  1. I know some of the stores are having specials...I got an email from the Armory in Lebanon...any more out there? Or on the net? I know Brownells and Midway are having sales...do tell:D
  2. Kudos to Mike. I have made several purchases from him and his service has been exemplary and his prices as well. Now, just waiting on 'the man'....
  3. I saw a place for the signature of the CLEO. I took it there and he signed it. He signed in two places...I guess he signed both copies. Whether I did it right or not, I have no idea. C&R did come today, so they must not have cared how I did it. I just did what I thought the directions stated....oh well....call me an over-achiever:)
  4. There are places that are too be signed by the CLEO. Some here have mailed it to there CLEO; some have done what I did; some have left it blank and let the Feds mails them a copy. I filled out everything I could, took it to him and he signed where he was supposed too, mailed it off. It seems confusing...welcome to the Feds world:)
  5. I just got my C&R. I understand that I should make copies and send a signed copy for any transactions....correct? What vendors should I patronize that will give me a discount with this? What are some other tips and tricks? Besides a bigger safe:)
  6. I filled mine out and then took it personally to the CLEO (my local chief of police) and watched him fill it out. I then sent it priority mail so I could track it if need be. I just got mine in the mail today:) Now what am I gonna buy 1st:)
  7. Haven't there been gun shows for years at that mall? :)
  8. I have the 220 Elite and a several Kimbers. The Kimber fits me better and I would not make the swap. The 220 seems large to me. I have other Sigs as well, 226, 239,232, and 238. Just in .45, I like the Kimber better. I did buy a threaded barrel from Sig so that I could get a 45 can. The threaded barrel fits very snug and the frame is hard to cycle. I ran about 75 rounds through it at Charlie's yesterday to loosen it up. Then, I shot my Kimber and in my hands, I could put several clips in a 5" circle at 25 yards. The 226 and the 220 were larger groups. But, as always, YMMV:)
  9. Thanks...is a 9mm or 45 better, or does it matter? Will I need slugs or shot? What size? How many? I would need to buy some slugs. Regular 9 or 45 ammo? or JHP or something like that? Sorry, I like to be prepared. Rick
  10. So, is my shotgun a good choice? or should I find another option? Thanks Rick
  11. What would I need for this? Kimber 1911 or one of my Sigs Sig 556 with Eotech sight (what distances are rifle targets? Shotgun? I have a Browning B2000 SemiAuto with a 26" Barrel Skeet Choke....would that work if I took out the plug so I have 5 shots? Holster for handgun Ammo Eye/Ear protection Anything else? Thanks, I am a newbie but think this may be fun:)
  12. Bubba, you know better:) They don't exist:)
  13. I sent mine in today via Express Mail so I could track it. I took it personally to the CLEO in my city and watched him sign. (He is a friend) I mailed the whole application. Did I do that right? Was I supposed to leave a copy with the police dept?
  14. My name is Rick...here is an action shot, followed by a campfire shot:)
  15. 'Mark' so I can remember...and I'll bring some Smith revolvers, something in a Colt, and definitely a Kimber:)

    My first AR

Congrats...thanks for taking care of the boys last week at the store:)
  19. Just wanted to drop a note and give some props and a few shouts to the illustrious caveman. College son (22 yo) and friends (also of legal) age were headed to lake from Knoxville for a weekend of guns and boats, not necessarily combined:) I told them to stop by Cavemans store: West Town Wine & Spirits 7319 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919 (865) 212-9463 They went in and were greeted by the 'armed infidel' himself. Thanks for taking good care of them and I am sure they will help spread the word about your store. They enjoyde visiting and meeting you and appreciated the good prices....by the way...love the little Ruger Thanks Rick
  20. What are the hours tomorrow? Thanks
  21. My 1st show in years...walked away with a nickel Smith snubbie...model 36, no dash...showed the guy he had the wrong box for it and saved 100:) Going back tomorrow after doing some homework tonight...got my eyes on a couple items...
  22. I have one of the Sig522 that came as a set 1 of 2000 with the Sig556 Swat Patrol. I have an eotech on the 556 and it is awesome, just wish I had a magnifier past 50-75 yards. I would like a high quality scope or similar device for the 522. Any ideas? Will a centerfire scope work on this? It has been years since I have bought a scope and I have a Bushnell 3-10 that I played with yesterday and the groups were not as good as when I was playing with an under 50.00 red dot. I was once a competitive rifle shooter and want something that can help me improve my game:) Thanks
  23. pm heading your way
  24. I have a SW 'Old Army' Model 2 that has been hanging in the safe with lots of new friends. Can anyone tell me more about it's condition and value? I have no attachment and would sell/trade it if I felt that I was being treated fairly and had a pretty good idea of it's worth. It seems to function well and all the parts move and work. It's serial number is 10449, so it was during the Civil War era. Any info or reputable dealer help would be appreciated. Ihave posted a similar question on the Smith and Wesson forum. Thanks Rick
  25. I shoot with my two 'kids' all the time. Here is my daughter yesterday after I made the trip down to Winchester and HeroGear.... came back with a Sig556 and a matching 522... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDszkFIGepI
