  1. Beat me to it! First thing that came to mind when I read the thread title.
  2. Just depends on how bad you want to reload it. Most of the surplus (spam can) stuff has a corrosive berdan primer. While berdan primers can be removed, it ain't the easiest thing to do. What Mike suggests is a good option or Privi Partizan makes some soft point ammo... Prvi Partizan PPU 7.62x54R 150grn SP 20rd Box Looking a little further, there's several hunting rounds available... S&B, Hornady, Brown Bear... Ammo Rifle - 7.62x54r at Sportsman's Guide
  3. Interested. A weekend afternoon is typically best. It'll be a crap shoot with the weather this time of year. You can't be sure what it'll be like tomorrow, much less a month from now. I'd prefer it NOT be the last weekend in Feb. That's my young'uns b'day (26th).
  4. There is effectively no difference between 0W20 and 5W30 in our climate. That said, I wouldn't go any higher than 5W30 in it. The synthetic oil is pricey, but when you consider the typical 10k mile change interval, it's not so bad. Having just looked... Advance Auto has a store brand full synthetic 5W20 for $4.79/qt. If, by chance, you're not familiar with what 5W30 or 0W20 really means, read this... HowStuffWorks "What does the weight mean on a can of motor oil?"
  5. The waiting can be very frustrating... been there, done that. It's a fine line to walk between being a pest (or appearing desperate) and simply being professional when delays happen and repeated follow-ups are necessary. Hang in there. Having worked in the auto industry for 7 years, I'd consider it a last resort.
  6. Here's a tour of the NE portion... it'll take most of a day. Pigeon Forge, TN to Pigeon Forge, TN - Google Maps Here's a south-eastern tour from Pigeon Forge Pigeon Forge, TN to Pigeon Forge, TN - Google Maps
  7. I just finished off a bottle of Bushmills. Very nice. I'll trust you fine folks will give me plenty of recommendations for my next trip to the store in a few days.
  8. You'll have to steer well clear of the metro areas to find something like that. People tend to want $2000+/ac for 60deg sloped mountain sides around here. You might find something like that in upper east TN (the far east, as we call it). I used to live there, and loved it. There's lots of really pretty country around... generally anything east of Lebanon, IMO. As for the best way to see it... lots and lots of driving. Find an area you like? Ask. Seems like we've got members from virtually everywhere who'll provide honest opinions.
  9. Not new at all. Coonan has been making these for nearly 30 years. Coonan - Company News
  10. Our dependence on foreign oil will end when they run out of oil. Would you rather use up our own reserves before, or after that happens?
  11. Based on the chart below, it would seem that fuel prices were unusually low through the 90's and have simply corrected. It's foolish to think our administration has any influence on gas prices. As the world's primary consumer, you 'd think we have some control, but the guys who own the wells hold all the cards. 12. Gas already is nearly $9/gallon in many places in Europe. We enjoy relatively low prices here.
  13. Sounds neat. I'll be curious to hear how it turns out.

    Need help deciding

If my choice, Marlin all the way.
  15. Looks yummy, though you forgot the gravy for the 'taters.

    Welcome!
  17. I am (was). Happy meals are awesome!
  18. Glad you had a good experience. People tend to expect way too much from the kid working the counter for $8/hr. If you fired the XD with no issue, sounds like your wife may need to strengthen her hands and forearms. Or just practice a little more.
  19. Nice safe! Hope the floor it's sitting on is up to the load. I used my year-end bonus to supersize my happy meal.
  20. This applies to most any semi-automatic weapon. Slingshot the bolt, that's the only way.
  21. Two chicks? Dood... with $100M, dream a little bigger. Think Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.... all of them. But seriously.... Tiger made one, and only one mistake. He got married. In his world of mega-rich superstar athletes, no one would have cared if he had 16 girlfriends and 5 kids out of wedlock. He obviously could afford them. The media would've over looked it because of who he is. However, since he presented this "Mr. Perfect" family man image, when the crap hit the fan, they crucified him. He grew up with a poor example of how a husband should treat a wife (from his own father) so I suspect it was doomed from the beginning.
  22. Me too. I started shooting left handed but a minor astigmatism that developed in my left eye, combined with being right eye dominant forced me to learn to shoot right handed. I'm still more comfortable shooting a long gun left handed, but I see better out of my right eye.
  23. Welcome!
  24. I'll admit to being a Clemson fan. Yeah.... that was ugly. Turn-overs didn't help things, but that shovel pass was brutal. Glad I turned it off at half-time.
  25. FWIW... this happened in 2006.
