Dad fixed his nearly world famous shrimp and grits. His recipe is unique. I really like shrimp and grits and try it when restaurants offer it, but I've never had it like he makes it. He added scallops to it because my older boy loves them.

Yep, my bike is 2" from the front, the right side is inaccessible because of the mower, and I can't open the left side doors all the way because of the yard tools. But it fits. My wife's van is accessible all the way around and there's room to open the hatch with the garage door closed. Growing up, our garage was always Dad's wood shop. We never parked cars in it. So one of my priorities was to be able to park my car in my garage, once I got one.

Dad has had both knees replaced. When he started therapy for the 1st one, he made a comment that's stuck with me.... He said he had no idea how weak he'd gotten. If you routinely park a car on top of it, how quickly can you access it? Flooding is definitely a concern, but I feel sure the folks who design these things have given that and the possibility of debris piling up on top of it more than a passing thought.

If you're keeping all this inside the house, I hope the house is on a slab. That aside, store the ammo in anything you like. Barring natural disaster, it'll last longer than you. Any sort of desiccant in the containers will suffice.

Give that inhaler a pull before you go for a walk, that's what it's for. I'm not a doctor, but have had allergy related asthma issues. While it may be called a "rescue" inhaler, you don't have to use it that way. I was advised to use it as a preventative measure before I exercised instead of waiting until i felt the constriction. Asthma is worse in cold weather. You'll probably feel better and be able to walk further, which helps you feel better, which helps you walk further....

Yep. I would like to find more time for exercise. I don't enjoy running, I do enjoy cycling, but between the traffic and my youngest coming along, I stick to the greenbelt and neighborhood. Exercise to feel better, eat to manage weight. Easy preaching, hard living. For me it's portion control. I'm a stress eater and when it's good, it's hard to stop before I'm stuffed. @Grayfox54... stick with the walking. Do you have an inhaler to help keep you open long enough to make it through your walk?

My older one gets the idea of the spirit of Santa, I think the younger one still believes. I think the spirit of Santa, the joy of giving, is important, but they both know that Jesus is the reason for the season. I'm also very frustrated by the extreme commercialization of Christmas. While we still give plenty of things (probably too many), we've tried to shift more to experiences rather than things.

The trick is to match the weather induced dimensional changes of the barreled action to the stock it's sitting in so they both move together. Problems arise when the two are dramatically different... such as a wood stock in a steel rifle. Strangely enough, carbon fiber reacts opposite to steel in that it shrinks with increasing temperature.

Thanks for the stereotype. Society has removed many of the stress outlets for kids. They don't get into fist fights at recess or after school because fighting is wrong. Conflict resolution isn't taught anywhere. Instead it seems to be better to bottle up all that angst until it burns them up from the inside or explodes.

Not really, as most of mine stay locked up in my cabinet. My kids could get into it of they really wanted to, but I try to diffuse their curiosity by letting them see/handle them when they ask. I wish I could take them shooting more often, but bb guns in the backyard is about as good as it gets these days.

Amen. A question that remains for me is ... Is this really a new, novel, unique thing? Or is this perfectly normal stuff that's been happening for decades that because we're looking for it now, we're finding it. A similar situation happens at my work fairly regularly. A new inspector sees something with different eyes and finds a condition no one really paid mind to before. The immediate reaction isz this condition is bad and suddenly every part has it, there's panic in the streets, .... Then some actual analysis is done, data is reviewed, the condition has likely been there all along, and its not really that big of a deal. Until the next new thing shows up.
