    At the end of the day, that's the only real leverage a business has.  Tax revenue and jobs.  The job loss will hit the newspapers and get the people's attention, the loss of tax revenue gets the local government's attention.

  I question that as well.  It looks like it could be polished concrete or ice. I've looked it up several places and everywhere I've found says it's ice.  Note that a very cold, very flat sheet of ice isn't real slippery.  It only gets "like ice" when it's just a little wet.  They could also be wearing special (studded?) shoes.      And a little "small world" note....  through PM's, mav and I discovered that we sat next to one another for a year in HS band, 22 years ago. 

        gnmw's post above illustrates the point of my post.  People tend to think of a shotgun as a "scatter gun" where accuracy isn't especially important, but clearly that's not the case.  At typical home defense distances, nearly any shotgun shell effectively makes one hole.  While it may make a really big, nasty, horrible hole, a miss is still a miss.  You can't count on the "pattern effect" of the gun to compensate for inaccurate shooting.  Pointing it "thataway" and pulling the trigger doesn't work.        Great idea!  I'd sand the surface a little to roughen it so the rtv (or any sort of silicone sealant) will stick better.

If you intend it for HD, you need to know what it patterns like at 5 yds. Perhaps you've got a big house, but the longest shot I could conceivably take inside my house is less than 10 yds.

Don't get me wrong, one less criminal is always a good thing.  I can simply foresee our bleeding heart legal system making a mess of this.  I guess it all depends on where the entry and exit wounds are.

The K31 has a detachable magazine, just like most anything else... AR, AK, etc.  Reproduction mags are available. If the price was appropriate, I wouldn't let that bother me too much.     edit....     Other than the obvious smell, skunks are good critters to have around.  They (and possums) eat all kinds of other critters you'd rather not have.  Squirrels on the other hand, are just plain annoying....   "rats with good PR".  

Here's some info about the differences between a K11 and K31.   http://www.swissrifles.com/sr/index.html   I paid $325 for my nicely refinished K31 and a couple hundred rounds about 5 years ago.  It's far more accurate than I am.  And yes, the GP11 surplus is essentially "match grade" ammo.  Its definiately a keeper and a good conversation piece.  Lots of people have no idea what they are.

Tempting...  It is nice to know that my 91/30 has nearly doubled in value in 2 years.  :)

    My sister and b-i-l have a theater room similar to yours, projector with 90" screen.  The trouble you'll have with a painted wall is that it's neither flat nor smooth.  The smooth can be fixed with lots of sanding.  The waviness of sheet rock will distort the image a bit. 

Trapping them will work, but keep in mind that a possum in a trap is a very unhappy critter.  The urine should work too and yes, seal up any small openings with Great Stuff.  But be careful if you're spraying it into a closed cavity.  If you over-do it, the foam can expand with enough pressure to crack masonry.          My Dad has the same problem with racoons.  He traps and relocates them, but he's taking them 20 miles away.  I don't think 3 miles is nearly far enough and I certainly wouldn't be wasting gas hauling squirrels.  Go back to the BB gun, just clean up after yourself more promptly.  They make good fertilizer...

What most of them said.  It's dirty and maybe a little soft, but works fine.  Wear would only be a concern if you're shooting multi-thousands of rounds.
