1. I use 200gr +P. Worry more about hitting the target and less about what the bullet does afterwards.
2. I haven't read this whole thread and I'm not gonna... but I had a neat idea. If Obama wins, I want to see a bunch of middle aged, over-weight, balding white guys looting the Quickie Stop on MLK Blvd. Kicking in the windows and stuffing the back seat of their bimmer with cases of frappuccino and Gardetto's. Some others gasping for breath on the verge of a heart attack about a block away because that's as far as they could carry the case of diet coke. That would f-ing ROCK! That is all. Carry on.
3.
Gotta love the depth of field from the f/1.8 lenses! I recommend buying from B&H Photo or Adorama in NY. Excellent prices and customer service.
Another vote for B&H. Check out their used gear... http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/buy/SLR-Digital-Cameras/ci/15488/N/4294182649 Here's the camera body .... http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/800902314-USE/Canon_2756b001_EOS_Rebel_XSi_Digital.html And here's the lens.... http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/740785-REF/Canon_2514A007AA_Normal_EF_50mm_f_1_8.html Under $400 combined. And +1 to everything Rusty said.
4. What Jonnin said. My defense rounds are 200gr +P while I use standard 230 gr for practice. The 230's hit about an inch lower at 25 yds. Not enough to matter IMO.
5. I also have a crossbreed supertuck and like it. I don't think the kydex wears a gun's finish more or less than a comparable leather holster. With either type, it's important to keep the holster clean. Embedded dirt and grit is what does the damage. Mine had the dreaded squeak, but after a few tries I fixed it with some felt behind the belt clips. That said, if I were buying a new holster today, I'd get one that's convertible IWB/OWB.
6. Here's a few options... http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?213309-Flashlight-amp-Knife-in-one-Holster-Combo Spare mag + flashlight holsters are pretty common. Seems a fairly simple adaptation to swap the mag for a knife.

8.
This is just for yall and yalls "big" spiders Sent from my SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
Is that real? Seriously. If so... wow.
9. Welcome!
10.
i have also seen her jerk him by the arm and pick him up and walk off in anger carrying him by the one arm, we also contacted dcs and they sent someone over but my sister just lied through her teeth and the dcs person just laughed and giggled with her over what she was saying, it was a complete joke
I dislocated my oldest's elbow when he was 3. He wasn't listening, I was annoyed, he pulled one way, I pulled the other, and pop! He howled. We took him to the local urgent clinic, got him x-rayed, and the dr. didn't really find anything wrong. I felt like such a heel (still do). I was surprised that we didn't get a visit from DCS after that. Even more so after visits to the same clinic when the dog bit him (twice). Stuff happens. It does sound like there's some significant issues with your sister, but it'll get way more messy than you can imagine if you get involved. If you feel strongly enough about it, proceed. Child abuse is a horrible thing.
11.
Either up load to youtube or photobucket. If you dont edit and just upload off a phone then photobucket is easier
Photobucket. Big brother blocks youtube at work.
12.
oh and she forced the baby to try something he didnt want to try and she told him if he didnt he wouldnt get anything to eat and guess what happend he didnt get anything to eat
A kid that throws a fit when presented with a new food? Gets mad and makes a horrendous mess? Gee.... that's never happened before. The "eat it or starve" option may be a little harsh for a 2 year old, but I've been there with my kids.
13.
Spanking it a touchy subject. I'm all for it, FOR THE RIGHT REASONS. The goal of the spanking is to teach discipline. Spanking every day = obviously your approach to discipline is wrong, and misguided. IMO - Spanking is the ultimate discipline and should be used as such. When it pains you as a parent to spank your child, that's discipline. If you start to feel anger/relief/enjoyment from spanking your child = borderline abuse. When a child is spanked in the heat of the moment, many times, it can turn abusive. I was taught to allow a good 45-60 minutes of timeout/stay in room/prepare for spanking, prior to the parent/guarding spanking. This not only allows the child to think about what they did and what is about to happen, it also allows the parent to calm down, talk with their child about what they did wrong, and issue discipline correctly with the correct mindset, instead of abusively and taking their rage/anger/resentment out on their child.
This. Intervening can get complicated real fast. Other than looking for bruises and such that MAY indicate abuse, I think it's best left to the professionals. Spanking should never be done in anger. The "cooling off" period mentioned above is important. I admit to not following it all the time myself. If you don't have kids, you simply don't understand how fast they can set you off. I don't mean that to sound condescending, that's just how it is.
14. I'm thinking long range (>200 yds) air rifle.
15. Ouch. Glad he's ok. I have a strong suspicion I'll be there myself in a few more years.
16. Interesting. I lived in Chattanooga for 25 years and had never heard of it. Google shows me lots of stuff about it being closed. What's the story?
17. Pocket watches are cool. I'm fascinated by their design and even more their manufacture, given the technology of the day.
18. Very true. My wife is an animal lover and I've told her repeatedly that if she wrecks the car trying to avoid a deer or smaller animal, I'm gonna be pissed. If you can't avoid colliding, its better to use your weight advantage and deliver the blow, rather than the deer hitting you. I also ride a motorcycle and have had a couple close encountered with deer. So far, the advice given by my MSF class instructor has held true.... if you can't stop in time, aim for it. Wild animals will typically move, you just can't predict where they'll go. So the best thing to do is aim for where they currently are. Chances are high they won't be there when you arrive. When they just appear to materialize out of thin air in the dark... there's not much you can do.
19. I worry about it more from the perspective of rust. I don't want my fingerprint to rust someone's gun. Crime? nah.
20. Where is this? Looks like a fun place to play.
21. Maybe you misunderstood... I was merely amused by the acronym, BJJ. Forgive my adolescent humor. That said the "discipline A is better than discipline B" debate is roughly equivalent to the glock vs. 1911 debate... pointless at best. I have a bit of interest in martial arts. I suspect my older boy might benefit from it in a year or two, and I know I could use the exercise/stress outlet.
22. You can likely build something a little more traditional for a similar amount of money... http://www.motherearthnews.com/do-it-yourself/how-to-build-an-a-frame-ze0z1111zhir.aspx http://www.motherearthnews.com/city-to-country-one-step-at-a-time/how-to-renovate-a-heritage-log-cabin-interior--diy-style.aspx
23. I have nothing to add other than pointing out that the above is hilarious...
24. I've seen the Changing of the Guard ceremony, though it was many years ago. Sobering even to a bratty teenager. The seriousness with which they go about their duty is palpable.
25. When you say "standard deviation" are you referring to velocity, group sizes, or both?
