  1. If it's "cheap Pakistan" you won't find out what type it is without a mass spectrometer. Here's some pretty good info on knife steels... http://zknives.com/knives/articles/knifesteelfaq.shtml
  2. Got a bottle of this while on vacation a couple weeks ago. Flavor exactly as described on the bottle and was good for sipping, but it didn't mix well for whatever reason.
  3. Off topic... but unless you guys are midgets, that's a BIG horse. I've seen Belgian's before but wow! He's a biggun!
  4. Grit blasting is probably the easiest way. You can get similar results with etchants (acids), but you need to know exactly what steel you've got.
  5. Tragic for sure. Anyone else notice this...? hmmmm.
  6. We can't do that. We might actually .... um.... win.
  7. Dad is a wood turner and has a friend that builds furniture. They're both in the general Chattanooga area. I can inquire if you're interested.
  8. A big group of my family spent a weekend at the cabins at Rock Island a couple years ago. Hot as blazes in July, but otherwise a nice place.
  9. Nice collection!
  10. It sure seems like it would have to be more than an unorganized mob to take that whole facility. But given the other thread about unarmed embassy guards, it's likely they would have been woefully out-gunned regardless. Our lack of response is very troubling.
  11. I agree completely. Guns are meant to be shot, cars are meant to be driven. However, as the others have said some of these are (virtually) one-of-a-kind and irreplaceable.
  12. With a permit, you're allowed to carry on state park, national forest, and national park property, regardless of signage. I don't think you can carry inside park buildings that are properly posted. City/county parks are where it gets really confusing.
  13. FTW! And God forbid parents actually pay attention to their kids. Living vicariously through people they barely know on facebook is vastly more important.
  14. I can't imagine shooting at someone stealing my car. It's just a car, they make lots of them, and I have insurance for that.
  15. That's a staggering collection. I can't imagine how long it would take to simply go through and catalog all those for auction. I hope some of them end up in museums where they belong.
  16. I'm sure it's a case of simple ignorance. It's just really funny ignorance.
  17. The one that feeds reliably and you're the most accurate with.
  18. Same here. I like jalapeno's and a little habanero goes a long way. I don't really like the flavor of curry. Ghost peppers and such are way too hot for me. My taste buds hit "tilt" and I may as well be eating straw (really, really spicy straw).
  19. That's really cool. I was eying a Henry .22 at wally world the other day. My boys aren't quite big enough for that yet, though a Red Ryder may be on the Christmas list for the older one.
  20. Great stuff! Get her to lean forward, into the gun rather than backwards as she's doing here.
  21. Ditto, except I use the Winchester version. Technically, it's my home defense gun and not my carry gun (which is a .45 because everyone knows it's better ) but I figure it's still applicable.
  22. How could I forget the Hunley? Very cool indeed.
  23. I think that should be plenty of rounds for it to be broken in. If switch lubes doesn't work, I'd dig deeper into the gas system.
  24. I can't imagine you'd be prosecuted for killing a nuisance animal... especially a coyote. "But officer, it growled and snarled at me in a very threatening manner. I saw it do that very clearly through my 10x scope before I fired..."
  25. Do they braze/solder flash hiders on AR's? Penetrating oil soak followed by heating with a torch. In the excitement of it breaking loose, don't try to spin it off with your hand...
