  1. This. And keep it concealed.
  2. I'd start here: http://www.tncourts....court-judiciary or more accurately, here: http://www.tncourts.gov/boards-commissions/court-judiciary/file-complaint
  3. How 'bout a .45 ACP SBR?
  4. Sounds like quite a character. The cellulitis he's gonna get from those wounds may make him think twice about the doctor.
  5. I'd field strip a brand new one and clean out the assembly/preservative goop if necessary. After that.... I typically just wipe the obvious crud off of it and carry on. I don't field strip and clean but every 300-ish rds, or when the barrel begins to look cruddy. I've never done a detail strip just to clean one. Normally a little CLP and compressed air are adequate without taking everything apart. I believe guns get broken and/or worn out faster by obsessive cleaning than by shooting.
  6. And now you see why folks buy the tools and do it themselves. I think I've got about $120 in the tools. ... $170 if you count the rear stand. JC Whitney bead breaker... $70 Home-made balancer ... $30 Rim protectors ... $20 Rear stand... $50 I also use eye hooks in the ceiling to hang the front of the bike.
  7. A very talented and patient welder could fix them, but that'd likely cost more than new ones. You might find an odd-ball threaded insert that's fractionally bigger than what's there to replace it with. Dare I say.... there's always JB weld.
  8. I had a ball. Would like to do it again but not sure if I'll find the time this spring.
  9. The one-day course cost me $50. I think it varies by location.
  10. Never, ever get in the middle of a dog fight. I'm not talking about them growling and snapping at each other, but a full-on fur ball. I know you'd like to protect your precious baby too, but dogs go to fully primal kill everything mode, which includes you. The white of their eyes turn red and it's game on. If you can intervene before it gets to that, great. If not, best to just get away and wait for it to be over.
  11. Welcome!
  12. This. I have a dog and like dogs in general just fine. However, I'm reacting aggressively toward one that comes running toward my kids. First priority is to get the kids out of harms way. A sharp vocal command with an aggressive posture will stop most dogs in their tracks. I have two little ones. We walk around the neighborhood and in the park. I try to make a point to keep my right hand free.
  13. Just installed tech sights on my SKS. Love 'em. Sight picture is so much better. I had to crank the windage almost all the way over which means something is a little crooked, but otherwise they're great.
  14. You'll like those tires. I know lots of people around knoxville (me being one) who can mount them. Take the bands off and leaving them sitting in the sun before they're installed... the installer will thank you. Tools to do it yourself are pretty inexpensive. They'll pay for themselves in a couple changes.
  15. What they said. And you can shoot .44 specials for plinking. Need I say more...
  16. Welcome!
  17. See if there's a range near you affiliated with the CMP or one that holds NRA high powered rifle matches. The CMP has service rifle clinics that give you an introduction to both the Garand and NRA high power matches. As part of the clinic, you get to shoot 60 rounds through a Garand in match format for $20. I did one at ORSA last spring and loved it. http://www.orsahp.com/home/new-shooter
  18. I don't see any machine gun nests, artillery, or a SEAL team patrolling the perimeter...
  19. I took a first responder class from these folks a while back. It's somewhat specific to motorcycles, but the basic stuff doesn't change much. http://roadguardians.org/site/
  20. 75% of people wouldn't notice if you were on fire. Half of those that notice, wouldn't do anything about it. And yes, the NRA cap, paracord bracelet, fishing vest and/or fanny pack are a dead giveaway.
  21. Welcome!
  22. Any of your local outfitter or sporting goods type places will have all manner of filtration systems available. I have a few packs of purification tablets that I keep in my hiking pack. It's enough for several days worth at least. Beyond that, there's stuff like solar stills, sand filters, and boiling.
  23. I've thought about the same thing. Easier to get forgiveness than permission....
  24. This. And this. I've no issue with show-boating a bit and having a little fun. The boys have got to blow off some steam in a war zone however, way up in the mountains when it's cold and snowy was a poor choice of time and place.
  25. Yes. Tape around it, sand it out with some fine grit. Polish it to match the surrounding surface finish, and re-blue.
