  1. Thats a good one. Be even better if it came with the voice. I like this one...
  2. Good on your son for providing help. I hope he made sure the threat was gone before rushing over there. Domestic disputes are usually the worst kind.
  3. Wow. That's a lot of good movies and TV shows. Might be fun to see who can name them all.
  4. There's talk of masks becoming a requirement here. If that happens, I'll have to think of the most obnoxious design I think I can get away with.
  5. And grits.
  6. This. I have no issue with 380's, but I also understand it's limitations. It'll blow holes in 2x4 at close range and that's good enough for me. It's a "get off me" gun. While I have hit those spinning gopher targets at 25yds with my P3AT, I don't think of it being useful at more than 10 yds. The subcompact 380s really aren't much fun to shoot, so I wouldn't even go there with someone who's recoil sensitive. The bigger ones are far better in that regard.
  7. I found a replacement ignition module on ebay. It wasn't exactly cheap, but it worked fine. I've also had to replace the recoil rope a time or two. Don't let that spring get away!!! We heated with wood when I was a kid and my saw cut most of it. I just have a fire pit now and use it for trimming or cutting smaller trees for folks. My carb cleaning trick when not in a hurry is to fill it with straight liquid carb cleaner. Sea Foam or Berryman are my preference. Then just as above, let it soak and pull it through over a few days. Works well on 4 stroke stuff too. I think these old saws run so well because the jets are bigger to deal with the heavier oil mix. My Super EZ runs on 35:1. The 50:1 that newer saws use means all the holes are smaller and hence clog easier. But always only use 100% gas. Ethanol wrecks a carb.
  8. If you shoot outside regularly, you'll make friends with the cops whether you want to not.
  9. Yes, any 16" chain should work fine. Mine is a 16 as well, though I think it started life as a 14". I've got 5 chains for it, but I'm down to the last sharp one. The local co-op has a machine that will sharpen a chain for couple bucks.
  10. I've got a Homelite Super EZ from about 1980, it still runs strong. I had to replace the ignition box a couple years ago, and it's probably on its 4th bar.
  11. Good ole George. NSFW
  12. Honestly, I'm happy to let folks who want to hide at home do just that. If they want to sit on the couch and fret their life away, have at it. I'm not going to take unnecessary risks, but I also know how useful worrying is. Life in 21st century America has too much stress already.
  13. Trust, confidence, and credibility... very easy to lose, very hard to regain.
  14. So we should line the drag strip with penguin poo?
  15. You're really going to force me to agree with a Canadian? Really? There's a bit of an inside joke there as my employer's largest facility is in Winnipeg. They run the IT infrastructure which the rest of the corporate world generally hates. My standard reaction when something goes wrong is that its a feature, not a bug. They told us they thoroughly debugged it, so everything it does must be a feature.
  16. Wow. That's a lot of shine.
  17. So that's what those are called.
  18. Agreed. There's plenty of ADHD diagnoses that are more lazy parents than hyperactive kids. In those cases the wrong party is getting whipped. As I've interacted with more ADHD kids (mostly coaching baseball), I've learned that they're much more engaged than you might initially think. I find their fidgeting very distracting when I'm trying to give instruction ( I was raised to sit still and pay attention). But if I force myself to ignore it, a lot of the time they can repeat back what I said to a much greater accuracy than the kids who appeared to be paying attention. It definitely takes some extra shepherding to keep them on task, but that doesn't necessarily correspond to lack of ability.
  19. Most consider big knives scarier than guns. They're much messier, slower, and more painful.
  20. My wife the naturalist also says catalpa tree.
  21. This is my rifle, there are many like it but this one is mine....
  22. We've seen Albannach, Clanadonia, and Clann an Drumma at the various Highland festivals over the years.... Maryville College, Gatlinburg, and Abingdon. They're all great to watch live. I don't know how they make a living doing that, but it sure looks like they have fun doing it.
  23. The rise in popularity has little to do with fish and a lot to do with getting away from family.
  24. I knew kids with all 3. The peanut allergy kids weren't segregated, we knew they were allergic and it wasn't much of an issue. Same with the ADHD kids, they were a little wilder than the rest of us but didn't get any elaborate accommodations. They were expected to behave just like everyone else. The kids with autism did have their own special classes, but we never thought much of it.
  25. Cool. My boys love those cars.
