IDPA match. Bring off for the ticks, they are in full force.
  3. Bring what you have. I divide the guns into iron sight and scoped rifles. Any mags will do. The stage for this side match is only 20 rounds. It will be in stage 4 after the IDPA match. It is a house clearing stage using a rifle. Most targets will be upclose, with in 15 yards. I have a new door to breach for stage 4, should be fun.
  4. That's the problem with a shared range, only one day given, and I can't work on Sunday.
  5. Gallatin Gun IDPA will host an IDPA match on Saturday April 9 starting at 9:15AM. 4 IDPA stages and one shotgun sidematch stage. 66 round pistol for the IDPA match and 3 slugs and 10 birdshot for the shotgun stage. Regular match fees apply, sidematch included in price.
  6. Matt, I have a COF designed for stage 4 next month, using same walls and layout, and charging the middle targets. Fight your way to the hostage stage.
  7. Close, but Not really, I have changed the classes around to allow more different guns to shoot. The COF will be run like a pistol match, just with rifles. SSP will be iron sights and dots, ESP for scopes and super high cap mags. CDP for iron man ".308, 30-06, 8mm" . Round counts will run from 18 to 28 rounds per stage. We will use cover, (peek and shoot) like IDPA pistol. Thanks for the help
  8. Most of it happen during the Tennessee mornings show with most of the statements made by the reporter on site. The reporter made several statements on how this may cause the law to be looked at again. The reporter and the bar owner are in left field. A thug did the deed, not a HCP holder. I better stop before I get to worked up.
  9. WTF! Fox 17 in Nashville is running a story about a mugging inside a bar in Hermitage. A man was pistol whipped in the restroom and robbed. Fox 17 is turning the story about how this will effect the guns in bars laws. These people are dumb, this has no effect other than if the person that was mugged had a gun, he may have been able to stop his mugging. Fox 17 needs many e-mails ripping them on this story. \The bar was posted NO GUNS, That did not stop the robbers from mugging this poor man. I think our point is made.
  10. I will need help. FYI; anybody that does not have some type of rifle, you are welcome to try it with a pistol. Also I have a rifle that can be borowed, you will need 120 rounds of .223.

Any shoulder fired gun may be used except for high power rounds. Pistol rounds ok, .22 for youth ok. You are welcome to try it with a pistol, however the 45 yard 4" steel may be a problem.

  13. Those blue ones are tricky, They will turn on you in a heartbeat.
  14. “You cannot do that if the police cannot be assured that illegal guns are not on the street.” We done such a good job of keep drugs and vistors from south of the border off the streets, why not guns. He has no clue what is going on in the world, or does he? Ok, I am done bitching.
  15. I guess that these congress cretters did not see the ruling that the Police do not have the duty to protect.
  16. Yet another feel good law that will do nothing to protect people and cause problems for us law abiding folks. I guess I am suppose to know where every federal official is and what they look like and the location of every Federal building. I guess driving by one on the way home would be a crime. Besides, you cannot intercept a shooter hiding a gun that has not given any indication of the crime they are about to do, as if they ever try. The law is worthless junk
  17. I captured 6 more plastic barrels for the range.
  18. Thanks man, I had only one miss on stage 3, The guys keeping score wrote down a 1.64 on string 3 stage one. I did not realize I had done that. I need to do all my classifiers in the snow. Ryan P. was running the timer, Kemp would make me do it over.
  19. We ran 6 shooters through the classifer today in the snow. And a good time was had by all.
  20. Gallatin Gun Club IDPA will host the IDPA classifer match this Saturday, January 8th. 90 rounds min.
  21. Match fee update; Gallatin members $10, Non-members $15., First time shooters $10, Second gun, all shooters $10, Junior shooters 17 and under, $10., Active Military $10. Working Safety Officers shoot first gun free, see Robert If you can work the match.
  22. rounds required are 54 pistol,36 shot and 8 slugs min. This is an open rules match, shoot what you bring. factory high caps are ok. Box feed shotguns, bring'em.
  23. Good day shooters; We will be at the Range Monday morning, November 22 to try to finish the new berm work, I also need to repair the water line to the range. We can use some help applying seed and straw. I will be their early. Also the berms are finished enought to have matches in them. One , two and three are 25 yrds deep with 8 foot tall berms. Bays 4 and 5 are 50 yrds deep with 8 ft berms. We will have 4 stages on our Dec. 11 shotgun/pistol match. One pistol only requiring 26 rounds in one string, one shot gun only in one of the new long bays with 8 slugs and 9 shot, slug targets will be a 40 yrds. and 2 pistol/shotgun stages. And the rifle berms are now at 304 yrds.
  24. We are working on the berm project through Friday. TVA stepped in and changed some things and put us behind. The old target shed is gone, that area is parking now. New shed will be off to the side. The back rifle berm is at 304 yards now and about 4 feet lower. The pistol berms are 25 yards deep, bay one has a new safety berm at the road end and the service road has be moved over and trees pushed back. Bays 4 & 5 are roughed in and ready for finish grading. they are 18x50 yrds. The bad news is the new drain pipe on the entry road will need lowered to meet TVA requirements. That means at least a full day of work because the material is hard as a rock and the water line will have to be moved.
