  1. You guys dream small...
  2.   I'd go along with that.  It'd have to be near perfect, number matching, etc. to hit $350, IMO.   I paid $250 for mine a while back.  Numbers match except the bolt, the wood could use a little TLC but no cracks, with sling, no bayonet, and 250 rds of corrosive milsurp.
  3.   True, but just barely.  Velocities and energies are typically within 10%.  The .30-30 only gets better with the heaviest bullets.
  4.     I think they're making fun of us.....
  5. $100 fine for not reporting?  Meh.  The bigger questions are: Who controls the list at the school?  How is it stored? Who has access to it?  Who doesn't?    I agree with the rest of the proposed bill.
  6. Here's another one to read... http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/virginia.pdf
  7.     Dood...  You told her?   Grab some spackle and some paint and fix the interior hole before she gets home.   How often do you look at the ceiling in the closet anyway?  The next day.... aw dang it honey, it looks like the roof it leaking from all this rain.  I'll go look for the leak and fix it so we don't have to pay a roofer a bunch of money.
  8. Welcome!
  9. I also share your feelings.  Fast & Furious, Benghazi... I just shake my head.  How can they get away with that?  I'm not one for scapegoats, but SOMEONE has to be held responsible for such things AND be punished.  Jail, fines, public flogging, something...  It's very disheartening.  I tend to be pretty subdued but it sure seems like its time to start standing on the tables, pointing fingers, and screaming for justice.  "Do not go quietly into that good night..."   After all, that's how our forefathers convinced the Continental Congress to declare independence.  I refuse to believe the exchanges were "polite discussions between gentlemen".  There's plenty of evidence that fisticuffs broke out occasionally.  At least they had passion.   I can accept that I'm no longer a part of the vast majority, but I accepting that I'm a minority without a voice is hard pill to swallow.  Emails to the legislators seem to have no effect.  You get a canned response from an aide.  They don't give a f__k.  It's a sad state of affairs.
  10.     Guess they got more.  Wish I had more money.
  11. Don't underestimate the accuracy of the Mini-30.  Most of the poor results are due to using crappy commie block surplus ammo.  If you work up a load for it and find out what it likes, it'll be fine.
  12. Glad it worked out.  Did you get the vibe that the LEO's knew him?  That might explain their complacency.
  13. Can you determine what part of the gun it's hanging up on?  It might be as simple has holstering/drawing a bunch of times and wearing the holster in a bit.  My crossbreed came with instructions on using a hair dryer to warm the kydex and a damp wash cloth to keep other areas cool.  Basically you warm it until it just starts to become pliable, stretch it a tad, and cool it quickly with the damp wash cloth.
  14.     Exactly.  Only a politician could come up with a crime prevention bill that has no hope of preventing crime.
  15. Jim White.  He replaced my roof due to storm damage last year.  Did good work, I was pleased.  http://jimwhitebuilders.com/
  16. Welcome!
  17. For hunting when there's no leaves, Realtree.  When there are leaves, most any of them work.  That said, the best camo there is.... stillness.  Learn to be still.
  18.   Our neighbors when I was a kid had a couple.  Yep, interesting dogs.
  19.     I just got some from AIM, they didn't change their prices.  Looks like I got some of the last of it as they appear to be sold out of everything now.
  20. Basically, you do not want any holes pointed straight down.  It'll throw up dust when near the ground.  You do want as many holes as possible pointing up.  That helps reduce muzzle rise.    Swapping out a "permanently attached" muzzle device without the proper tools and skills is a recipe for disaster.  I you've never done one, get help.
  21. Think vertical.  Buy/build some shelves above your space to keep things out of the way when not in use.
  22. Anything that's available and not absurdly over-priced?   And tell us what that may be.     But seriously...  along the lines of old bolt guns... mausers, enfields, 1903's, ...
  23.   I think you highly over-estimate your fellow man.  I think more people will associate the shirt with the movie "300" than anything else.
  24. One thing I've read about these is people intercepting the signal and using it to spy on you (or your kids).  Verify the security of the signal.
