    Good News

It's definitely not too expensive for anything with a carburetor. I only use 100% gas in my motorcycle, mowers, weedeater, etc. I wouldn't care if it was $5/gal, I will not put E10 in anything with a carb. Fixing the damage is too much aggravation.
  3. It's been in the 40's since yesterday in most all these areas. If it snows really hard it may pile up, but it'll be gone in 24 hrs.
  4. Yep, the Piedmont or Upstate. Generally all of SC north of I-85. Most of my family is from Spartanburg.
  5. Why go to a class to carry a stick when you can carry a sword?
  6. Yep. And we've had a few small ones in the past few years. We typically keep enough supplies to last for a couple weeks, but a couple months would put a major hurt on a lot of people. Thankfully, disaster response has improved tremendously in the fairly recent past. I wouldn't want to rely solely on being rescued, but it's good to know that help would likely come.
  7. South Carolina, many years ago.
  8. My aunt taught brothers named lemonjello and orangejello.
  9. Wow on both accounts. A friend's wife is a nurse in a birthing unit. She says it's pretty routine to see paperwork for babies with rather odd names. They've questioned a few and given the parents an extra day to think about whether that "unusual" name is really a good idea. Sometimes they reconsider, sometimes not.
  10. There's so much going wrong there... no final harness check by anyone. The instant the pilot discovered the problem he should've put that thing on the ground immediately. Turn around and descend, drop it in one of those yards, anything but continue down the hill. I'd call a broken wrist and torn bicep pretty serious injuries, he can't use either arm for 6-8 weeks and they'll take months to fully heal.
  11. Welcome. Church carry isn't specifically prohibited unless posted here. That's all I can think of.
  12. Did it for both my boys before they were 2. Definitely worth it.
  13. I think she wanted to go for a ride. Or got spooked by something she heard/smelled that you can't hear/smell.
  14. In.
  15. That's a strange one. If you're gonna shoot the guy, hold the dog. If you're gonna release the dog, give it a chance to do its job, which I'm certain it will quite effectively.
  16. He's probably right in that if guns aren't in cars anymore, the number of car burglaries will go down. But I'd guess the number of home burglaries will go up, and the potential collateral damage of a home burglary is MUCH higher than a car.
  17. I was being a bit facetious, but criminals are gonna get their guns from somewhere. If people aren't going to leave them in cars anymore, the criminals are gonna go to the next easy place.
  18. So he'd prefer they start breaking into houses to get guns instead of unoccupied cars?
  19. Same here. I don't have a convienent place to shoot rifles, which makes it even harder to find the time.
  20. I always liked the look of those. It'd make a cool sleeper.
  21. Tagged for more in depth reading when I have more time.
  22. .223 or .243 or 6.5. .270's and bigger thump pretty good, especially in a light weight hunting rifle. An accurate hit with a small bullet beats a miss with a big bullet every time.
  23. Your only obligation is to confirm the buyer is legally alllowed to own a firearm. How you do that isn't defined. Most people just ask. No paperwork is required.
  24. Bummer. He was a fantastic musician. I still don't know how a guy with hands that big played that fast.
  25. If the guy was dangerous enough to confiscate his guns, he was dangerous enough to warrant more than 2 cops at the door. They shouldn't have let it get to the point of physical struggle. Nothing good comes from a wrestling match. Again, back off, de-escalate, give it time for cooler heads to prevail.... especially since the house is already surrounded (hence more than 2 cops). There has to be more steps between zero and gun fight. If the guy comes out shooting, fine. If the guy just says no, show him a little respect, act like an adult, and talk it out. If that doesn't work, gas the house and maybe that will help him decide. As you say, it's all armchair quarterbacking. Stuff like this is maddening.
