  1. What type of unit? I had a gas furnace at a prior house that randomly wouldn't light on cold mornings. Several HVAC guys couldn't figure it out. It took me 2 years to find a cracked igniter relay solder joint on the circuit board. Took less than 5 minutes to fix.
  2. We saw it last night as well, pretty cool. Our window is fairly narrow as there's a tree covered hill directly southwest of our house. It disappears behind the hill pretty early.
  3. Agreed, it's fine. I've shot plenty of HV ammo through dads Ruger MKI. I suppose muzzle erosion is a possibility eventually, but I think that would take a lot of shooting.
  4. The Tesla Model 3 ($40k) is anywhere from 2-4 times the cost of a Corolla ($20k) or Sentra ($15k), assuming you can find one. Jet engine companies improve fuel efficiency because their customers (the airlines) demand it. Jet fuel is the airline's single biggest expense. There are currently no federal fuel efficiency requirements for commercial aircraft.
  5. This guy is awesome.
  6. They usually have several Sevier County deputies on site.
  7. That's new. In the past its been purely security theater.
  8. Indeed, good movie.
  9. Hang in there. It'll get worse before it gets better, but it will get better.
  10. This is basically what our MIS girl at work did for my home pc. I managed to break it and it wouldn't boot off a flash drive, even after telling it to do that in bios. She had a boot CD and was able to get to to boot off that and then mostly unbreak what I messed up.
  11. Wow, that was fast. Glad you're up and moving. Good luck with the recovery.
  12. Was it in clear liquid form?
  13. Similar thing happened to a friend except he hit the deer. The cop told him it's a lot less paperwork if you shoot it....
  14. I wouldn't call the vaccines completely unknown. The various manufacturers have trialed their version on tens of thousands of people over the past 6 months or so. It appears the UK approved it before our FDA and they're administering it faster, so there's tens of thousands more. Just scanning through the data shows about 0.5% had allergic reactions.
  15. Dad had an epidural both times. He was awake and annoying the surgeon with questions during the procedure. We told the surgeon he should wear a gopro on his head and mount a screen to the ceiling so people like dad can watch it live. The pain meds they inject during surgery will get you through day 1. Day 2 is when it really starts to hurt. Dad went home after 1 night both times. He's definitely the "tough guy" but it was clear that it really hurt the following few days. I agree to get off the opiates as soon as you can. I think dad was down to advil after about 5 days.
  16. I should have suggested this. The one my dad used came from my sister, who had knee surgery years ago. She got it from one of her friends who bought it. Point being, ask around, you might find one you could borrow/rent/buy. This is the problem dad has. He quit the therapy and both knees have tightened back up considerably. I catch him still doing the "penguin waddle" walk sometimes. I ask if his knees hurt, he says no, and starts walking normally. The lack of flexibility is most obvious when he's on stairs.
  17. Dad has had both of his done. I learned 3 things from his experience.... do the therapy, do the therapy, and don't ever stop doing the therapy. These things can be a little noisy, but they're great for keeping swelling down. https://www.amazon.com/Cryotherapy-Circulating-Personal-Universal-Inflammation/dp/B07G9K1J6K
  18. I usually just tell them they're gonna have to rephrase that, preferably in English. And there's a 20-something guy here who does the like thing as well. I give him crap about it routinely. I'm a bit surprised you can get them to speak at all.
  19. Vaccines don't prevent transmission, they prevent symptoms. The anti-vax crowd has proven that viruses once thought eradicated are still around. Of course there are millions of asymptomatic carriers of dozens of viruses, thats been true for decades.
  20. I read this story a while back. Its all about risk vs. reward. I could never do this.... https://thehustle.co/how-i-made-13-million-cryptocurrency-ethereum/
  21. Cases have risen so fear of impending lock down is back.
  22. Trout is delicious. I'd be a lot more interested in fishing for them if the licenses weren't so complicated.
