Attach the chain so the plate hangs at an angle and isn't perpendicular to the line of fire. https://www.alloutdoor.com/2014/03/29/understanding-safety-steel-targets/

Be sure the plates are held at an angle such that any ricochets are directed down.

Gotta hide the taste with something...

SKS. Rifles are most useful in a rifle caliber. I've never understood pistol caliber carbines.

Why not just have it on your body?

Guidance on CC with a jacket and tie
peejman replied to Morgan88's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
What kind of holster are you using? A typical jacket should make nearly anything disappear. The .gov folks hide Uzi's and MP5's. Whats absurdly obvious to you may not even be noticeable by others. -
The laws are confusing on purpose. If it wasn't, we wouldn't need lawyers to explain them. My memory is that you lose your permit for at least 1 year with a class B, but I can't verify that at the moment. Perhaps worth noting, I'm not aware that anyone has ever been charged for carrying past a sign without significant extenuating circumstances.

I agree. If you're not paying enough attention to see that police car sitting in plain sight, you deserve to pay the stupid tax. What I have issue with is when they hide or use unmarked cars for traffic enforcement. That's doing nothing to improve traffic safety, that's pure revenue generation.

Indeed. Is the goal to make travel safer, or generate revenue?

"Breaking News" Kobe Bryant Killed in Helicopter Crash
peejman replied to The Legion's topic in General Chat
Yes. Highest nearby terrain I see is about 1800ft, so he's 500ft clear at 2300, which is the minimum recommended clearance. The base altitude of the area looks to be about 800ft. There's some 2800ft hills to the south and 3000ft hills well to the east. Where it impacted appears to be roughly 1000ft altitude. Certainly not a fun place to be flying around at low altitude in the fog. I don't see a helipad anywhere near where they were going, so I guess the plan was to land in a parking lot, which is a great way to piss off anyone who parked there. -
"Breaking News" Kobe Bryant Killed in Helicopter Crash
peejman replied to The Legion's topic in General Chat
But the helicopter impacted at the bottom of the hill. Just prior it was at 2300ft, well above any terrain. Its a helicopter, it's really easy to slow forward motion, climb to avoid terrain, and contact ATC if you get confused. Spatial disorientation in the fog? Being pushed to hurry by the passengers? He'd already had to loiter for 15 minutes waiting for traffic clear. -
I just voted and if the 3.3M total votes is accurate, each vote moves the needle about 0.0003%. So I wouldn't expect to see much change.

Be aware that your business can get fined for that. Ours did for having household trash in the dumpster, which prompted cameras. We are required to have a separate service to dispose of electronic waste.
-
Pretty much only the dump. I couldn't find anyone who would recycle one when I replaced my last one.

You're welcome to shoot in woods you own outside city limits. Else, you'll have to go to a range. If you're from out west where "public land" where you can do what you want is relatively common, there's exactly none of that here.

Yes, hogue grips help a lot. I have one on both .380's.
-
Yes, the newer striker fired versions of the Rugers have much better triggers. Personally, I don't see the point of carrying a .380 when the same size gun is available in 9mm. I carry a .380 solely because it's nearly invisible.
-
A miss with a .380 has the same effect as a miss with a 20mm. I've blown holes in 2x4's with my .380's. I wouldn't want to get shot with that. I consider it a "get off me" gun, from contact out to 7 yds. The usual small .380's aren't particularly fun to shoot. I shoot mine to confirm function and that's about it. If I can hit a paper plate 3 times fast at 3 yds with one hand I'm happy. But that doesn't mean they're not accurate. I hit one of those spinning gopher targets 4 of 6 shots at 25 yds with my P3AT. The LCP is nicer than the P3AT in every way, except it's a little bigger. Both fit comfortably in my pocket (with pocket holster) for convienent and invisible summer carry, and I'm not a big guy.

If they drive to work or school every day, yes. If they occasionally need to drive somewhere, maybe not. I presume you're thinking that not telling them is fraud. I'd be curious to see any case law that provides some guidance as to what frequency of use distinguishes between normal and occasional use.

Yes, that's backwards. The paper (which is more than just paper, it's a vapor barrier) always faces toward the heated space, regardless of where it's installed. I'm no expert, but I don't think there's a requirement to insulate anywhere. Most heat is lost through the ceiling and walls, so those are most commonly insulated. My house didn't have insulation in the floors or a vapor barrier in the crawl space when I bought it 13 years ago, it's 25 years old now. I installed both, and more attic insulation, and immediately noticed a difference in how the house felt inside and my AC bill dropped noticeably. I paid someone to do the insulation as they charged me less to install it than I could buy the insulation for.
-
The floor insulation was installed backwards, the facing always goes toward the inside of the home. That's likely the biggest part of the problem. Completing the vapor barrier will help. You'll also need to check for mold and rot in the subfloor. If the closets stay closed all the time, lack of airflow contributes to moisture build-up. If the closets are on an exterior wall, the temperature difference will also contribute.
-
.... because we make lots of money when you add them...
-
Is there a vapor barrier (plastic sheeting) on the ground in the crawl space? Is the fiberglass insulation faced with the backing toward the floor (up)? Any wet spots under the house or drainage issues around the house?
