  1. Welcome!
  2. First vehicle I drove was our 76 Chevy van, two-tone green. Great for a teenage boy's self esteem. And all that stuff you're thinking about a mattress or hot tub in the back.... yeah, no. The first car I bought myself was a 98 Saturn SL2. Great little car, fun with the 5-speed. Wish I hadn't sold it.
  3. You've already done the best thing... go to a well stocked store and see what fits and what doesn't. Most AR pattern rifles are going to be the same. You can add butt pads to increase length of pull if necessary.
  4. I've read a few books recently, and it seems most of the classic old west pistoleros carried 4-8 pistols with 1-2 long guns in scabbards when mounted. That's a formidable amount of firepower readily at hand.
  5. Heres something to think about... car insurance is on the car, not the driver. If you borrow someone's car and wreck it, their insurance covers it, not yours. You might be a nice guy and pay their deductible but the owner of the car is responsible. It's possible their insurance company could sue you for the damages. Depending on the details of the auto policy and how frequently they use the vehicle, you may not need to pay the absurd rates for kids.
  6. $118 per year or month? I think my insurance was about that much monthly. No way I could afford that and a car on my high school part time job money.
  7. I had a choice... Dad said I could drive the POS he provided or I could buy and insure my own POS. Guess what I chose...
  8. I work with several people who drive duallys every day because they haul their camper or ATV trailer 50 miles twice a year. I work with at least one person who does drive a dually just because.
  9. Because most of them have never felt the cold fear of overwhelming physical force.
  10. It'll be like living on the frontier in the 1870's.
  11. I think it's the sun reflecting off the flat side of the bayonet. Look at the angle of the shadows.
  12. That airliner is probably 6-8 miles away when it blows. And there's nothing to say it's engines exploded. It could have been just fire due to the fuel tanks being blown apart as the wings disintegrated.
  13. Look carefully at this picture. There are lots of shrapnel holes in the fuselage, and they're all from the outside inward. Just like a proximity detonation of a SAM.
  14. True. They manufacture Russian designed weapons on Russian made equipment, bought with money we gave them. Yay us.
  15. Welcome! I was a member at Wilderness Road when I lived in Church Hill. Looks like they've made some improvements over the years.
  16. Russians say anything? Nope. Sell Iran even more weapons? Yep.
  17. How else would you get your new pistol from the store to the car?
  18. Heh... I looked at the price of a gallon of milk. $2.19 in 2003, $4.07 in 2019 is what my 10 second google search found. If the military has increased in size during that time, then that's certain to cost more.
  19. We have 3 at work, the newest can print 2 different plastics simultaneously so we can do dissolvable or meltable bridging. They get a lot of use making all sorts of fixtures.
  20. That's only slightly more than normal inflation. Stuff doubles in price about every 20 years.
  21. True, except it's Murvul.
  22. It's the holidays. Everything slows down considerably this time of year.
  23. I made a double batch of pancakes for breakfast New Year's Day. I like peanut butter or whatever fruit preserves we have open on them. Sometimes both.
  24. Good riddance. I hope Trump permitted the local theater commanders to execute the strike under their own authority. It appears to have been very well planned, I doubt this was a target of opportunity. All the talk about stiring the pot... well, yeah. You'd think they'd know Trump is both good at that and enjoys it by now, but I'm probably giving them too much credit. I'm sure this will generate some reprisal attempts on civilian targets because thats how Iran rolls. I hope the powers that be are able to stop them.
  25. This call an FFL and ask. Some will accept firearms from an individual in another state, some only accept from another FFL, its their prerogative. You may have to call a few to find one wiling to help. I don't think it was a straw purchase as they did not Intentionally avoid a background check on the intended recipient. However, ignorance of the transfer process is no excuse.
