  1. Luke E.,  Dustbuster, The up comming 3-gun at Gallatin is a great place for new 3 gun shooters. It will be 5 stages with no long range stuff, I just don have the room for stages that are big and long. It will be fun and will require good gun handling  with all 3 guns. It is a good practice for the bigger matches like the Pro-Am comming up in Park City on the 23rd-25th. I will be working the pro stage two. Come up and watch the pros shoot.  Also Owensboro will have a 3-gun match on the 31st.
  2. Justin sucked you in to 2 guns
  3. August  match will be IDPA stages. Stage one will be prone shooting. Stage two will be dealing with hostages, stage three is strong hand, weak hand shooting. stage 4 is house clearing, walls have been moved around. Stage 5 is long range standards. 75 round min. set up is 7:00, match start is 9:30 for this match. Normal match fees of $10 for club members and $15 for non-members. Second guns ok. Full IDPA gear needed.
  4. I guess we'll never know.
  5. Yep, It was Don then the rest of us. If I had hit all the plates, I might of gotten close to Don.
  6. once was enough :surrender:
  7. Russell was one of the first to teach me about IDPA, I know he is with Andy now talking about the good times.
  8. now for an early frost in August. And Justin, did I mention that low score sets up the next match.
  9. The way I read it, If you make SSP marksman. sharpshooter, expert or master under the old rules, you will keep that classification when the new rules take effect. All of the SSP times have been changed to more closely follow ESP times when the new rule book takes effect.
  10. Gallatin Gun will host the IDPA classifier July 13th starting at 9:00AM. Set up starts at 7:00. I need a couple of Safety officers to help run the event. Match fees will be $10 for club members and $15 for non-club members per gun classified. Gate will be lock, we will do gate checks to get every body in. 90 rounds min, bring extra.
  11. Being old and a member of GSSF made me $175.
  12. Looks like I can make it, I have a hall pass for this weekend.
  13. Match went well, 32 shooters.
  14. I guess I could bring out the swinging clays...................I can double the number of targets, all depends on the turn out and help. If 60 people show up again, it will be tight. If 30 want to shoot shotgun, a second stage will be needed. bring a full box of shells just in case. Do I hear someone wanting a 40 yard slug target....................? :surrender: I know, buckshot at 30 yards on paper, best 4 scored hits. :stunned:  I wonder how the auto poppers would work at 40 yards with slugs, big 6" target.
  15. nope, one stage, ten rounds, run it twice if you like.
  16. Gallatin Gun will host an IDPA match on June 8th. 71 rounds min. We will have 4-5 stages for IDPA and one shotgun side match for 10 rounds of shot. Sign in starts at 8:30, match starts at 9:00. Set up starts at 7:00. Shotgun is optional stage, not part of the IDPA match.
  17. You can test fire a mag before the match, no problem
  18. GOT THEM IN THE TRUCK. :usa:
  19. Gallatin Gun will host a Freestyle match this weekend, May 11th. Start time will be 9:30 for this match. Try to be at the range by 9:00. 104 rounds min. We will use IDPA scoring. Their will be a mix of IDPA and USPSA targets. No cover or concelment rules this match, shooting boxes and fault lines will be used. You may use any IDPA or USPSA firearm/holster combination. CDP will be single stack with up to 10 rounds in mags, ESP will be high cap. double stack mags for limited style guns with mags up to 140mm long. SSP wil be for stock and production guns with 10 round mags. Wheel guns are ok, just bring lots of speed loaders. Speed holsters ok in all but SSP/Production divisions.  Speed reloads are ok(dropping mags with bullets left in them). Match fees of $10 for club members and $15 for non-members for each gun entered. Set up is at 7:00. Pistol cal rifle may be used, or .30 carbine.
  20. $35 per year to join GSSF, plus $25 for each division you want to shoot in. I plan on shooting in 5 divisions.
  21. And I was going to let Tish use my shotgun..........
  22. I would not mind doing a begnners IDPA class. I can most likely use the classroom at Gallatin Gun Club and do drills off the pistol end of the rifle range. I would have to get with the other club officers and work out the details.
  23. john, Looks like I have lost your e-mail, send me a pm with it.
  24. Their was a PDF in the e-mail I sent out, Scott sometimes misses it, your e-mail came back, had it spelled wrong.
  25. I also noticed I sent out the PDF for last years match. I can resent it  to anybody that cannot read the other files.
