What Dave said. We use Lenovo machines at work and while fairly rudimentary, they seem to survive the shop floor abuse reasonably well. Higher end machines are Dells. I'm also in the market for a new PC, which will largely be an internet terminal. We don't do anything at home that requires significant horsepower. Our MIS person told me to sign up for the Dell email notifications. Get a decent machine, max out the RAM and it should run fine for years to come. I've seen decent desktop CPU's for $400-$500. I've already got all the peripherals, all I need is the box.

Yet another reason lead free is not a bad thing...

Bald Eagles are raptors, and they're aren't any true buzzards in North America. What people refer to as a buzzard is usually a Turkey Vulture. -

I believe its based on how the property is taxed, so if you're zoned agricultural and pay property taxes at the farm rate, then you have a farm as far as the .gov is concerned.

I don't discriminate, I'd shoot the cat, my wife, and the kids.

Interesting that there's not an oil light or low pressure cut off. Engines must not cost that much to replace.

Neat idea. A guy I work with made me a target out of a cardboard box filled with the 2 part expanding foam used for packaging and shipping stuff. A 60lb draw compound penetrated 6-8" at 15 yds.

We were at the game Saturday and it was entertaining for sure. I'm glad the rain stayed away. Not sure what they're up to with the QB thing. They'd better be careful with Jennings, he's not used to being hit by 330lb linemen. Gaurantano played pretty well. I don't fault him at all for his fear of getting hit. He's gotten pounded for several years behind a line that couldn't give him more than 3 seconds. Hopefully he's getting some confidence back. Im not sure which 12 and under rec league those officials came from, but they need to go back. I'd love to know how that game ranks for overturned scoring plays. If they qualify, they'll definitely get a bowl game. The powers that be know they won't have any trouble selling 60,000 tickets to UT fans.

Wow. That's a huge copperhead and it's color is fantastic. Most of the ones I've seen are much more grey.

Sorry to hear that. Prayers for a speedy recovery.

My wife used to work with a raptor rehab group. Most of the birds suffering from lead poisoning had been shot, so they were injured and on the ground where people could see them and get them. A bird that injests lead in something it ate is likely to just drop dead at some point so there's not a good way to count them. I'm sure this one got attention because it was an eagle. Black Vultures and Turkey Vultures are plentiful here so they're not going to get much attention. The California Condor is one of the more well known examples. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_condor -

It doesn't take much. A single lead sinker or shotgun pellet will kill a bird. Birds typically don't pass lead they've injested. Once it hits their stomach, it's there until it dissolves. -
Recommend a handgun and a carry holster for a newbie
peejman replied to jgradyc's topic in Women's Perspectives
I'd lean more toward the pistol for home defense and a handgun class or two beyond the HCP test. Running a carbine inside a house takes more training than most people are interested in. If she decides she enjoys guns and wants to do more, then definitely proceed. -
It's just games with numbers. There's lies, damn lies, and statistics. Normalizing the body count by total population changes the appearance considerably. I'm not saying that's not a reasonable thing to do, just that it's a simple manipulation of the numbers that helps support a narrative. If you convert the data they give to body count, the US ranks 1st and Albania last. But note that doing so results in numbers that don't pass the sniff test, so I don't believe any of it.

Looks like some sort of 4 barreled contraption.

Interesting that there's no forward mount. Hard to tell if this is for shooting birds or people. My guess is birds.

If you're hunting them, yes. If you're eliminating a nuisance animal that's causing damage to property or endangering people, pets, or livestock, no. I see them occasionally near an overgrown creek bottom that passes by several nice subdivisions.

Ask ranges with rentals. Those will be the most highly utilized.
