  1. I suppose they could pressure him to resign.
  2. The police chief typically reports to the city/county mayor, so the state governor wouldn't directly fire a city police chief. However, the governor can lean hard on the mayor to do so.

    Cetme or PTR

More accurate, more reliable guns are always more fun. Save a few extra bucks and get an AR10 or FAL. Or find a 308 AK. Those are FUN.
  4. Good game, I expected it to be closer. Obviously not the favorite here in TN, but anyone who beats Alabama can't be all bad...
  5. I believe it was a Rural King email, but I saw an ad for an M&P-15 Sport for $379. Wow.
  6. I installed the Apex aluminum trigger (not the sear, springs, etc.) because my finger tends to go to the middle of the radius, right on the hinge. When I pull, it doesn't reliably hinge the trigger and disengage the safety first, so I'd get a big pop when it would release. Never caused an unexpected discharge, but clearly not good for accuracy. The blade style aluminum trigger doesn't do that, and it's a little less mushy too. I haven't shot a 2.0 either. I feel sure it's better, but I'd expect the same issue with the hinge.
  7. This x1000. Some nitwit near me with an "I'm compensating for something" truck has LED headlights that are just plain hateful. Last time he got behind me, I pulled off into a side street just to get him ahead of me.
  8. Get LED replacements. Friend of mine did that to his outback and the LED's have been in there for years. It was pain to convert as I saw pictures of what looked like the whole front clip scattered around his garage, but it seems to have been worth it.
  9. I did stop and browse in the Columbia location a few years ago. Nice enough and a big place for sure, I was sorely tempted to spend a lot of money. Good thing I was broke after a week at the beach.
  10. I built a frankenFAL. It's a big, heavy gun, but it's fun.
  11. I have a Shield and have been happy with it. More so since I installed an Apex trigger. The hinged factory trigger just didn't work well for me. Its too big for me to pocket carry, but it conceals very well in a good belt holster. As for weight, I find it's more about balance than total weight. I find carrying 2 spare mags opposite the gun less fatiguing than the gun by itself. And a good gun belt makes all the difference.
  12. A Kentucky longrifle or 1874 Sharps that's affordable.
  13. Him and Mean Gene both passed today.
  14. Try your local public library or a used book store. You might be surprised at what you find.
  15. With my kids, the chromebooks are rather surprisingly not very locked down. My pc at work has more restrictions. Yes, they do a lot of work online because it costs a lot less than paper books. It's also much easier to administrate because the teacher gets a report of who's done what. The history related work my 5th grader has done has been very relevant and fact based. Some stuff I knew and some I didn't. I haven't detected any significant "spin" in the lessons, just simple facts surrounding people, places, and events. They're not presenting some of the darker moments, but I'm ok with that at his age.
  16. Welcome!
  17. Welcome!
  18. Peated scotch has a strong burned dirt taste. There is nothing smooth about it.
  19. It's whisky made in Scotland. Like bourbon is whisky made in Kentucky. And peated scotch is awful. That's all I know. And this
  20. Wow. My local store has created a bourbon club. When they get limited/rare/special stuff, they do a random drawing and contact you to say you can come get one, and only one, bottle of whatever they've got. Seems the knoxville hipster whisky snobs are mucking it up for everyone.
  21. Interesting. You must look suspicious. My wife always has her bag checked. Last time the security guy found her folding knife and said, "put that in your pocket and I'll act like I didn't see it." I've always walked right through, no questions asked.
  22. Interesting collection. My will says my boys have to flip a coin for first pick.
  23. I read there have been at least 6 minor quakes since that bigger one a week or two ago.
  24. Welcome!
