  1. That's the trouble, it could be any of them. Since the law change didn't require signage changes (and signage isn't that reliable anyway), there's no easy way to tell. I suppose you could call up every municipality that has a park you might visit and ask, but if you asked 3 different officials, I feel sure you'd get 3 different answers. As OS has pointed out, enforcement seems to be nil unless you're an idiot whose name starts with "kw" and ends with "ick".
  2. Welcome!
  3. $130 for a half-hour lesson with an instructor isn't a bad deal. If you think he might be interested, go for it. We got my Dad a glider ride for Christmas a year or two ago. He had a pilot's license for a long time but lost it due to medical. I thought the glider ride might get him back into it, but it seems not. Regardless, he said it was a lot of fun. http://chilhowee.com/glider_rides.php I love flying... It's hard to know what to tell people without knowing them personally. My wife isn't real fond of it either. Is there any particular aspect of flying that frightens you?
  4. A friend has one (AR version) and let me play with it. My opinion... it's a fantastically fun way to waste someone else's ammo. I was never able to pull off a full mag dump, it got away too fast. About 10 rd bursts were all I could manage and keep it on target (sort of).
  5. Make a paste of meat tenderizer and water, smear it on and let it dry. Try it on a small area first in case it irritates your skin. Otherwise, lots of hydrocortizone cream.
  6. What I recall about property rights is... as long as you're on the water, you're technically not trespassing. If you step out of the canoe onto the bank or creek bottom (even if you're wading in the middle), you are trespassing. Though I can't seem to find where I read that...
  7. What mcurrier said. You can format the card or not. I never have, but I'm not a pro either. Auto-focus doesn't work in low light. If when you hold the shutter down half way the lens "searches" for a moment, there's not enough light for it to work. This site has lots of info and a free e-newsletter with some pretty good tips. http://digital-photography-school.com/ Practice, practice, practice...
  8. I've had problems with my left shoulder since high school. I believe it's either a rotator cuff problem or bankhard lesion. On the somewhat rare occasions that I hurt it, I think I might be interested in surgery to get it properly fixed. Then I read threads like this and decide a little aggravation isn't so bad after all. I'm sure it would help if I'd do the exercises I know I should. Best of luck with your surgery and recovery.
  9. Welcome!
  10. Welcome!
  11. Heh, I thought eating it was weaponizing it. Takes about an hour for full effect.
  12. What better place to be inconvenienced than NYC? After all, they voted for him.
  13. Bottle rocket wars FTW! We shot them at each other while chasing each other around the neighborhood on bicycles. I sure someone would call the cops on us these days. I agree, it's amazing we all made it through with no serious injuries.
  14. A leak in a water tank that's over 40 years old... oh, the humanity!
  15. Nice. The fishing kit is a good idea. Maybe I'll have room in my bag for one when my kids get out of diapers.
  16. I'm in the front cockpit...
  17. Ok. My wife doesn't get to complain that I eat weird things from time to time. Brie and limburger?... none for me, thanks. My father-in-law likes to get a tall glass of buttermilk, mash a biscuit or two into it, and drink it.
  18. As long at it's readable, I wouldn't sweat it.
  19. Not a smart place to be camping, but glad it worked out for them.
  20. Yep. Rocks and BB's here. I used to scare the squirrels off Mom's bird feeders when I was a kid. When I got a little older, I upgraded to a .22.
  21. Heh... the folks at AIM must be watching. I swear that wasn't on the 7.62x54R page 5 minutes ago. Now it's there.
  22. Link? I only see the usual spam cans and Privi stuff....
  23. I double up with earmuffs over foam plugs. I've never had any issues hearing range commands. I'd look for a minimum of 22dB reduction. More is better merrier, IMO.
  24. Snazzy looking race gun. You need to engrave some sort of logo in the slide opposite the ejection port.
  25. Looks good. Needs wood.
