    Not quite.  A 1 inch M6 bolt will be listed as M6x25.  You may even find it listed as M6x1.  Walmart may not have them.  I'm sure Lowes or HD will.

  M6 is the size, 100 is the length (100mm) ~ 4" long.   If you really only need one 1" long, Lowes or HD will have one in their specialty fasteners cabinets.  If you really need one 4" long, you may have to go to an actual fastener place.

I have a couple strange things going on...   I noticed my membership had expired a while back and intended to renew it.  When I got to paypal, I couldn't remember the password and didn't complete the transaction (best of my memory).   Then I forgot about it until I noticed that my CC had been charged (Feb 5th).  It's been about 2 weeks since then and my benefactor status hasn't been updated.    How did the transaction get completed?  I presume the system needs a nudge to update my status.    I did purchase a few stickers a while back, but that was billed to my CC separately.  No idea if that's related.    :wave:

Tape it up, clean it with alcohol, and shoot it with some flat black rustoleum.  4 or 5 thin coats and it'll be fine.

The big question is what do you use the knife for?   You can get really hard, high carbon steels extremely sharp, but they get brittle and corrode easily.  As you make the steel tougher and more corrosion resistant, the ability to hold an edge typically drops off.  Some of the "super steels" do a reasonable job of bridging that gap, but at considerable expense.    A big +1 to professional sharpening.  I had some kitchen knives professionally sharpened and they held their edge for years and years.  When they finally needed resharpened, I did it myself.  While I can get them back to shaving sharp (I'm no expert), they need touched up every few months.

Sounds like you solved it.  For future needs, I know a guy in Oak Ridge who can easily weld such things (pressure vessel certified, etc.).

    If the administration disagrees with the policy, why do they enforce it?  Particularly in cases as silly as this?  They should take cases like this back up the chain to the school board to illustrate the stupidity of the policy.  If they're blindly following stupid rules, they're just as guilty as the uninvolved parents they like to bitch about.  Quit being mindless minions and think for yourself.

Even with over 12" of rain in January alone, they're still short of water?    God forbid urban planners consider the infrastructure before issuing building permits.  Utter incompetence on their part does not create an emergency on our part.  I agree, sell it to them. 

    Yep, but you'll have to remove the bayonet.   Make sure all the mags feed properly.  Some work, some don't.  Tape on the scope to prevent brass (steel, actually) damage is a good idea.  If the trigger has lots of creep or is gritty, send it to this guy....  you'll be amazed at the difference.  I sure was.    My yugo is stock with the exception of the above trigger job and Tech Sights, both of which I highly recommend. 

I'd love to have one.  It's definitely on my "must have" list.  Shot one (two actually, the first one broke!) at a CMP clinic at ORSA.  Loved it! 

    Yes, you must wait for the treated wood to dry before painting it.  The paint will look horrible and peel otherwise.  The MDF will soak up a lot of polyurethane.

    I'm not the only one!  I've carried one of these for several years.  $4 at walmart is hard to beat.

Take her to a range with rentals.  Let her shoot anything she wants.  Talk her into shooting a few she doesn't like.  Pick the one she shoots the best.

  I've not seen any sort of grass that holds up well with frequent traffic.  That's why I'm building some stairs and a path from the side door of my garage around to the back patio.
