    that XDS recall

Sent mine in last Oct. and had to wait 72 days to get it back. I should have waited, it fuctioned and shot fine. A week or two turn arround is great.
  4. Can`t say enough good about RCBS CS, I have even offered to buy parts that I broke,( my doing), they wouldn`t take my money, just sent out the part. OUTSTANDING
  5. Hey runningfree, Not long ago I reloaded a batch of 200, 45acp brass 51 times just to see how many times they could go. This is with light target loads and cases belled at a min. Some  cases started splitting after about  25 trips but only a few , and when I tossed them they were really beat-up. This is what you might want to hear, when I tossed them they were shorter than when first loaded. There is no need to trim pistol cases.
  6. I know after I shoot them I will never see them again, I shoot a lot, so all I ask is that they are accurate and under .09 ea for 45acp. there are plenty of casters that meet that need. Plated and jacketed are just not in the budget, and most ain`t as accurate as the cast for range work.
  7. IF, with the barrel out, your rounds "plunk" right into the barrel without a hitch, I would look to the magazine. My 229, I been shooting since 1996, will run fine with reduced recoil springs (light reloads) and standard 16LB spring that has cycled over 5,000 times. Could be the spring, but I would check all that has been mentioned and that mag. Good luck      Go here for the original part >> http://www.topgunsupply.com/sig-sauer-p229-gun-parts/
  8. That is how they are -- I am an avid reloader, on a PRO 2000, for the past 11yrs, and I have broke a part or two, my fault alone, and they have ALWAYS refused payment for those parts that I told them I broke. No other company I know of, does that, yea, they are great. Oh, I just remembered, I beat the cap off a pullet puller, a while back, they even replaced that.
  9. I would go down there every couple months, NEVER AGAIN, they support gun control, and I value my rights way too much to spend a dime there. I won`t sell my soul, by doing bussiness with DICKS, SORRY, but what they did, really hurt.
  10. I think, at first, they were called "cooling fins" put there to keep the slide from getting too hot.   NOPE,  don`t like the look at all.
  11.   600 Months from now ??? That is NOT that long. Just checked GUNBOT, the cheapest 22lr, instock, was 30 cents per round. so if you only shoot a "brick" that is $150 per one range trip. Yea, I can wait, I will only be 135 ys old.   :pleased:
  12. http://www.americanclassic1911forum.com/forumsii/showthread.php?78-Spring-Things-Recoil-and-the-1911&s=7a8a69a2b7994  here is an intresting read on 1911 recoil springs. Recoil springs do take a "set" but that dosen`t change their work rate. Hope this helps some.
  13.   Did try them, as said, no problem. MBC has a HUGE customer base, that swear by them. Although not my favorite bullet. Not saying that they can`t lead some barrels. Some lubes are better than others, I do load and shoot about 20,000 45 acp 200gr lswc a year and have no or, almost no visable leading after shooting 200 to 400 per range trip. I have never needed to re-lube a already lubed bullet. I get your point, that you can make, and lube, better than you can buy. No doubt   The OP wanted to know if he would have to work-up a load for the 12 vs 18 BHN bullet, my answer was, I didn`t think so.
  14. 4grs of BE is a target load for the 200gr lswc. That is what MBC made that bullet alloy for. They are already lubed, won`t do you any good to add more lube. I would think your loads will be fine . I have shot a "ga-zillion"  of the 200gr. lswc, mostly from MASTERCAST, But, 1000s  from PENN, MBC, and S&S which are 17/18 BHN or 12/14  BHN and found no more, or less, leading with target loads ranging from 3.5 gr of BE, to 4.5 grs. If the bullet is correctly lubed and sized and driven at speeds that are in the ball park for target loads, and you get a lot of leading, it is more than likely not the bullet.   Bottom line,  MBC bulids a good bullet, with the loads you stated, I would think, your concern would be about accuracy. Best of luck
  15. They are good to deal with, I ordered some primers in Jan. the next day they showed them out of stock, I was worried, but they showed up ahead of schedule. I have never had an issue with a order from PVI. Seems like they try hard to ship what they can ASAP.
