  1. Took this while on a business trip to Colorado 2 weeks ago. As for your hunt, get yourself in good hiking shape. It'll be a lot of walking and it's a lot less fun if you're exhausted before you even see the critters.
  2. Commodore 64 FTW!
  3. My boys and I did this very thing a couple weeks ago. Although we removed 6 bolts and set the bed in the yard.
  4. Yeah, cucumbers and okra are ok, but that's about it. We're trading with my neighbors for tomatoes.
  5. It a glock 19 made in the US for $100 less than a glock 19
  6. I have a couple of these.
  7. This. My wife had the same concerns. The rental .38 snubby we tried was the single worst pistol I've ever shot. She said my .45 compact was easier to shoot, and settled on a Shield 9.
  8. It'd take an hour in the oven to warm up. Heat-treater's rule of thumb, 1 hr per inch of section thickness. Those walls look close to an inch thick. You'd have to remove the handle as well, else it'll be too hot to hold. Same if you put it in the fridge to keep it cold. Would the man cards gained by using it be lost by using it with a straw?
  9. It'd be better with Duke's.
  10. My hope is that this will help all realize the impact the divisive and inflammatory rhetoric is having, and maybe some grown-ups will appear. That would be the real miracle.
  11. Not remotely accurate. A Tesla supercharger outputs 250 kW. If it takes 45mins to charge the car, that's 187.5 kWhr. Google says a typical home uses 30 kWhr daily, so that's 6.25 homes worth of power. And no, I don't own an EV. I just noticed the units presented didn't make sense.... kW vs. kWhr .... so I did the math.
  12. What vehicles were these that needed engines, transmissions, and AC replaced under warranty? Those are the 3 most expensive systems in most cars.
  13. My wife's granddad said he liked the corn harvest because they got toilet paper again. The cobs amd husk worked fine before they dried. Once dry, the cobs would go in the wood fired oven.
  14. ATF is highly detergent and it's possible it will un-stick a stuck lifter. But it's a temporary fix. If the lifter is stuck, it's likely worn or the bore is worn and it'll stick again at some point. It's also likely damaging the cam, so that lobe will get worn down. Assuming it's still got good oil pressure, at least 40psi?
  15. James Maynard Keenan, singer for Tool as well.
  16. Or JB Weld, or bailing wire, or
  17. Indeed. Along those lines, it totally breaks my brain when I see $100k in cars sitting in the driveway with $1000 in junk filling up the garage.
  18. Veggies are in the ground finally. They seem happy.
  19. Welcome!
  20. I think of minimum wage and a living wage as 2 different things. Minimum wage is for those with no skills or experience, such as high school kids getting their first job. Once they gain some skills and experience, their value should increase to earn a living wage. I know it doesn't work that way, but it should.
  21. I had to explain the difference to my kids a few years ago, mostly because they wanted to wish their grandpa a happy Memorial Day. No, we wish grandpa a happy Veteran's Day.
  22. Missing the floorboard vents. I miss those.
  23. That sounds about right. My high school job paid $5.25/hr and gas was $0.79/gal. Gas has gone up 4x so pay should be about $21/hr to match. Minimum wage was never meant to be career, but that's a different thread.
  24. My wife and I did the same thing before we got married... crappy apartments, sketchy roommates, cheap cars, Ramen, and hamburger helper. We were both super happy when we got our own apartment after we got married. Our first big purchase was a washer and dryer. So nice to not have to go to the laundromat. So yeah, some suffering through less than ideal life makes one appreciate it more when you can finally get decent stuff. It's about not keeping up with the Jones's and keeping your eye on the prize. That said, life is much more expensive now. I have a 16 yr old and we're in the process of figuring out a car for him. I recall my sister getting a $2000 car when she turned 16 in 1988. $2000 then is $5000 now. What you get today for $5000 is much worse than what my sister got back then. Along the same lines, if we were moving now, we wouldn't be able to afford the house we've lived in for 15 years. Housing costs are outrageous.
