My F-I-L got into genealogy a while back and found that William Wallace (the Braveheart guy) is their 16th great uncle, so apparently I'm obligated to not like you now.

Doctors and researchers, no. The bean counters who run the business that employs them, possibly (Martin Shrekli, Heather Bresch, ). It's an argument against privately funded medical research. The .gov doesn't care about ROI.

It seems fairly commonly known that the antibody test is woefully inaccurate from a statistical perspective. Only 70-80% based on this... https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/which-test-is-best-for-covid-19-2020081020734

I did that with mine as well. Pretty easy and came out nice.

I've got a CRKT Woods Chogan, its a handy camp sized axe. Not in the same category as Granfors, but functional for my needs.

So when should we come over for the BBQ?

Don't use Slime with aluminum wheels, it causes very rapid corrosion from the inside out. It's also a PITA to clean out of the wheel and makes the tire difficult to balance.

After just replacing all my worn out quick connects, I've learned this..... https://toolguyd.com/quick-guide-to-air-line-couplers-plugs/ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085QLQX3R/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_RvB-FbSZR1SBG?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Once I got an air compressor, i wondered what I did before. I have a small 1 gal Husky brand and a bigger 20 gal Harbor Freight one. The husky one is nice for topping stuff off, but its too small to air up a flat car on a single tank. The HF one is 10-12 years old. It blew the head gasket a few years ago, but was easy to fix. Its starting to wear out and has always leaked a little oil. I also have one of those 12V mini compressors in each vehicle. As mentioned, they're really slow, but better than walking.

Agreed. And SCOTUS has addressed this fairly recently. I think it would take some very creative work to spin it in a different way.

Several times in the past (pre metal detectors), the guard inspecting my wife's purse found her folder, palmed it, handed it to her, and quietly said "put this in your pocket please." Good to know they'll let smaller blades go. It's not like they have metal tableware in the restaurants...

Upgraded to Lifetime HCP.

Same here. I couldn't justify it strictly on a financial basis, but it does protect against future cost increases and its one less thing i have to mess with. -
No, it's not reusable. But it does a good job of capturing geometry that's hard to do otherwise.

We have reprorubber and an optical comparator at work. Same basic idea as cerrosafe, but without the molten metal.

Cool rifle, shame its been modified. If you were closer, I would be happy to handle the chamber and bolt face measurements.

The common mistake made with the scientific method is the motivation behind the experiment(s) is to disprove the hypothesis. And you keep experimenting until you can't disprove it. Else its too easy to end up with a self fulfilling result, which is what the funding agency typically wants. Quick answers, not exhaustive research in our instant gratification society.

You have your opinion, I have mine. I'm not kicking this dead horse anymore.

The rest of the story.... We were told at closing by the prior owners that they had placed the rebar. One of my friends tripped over one of the posts while helping us move in and got a nice gash in his shin, which highlighted the problem. We considered a fence, but having just bought the house, and spending 2 months paying rent and a mortgage while repainting and replacing floors in the evenings, we didn't have the cash. And I don't really like fences anyway. I offered to swap the rebar for PVC and he refused. I covered the rebar with PVC, he sawed the PVC in half and left it in my mailbox. Through the course of all this, he never even asked what my name was. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, mine is that using 5 rebar posts to mark a straight, 100 ft residential property line that's otherwise identified by electrical boxes is stupid. I don't have a lot of tolerance for stupid, particularly when my kids' safety is involved. If that makes me a gun grabbing Karen, so be it.

Keep in mind that a typical homeowner's policy has a $2500 limit for guns. If you want to buy up to a higher limit, they usually require you to document what you've got and its value. Same for art, jewelry, musical instruments, etc..

I didn't have to deal with cranky old neighbors as a kid, but I have as an adult. My previous next door neighbor was a hateful old bastard. When we moved into the subdivision, he had the property line marked with several rebar posts sticking about 24" out of the ground. My oldest was a toddler so the idea of rusty rebar posts in the grass at my son's eye level was totally not acceptable, so I pulled them up. He came charging out of the house yelling at me that those were his posts. I explained (politely at first) that they were a danger to my child and its not my problem if he can't remember where the property line is after 15 years in the same house. Its not like I'm going to leave a 12" strip of unmowed grass down the line. We had a couple subsequent conversations about it and I eventually told him to ask his lawyer friends if they think a jury would side with a toddler who lost and eye or a mean old man? We never spoke again. Thankfully they moved away a few years later and a really nice couple moved in.

You've stepped on a 2x4 full of nails that someone else hid in a place you might walk? If left untreated, say by a kid who got hurt somewhere they knew they shouldn't have been but was afraid to tell a parent because they knew they'd get in trouble, tetanus can be fatal.
