  1. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Welcome to police work 101.
  2. Journalism is dead. That whole community seems to have fallen into the abyss. I wonder if Knox County intends to address the problems or take a nod from Cook County and just ignore it? I can't imagine Jacobs would cop to that, but time will tell.
  3. I know a few who do that, the guy you got your dog from and a couple others. Its a business for him and a hobby for the others. They make some cash as they have fairly high rent dogs, registered dogs. The puppies go for 2-3x what you paid. They also have kids to help with the work. It'll occupy nearly all your time for 8 weeks. Mallagators can be difficult to home. Not everyone has the time, place, or disposition to deal with one. Without papers, I think youd be hard pressed to make much money.
  4. You cannot drive on a sandy, rocky road/trail with 2 flat tires, especially when they're both on the same side. A jacked up Jeep won't get far, and a stock Subaru sure won’t either. They were experienced in the back country and had supplies. They knew where they were going and left a note to tell others. Perhaps they though they would meet others there.
  5. Better be more like 10G after all this foolishness. Not much point in that, I'm an old married guy.
  6. I was hoping for something more useful... growing a 3rd arm, x-ray vision, ... alas, no such luck. Maybe the 2nd one will.
  7. I'd also put berms around or floor drains under the major water appliances. If your water heater or clothes washer springs a leak when you're not home, there's no reason it should flood half the house. An ounce of prevention....
  8. That's on my "if I ever build a house" list. Manifold style plumbing, all 1/4 turn ball valves, ability to isolate and drain zones without shutting off main supply.
  9. It doesn't take much for the top layer to dry out.
  10. My wife and I got our 1st dose of Pfizer on Friday. I didn't feel bad but had no energy Saturday, I was better on Sunday. She had no effect other than the usual sore shoulder.
  11. Just saw that headline a little while ago. Glad you're safe. Any idea what started it?
  12. There's a very fine line between not leaking when closed, not leaking when open, and not being able to open. And it varies with the season due to thermal expansion.
  13. Of course you'll have the good taste not to mention that I spoke to you. De camp town ladies? Baby please! I am not from Havana. this could go on for a while....
  14. And 4 minutes of that is the credits.
  15. You can tighten it so much that you can't turn the faucet on. If you keep tightening, you can bend the internal parts and potentially make it leak internally, but that would be a major Bubba thing to do.
  16. Yep. I was pleasantly surprised at all the empty parking lots i saw during our travels across town today.
  17. If the above is true, get a few #37 or #38 drill bits and make yourself a sieve.

  19. The best blast cabinet you can get is someone else's.
  20. My parents usually have a flock of about 20 turkeys that hang around the house. Not unusual to see them working along the fence. Up until opening day that is. The night before opening day, they disappear and remain unseen until June.
  21. Hotchkiss?
  22. My wife has tomato and pepper seedlings coming up. We've got carrots and peas in the ground. Beware of the potential for a hard freeze later this week.
  23. I'm curious what you guys carry that becomes too much for cargo pockets? I carried a sling bag when my kids were in diapers but I was happy to not need it when they grew out of that.
  24. As a former design engineer for various consumer products, I can assure you our legal system disagrees. The concept of "reasonably foreseeable misuse" is a thing. Personally, I think it's asinine. Individual responsibility be damned and all that. But I've been involved in a case and known of several others.
