  1. Start with a center drill and use some oil or other coolant. Use the appropriate rpm for the type of drill bits you have. You don't want to get the stainless very hot. The hotter you get it, the harder it is to drill through.
  2. My how times have changed. Would love to know the circumstances of this picture.
  3. Yep. All the areas surrounding knoxville have grown tremendously in the past decade. We have a saying that all these other areas (Maryville, Sevierville, etc.) were great places to live 150,000 people ago. They're not small towns anymore and have outgrown the infrastructure. Rush hour traffic in all these places is bad now... it's become normal to take 2-3 cycles to get through traffic lights at major intersections.
  4. Especially when they sing in Spanish...
  5. This came across my pandora while working out the other day. I discovered it's hard to lift while headbanging and laughing at the same time. You just can't beat a heavy metal accordion.
  6. It will look completely different from what you remember. You can shoot on your own property outside the city limits. Your issue will be neighbors and noise. ORSA is the go-to place for high power, IDPA, etc.
  7. Less expensive option... manually cycle the slide a few hundred times, then clean it and lube it. .380's can be picky about what ammo they like. If the failures were the CD ammo, try something different.
  8. Yep... remember when you only had a vague notion of where a place was within a few miles and you actually had to drive around and find it? Being accordionated is a rapidly dying skill. I used to spend hours "navigating" with the map in my lap on family road trips. And I put that in quotes because Dad already knew where to go, he was just cross-checking my map reading skills. What many people don't realize is how often their GPS is just guessing, especially here in the mountains.
  9. Indeed. And don't forget the AOW.

Do you carry 1911's cocked and locked? I'm more comfortable with a glock with a round in the chamber than a 1911 cocked and locked. Interesting how different perspectives can be.
  11. Wow. I hadn't heard of a Syrian M48 and I sure wouldn't have expected it to be in such good shape. Nice!
  12. Fair points. My assumption is (was) an HCP would be necessary to have on your person, but you don't need a HCP to carry on your own property, and since the car is considered an extention of your home, so... ??? As for being young and irresponsible, I doubt there's any noticeable difference between 18 and 21. If anything, I probably had more fun in my early 20's than I did right after high school.
  13. There's a spider on the ceiling!!!
  14. I don't think they're disregarding or making up their own rules. I suspect the person who answers the phone either didn't fully understand the question, or doesn't know the law, or both. None of that surprises me. The law is pretty clear as far as TN laws go, an 18-21 year old can have a handgun in the car as long as it's not on their person. Having it in some sort of lockable container would help. Not getting pulled over would help a lot.
  15. Sounds like they did you a favor by just asking you to cover it up. It helps keep the sheeple from getting excited.
  16. I'd say they were dual purpose. A little dirt never hurt anyone, right?
  17. I'd guess he just finished basic.
  18. I EDC a ThruNite Ti3 AAA as well. Great little light. Low is great for minimal light in the dark and high is darn impressive for a single AAA.

Try before you buy. Find a range with rentals and have her try everything they have. Try stuff you don't think you'll like, you might be surprised.
  20. Happy Easter y'all!

  22. A bad couple days that would test the faith of the most devoted for sure.
  23. There's no incintive for a mechanic to fix parts today. They're pushed to flip cars as fast as possible and to replace parts that might not have needed it because of how the business is structured...
  24. It all depends on what the prey is.
