  1. From Paducah, cut over to I-55.  It skirts the state line all the way up to St. Louis.  It'll cost you 30 minutes.   http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Murfreesboro,+TN&daddr=36.994842,-89.5346759+to:Boulder,+CO&hl=en&ll=36.712467,-89.01123&spn=5.520812,11.634521&sll=37.335224,-90.258179&sspn=2.738309,5.817261&geocode=FfX1IgIdAsrZ-ilBARdbDvhjiDH2d7XWKrkMhQ%3BFRp_NAIdLc-p-inZOQ9LmTd4iDELHfUwl43FMQ%3BFYqUYgId7rK5-SnTr40nTo1rhzFYgBugfDs5yA&oq=bould&mra=dpe&mrsp=1&sz=8&via=1&t=m&z=7
  2. Relax, it's only been a month.  Mine took 6 weeks and I'd guess there's much higher volume now.
  3. Mud + time will do that.  I'd guess to use the discoloration with the new finish.  Blend it into the undamaged areas with some different colored stains or paint.  I've seen some really cool looking milsurps that were refinished like this.  Gives them "character".
  4. Prices will go back down to where they were eventually, but it'll take a while.  The morons who paid 2x more than they should have won't sell for less unless they asbolutely have to.  And retailers have learned just how high of a price the market will bear.
  5. I think this about sums it up...   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_prsgZnPMQg
  6. Great fun!  Go when it's HOT because the water is COLD.  Sneakers, wicking type t-shirt and swim trunks.  Do what the guide says and you'll be fine.
  7. Think real hard about small-of-back carry.  It's not nearly as accessible, secure, or concealable as you think.  It also really, really hurts if you fall on it.... AMHIK.  If that's the only spot you've got room in your pants for the gun, I'd strongly recommend you consider larger pants or OWB.  That said, I have crossbreed and a galco that work pretty well.
  8.     I sure can't top that, but I think you got a helluva deal.
  9. I've got a Ruger P series and a Smith.  Again, the Smith is nicer but the Ruger works just fine and cost a whole lot less.  I'd put the Ruger ahead of the Bersa.    If your intention is to carry it, all 3 are quite heavy.
  10.     As the others have said, the smart thing to do would be a tactical reload to top the gun off and wait for the cavalary.  Only worry about disarming once they get there.
  11.     So that would make Walter the good twin and Joe the evil one?  I'd love to hear what Walter would have to say about that.
  12.     What he said.  If the Bersa functions, it's perfectly fine.  The Smith will be a much nicer piece overall.
  13. Cool stuff.  Though the videos that came up when the 1st one was finished were not so cool....   :squint:
  14. Welcome from the east!
  15.     Except that when the cop gets there and finds out you've got a gun on your hip, you're gonna do a face plant with a knee in your back and your gun is gonna get tossed anyway.  At the very least they'll make you disarm yourself and put it on the ground, likely at gun point.  Then they'll move in and cuff you.  Hopefully you'll get released in short order, but I seriously doubt the cops will let you remain armed.
  16. Nothing more than a tax.  If the citizens vote to approve it, fine.  But it can't just be imposed on them.   I don't think military service should be compulsory for the average citizen, we pay taxes to maintain a standing army for that.  I do think public service in some capacity (military, police, fire fighter, EMT, etc.) should be a prerequisite for anyone who want to run for public office.
  17. You guys dream small...
  18.   I'd go along with that.  It'd have to be near perfect, number matching, etc. to hit $350, IMO.   I paid $250 for mine a while back.  Numbers match except the bolt, the wood could use a little TLC but no cracks, with sling, no bayonet, and 250 rds of corrosive milsurp.
  19.   True, but just barely.  Velocities and energies are typically within 10%.  The .30-30 only gets better with the heaviest bullets.
  20.     I think they're making fun of us.....
  21. $100 fine for not reporting?  Meh.  The bigger questions are: Who controls the list at the school?  How is it stored? Who has access to it?  Who doesn't?    I agree with the rest of the proposed bill.
  22. Here's another one to read... http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/virginia.pdf
  23.     Dood...  You told her?   Grab some spackle and some paint and fix the interior hole before she gets home.   How often do you look at the ceiling in the closet anyway?  The next day.... aw dang it honey, it looks like the roof it leaking from all this rain.  I'll go look for the leak and fix it so we don't have to pay a roofer a bunch of money.
  24. Welcome!
  25. I also share your feelings.  Fast & Furious, Benghazi... I just shake my head.  How can they get away with that?  I'm not one for scapegoats, but SOMEONE has to be held responsible for such things AND be punished.  Jail, fines, public flogging, something...  It's very disheartening.  I tend to be pretty subdued but it sure seems like its time to start standing on the tables, pointing fingers, and screaming for justice.  "Do not go quietly into that good night..."   After all, that's how our forefathers convinced the Continental Congress to declare independence.  I refuse to believe the exchanges were "polite discussions between gentlemen".  There's plenty of evidence that fisticuffs broke out occasionally.  At least they had passion.   I can accept that I'm no longer a part of the vast majority, but I accepting that I'm a minority without a voice is hard pill to swallow.  Emails to the legislators seem to have no effect.  You get a canned response from an aide.  They don't give a f__k.  It's a sad state of affairs.
