If Trump wins i expect a few major cities to burn. And that's fine with me, which I'm sure is a bad attitude, but that's what it is. Some folks gotta learn the hard way and I'm happy let them even if my tax dollars are likely to be spent in the clean up. If Biden wins I expect outrage and protests but less general mayhem. Regardless of who wins, the only ones who will profit are the lawyers as there's certain to be suits galore. My suburban area is largely republican, so I don't expect any significant issues. We started homeschooling the kids in 2018 so I expect no impact there. I expect to go to work everyday just like I have all year. We're already stocking up in preparation for the next round of virus panic that's sure to come so the election really isn't changing anything for us. I dont know what it was like here in the 60's, but I have a hard time believing the political climate and general feelings of unrest are not much worse now. Difficult times indeed.

They moved part of their operation. They were making parts across the street from where I work. I guess those folks are likely out of a job. Its a business that employs a substantial number of people in a town that exists because of tourism. In today's climate, I'd presume Daytona gave him whatever he wanted to not move those jobs. Also, Maryville just finished a fancy new access road adjacent to the property he bought here. The city has started marketing property along that road, so I suspect he think he might make a few bucks if he can sell it before his balloon payment is due.

Three years ago SCCY Industries announced amid fanfare from the state plans to build a center in Big Springs Industrial Park that was to include its corporate offices and its primary manufacturing operations. CEO Joe Roebuck told 10News business conditions have since changed and he'll move the firm back to Florida.

What to do with inherited muzzle loaders?
peejman replied to ezrydr's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
What they said. Don't be in a hurry to part with them. I'm guessing this aunt and uncle didn't have any kids of their own? Personally, I think the reproductions are neat but have very little interest in "modern" muzzle loaders. -
I darn near always carry at church, though I haven't been in the building but twice in the last 6 months. Our church is split into 2 buildings across the street from each other. I know we employ one off duty LEO on Sundays, I do not know if there is formal security team or plan. A few church staff have walkie-talkies, but that's all I've seen. All exterior doors are supposed to be locked except those with greeters. Ive been a greeter on many occasions and have been told nothing other than to close the door when the service starts. The building I'm usually in is very old and virtually indefensible. It's been added onto several times, is 3 levels built into a hill, and there's way more exterior doors than could be covered, not to mention all the ground level windows. My guess is the staff thinks a police car sitting in the parking lot at the other building is a talisman that keeps the bad people away. That said, I do not know of any instances of security concerns. Oh yeah... there are a couple very good podcasts on shooters Nation regarding church security. https://www.shootersnation.com/podcast/017-church-safety-security-teams-with-us-navy-seal-william/

I get that, but a 12yr old ADHD kid on his own to connect to school? A toy gun on the screen is probably the least of their worries. I have a 12 yr old and I'm impressed that this kid is doing this on his own routinely.

Wearing a mask while walking outside? We went to the local dirt track Saturday night. While I saw a few masks, no one was wearing one. Not even the concessions workers.

The long arm of the law has found a good excuse to get a little longer. Though in this case I'm a little curious in that I get the impression the parents weren't home when this happened.

I used to work in Rogersville and lived in Hawkins County. My memory is the laws are similar to most other places in TN... you can't shoot within the city limits, you can in the county as long as you've got a good backstop. Hawkins County isn't quite as... cosmopolitan as the more metro areas. Its beautiful and id still be there if I didnt have to move for work.

Sorry to hear that. I'm sure she's chasing critters with Kasey now.

My wife loves that stuff. Her grandmother was born in Liverpool and married a US serviceman. I find some of it hilarious and some of it just plain odd.

Cool. OK, post up your favorite cover songs...

Mid August is about normal for the flu shot to arrive. They usually only push it for older folks this early, but it's usually available about now.

Depends on if its peated or not. Like those really bitter IPA's, I can't handle peated whisky. Bourbon is whisky made in Kentucky. Scotch is whisky made in Scotland.

Glad everyone recovered reasonably, hope you do too.

They're getting every penny's worth of that $100,000 piece of paper.

Welcome!

The rear wheels are very wide to minimize the damage they do, so the grass stays pretty. Consequently, there's also very little traction. So when it gets wet, they get stuck really easily. You might try adjusting (reducing) the air pressure to see if that helps get more bite.

I believe they do require a sponsor. There are several members here, though i am not.

Welcome! ORSA has what you're looking for range wise.

Strange. We always had an open invitation from our kids teachers. My wife went in and helped out a couple days per week.

Reminds me of this one...
