  1. Good stuff! That's not even the full 20" barrel, looks like a 16 or 18". Brazilian cops don't mess around.
  2. A 950lb safe is too heavy for standard residential floor construction unless its footprint is bigger than 3x3ft. While not ideal for all the reasons mentioned, I wouldnt put it on anything other than concrete. Just manage the moisture. Would 2 smaller safes work better than one huge one?
  3. Make owl/raptor habitat. A pair of barn owls with young consume an astounding number of rodents.
  4. Yep, it happened pretty fast.
  5. I've caught bunches of mice with these. I'm not talking about huge quantities, just the 1lb bags from the grocery store. They don't take up lots of space and one bag of bean soup is 10-12 bowls.
  6. Dried beans will keep for years if stored in a cool, dry space (with no critters). As mentioned, vacuum sealing extends that even further.
  7. There's a setting where the forum software automatically recognizes the link and displays it as a photo or video. You may have accidentally turned that off. Or there may be a format issue with the links. I think you can photo tags manually. ... ok, I'm not remembering what the tags are at the moment or maybe they're turned off?
  8. Put penetrating oil on them. Heat them until the oil starts to smoke. Do that 3-4 times and then try the screw extractor with an impact driver. A manual impact driver would probably work better than an electric one in this case.
  9. Doh! A good machinist should be able to remove those fairly readily.
  10. I dont consider it one of those things, its utter mechanical ineptitude. Mostly on the part of the guy I work with. Mostly because he's an idiot. When asked how he was reading the dipstick with the makings not present, I got a shrug. Did the jagged end broken off at an angle not give you a hint?
  11. A guy I work with went back and forth for over a year to the dealer with low oil level in his truck. He'd find the oil way low and top it off, then have several weird problems. He'd take it to the dealer, they couldn't figure it out. He'd get the oil changed, find it low, complain to the dealer, on and on... It took all of them more than a year to discover the bottom inch of the dipstick had broken off. So he'd been way over filling it causing several other problems and hundreds in service bills.
  12. When I was a teenager there was a common speed trap at the bottom of a big hill on a 30mph road. I rode my bicycle on the road a lot then and one day I passed by headed up the hill and saw the police car in the usual spot hiding behind a big subdivision entrance sign. Hmmmm... So I chugged up the hill and paused for a breather. I turned around and was sprinting as hard as I could go when I hit the top of the hill, probably just over 30 mph. I tucked in as best I could and blasted down the hill, past the cop. As I went by, I heard the siren give one blip. I looked back and no police car. Phooey. So I turned around again and rode back up to the police car. Excuse me sir, how fast was I going? You're gonna get yourself hurt. Nah, there's bigger hills around and I'm wearing my helmet. So how fast was I going? You know you have to obey the laws just like cars right? Yes sir, so was I speeding? I heard your siren so I thought maybe I got past 30. That's why I came back. Yeah, right. Go home kid. Aww c'mon... how fast...? I'm gonna give you a ticket if you don't leave me alone. You gave my mom one a few weeks ago. Why won't you tell me? Son... Fine. Party pooper.
  13. Facebook is a great way to keep in touch with a bunch of people you hoped you'd never see again.
  14. I call that the crushed L4.
  15. If this O-line can protect Guarantano reasonably, he's got a good chance to shine in his final season. If they let him get beat up (again), it'll be mediocreville again. He's a really tough kid to have survived the abuse the last 2 years.
  16. The distance requirement is specific to hunting , and I think it's 300 ft. Make sure you have a good, earthen backstop. Noise complaints from the neighbors are the most likely issue, though I wouldn't expect much in Cocke Co.
  17. We have one that belonged to my wife's grandmother. Haven't used it in a long time, but it worked fine when we did.
  18. This site also has a lot of good info. https://thewellarmedwoman.com/
  19. I was gonna say that the info on the web doesn't specifically prohibit either if those. If they're good with spotlights, night vision isn't much of a stretch. It is (and has been) illegal to relocate any wildlife without a permit. My wife used to work with a raptor rehabber. She had to keep a copy of the rehabber's license in her car in the event she got pulled over while transporting the birds. When I finally showed my dad the regs and told him they'd confiscate his truck, he finally quit relocating raccoons and started planting them.
  20. Call his FFL and ask if they'll accept shipment from an individual. If so, just send it yourself and save the $25. If not, the FFL here should log it and provide you a tracking number.
  21. My wife would be "hey baby snakes! Come look!"
  22. There's not much in Knoxville anymore. Gotta drive to Nashville, Asheville, Charlotte, or Atlanta to see much. I always wondered why no one ever comes here, a big tax would explain that.
