Jim Carrey's politics aside, there's a reason why "Liar, Liar" is one of my all time favorite movies.

As for stuff showing in stock online ... call the store and ask if they really have it. As for motorcycle stuff... amen. Good to hear that the bike shops in the "far east" are still clueless. Tire prices are the reason I started changing my own about 10 years ago. DIY for $250 or pay the shop $450? Gee, lemme think about that.... Thankfully the shops around Knoxville are a little more connected to reality.

Protest Lamar Alexander, Sat July 20 – 3:30PM, Smyrna TN

While I appreciate the idea of the rally, time might be better spent finding and preparing a candidate who can actually defeat him. So far no one's even come close. -
The biggest risk is burning your hand if you grab hot metal. If left in the sun, surface temps can exceed 150 deg F.

Wrong time of year. Mid summer, mid day, all the critters are napping. Best time to see critters is cool, misty days.

Best eating establishments in Middle - East Tn area?

I've heard lot of folks rave about ye 'ol... wife and I went there for anniversary a couple years ago and had prime rib. Meh. It wasn't bad, but sure not worth the cost. I think the folks that rave about it have no idea how to grill a steak at home. -
Wow, that's pristine! Nice!

I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree with you there... While the atmosphere was nice, the food was poor at best. Everything was drowning in oil and massively over seasoned. Perhaps I'm spoiled by having had real Italian food in Italy. The American version is nothing like what I had there. Everything was very light and delicately seasoned. YMMV. -

We've been hiking a few times recently and have had zero ticks. As long as you stay on the trails, you should be fine. Your dogs definitely won't get any ticks as they're not allowed on the hiking trails.

Don't know that it's a regulation, but a delay sure seems like a good idea (just like radio). Just gives folks a couple seconds to react if something goes wrong. It doesn't matter who started it. Everyone who touched it between the source and airing it on live TV was in on it. I'm regularly amazed by the stupidity of people, but I just don't believe this really got past all those people.
-
Neat idea, but for that price I'll use my 91/30. It's likely more reliable and will make a better club when I run out of ammo.

True. That's all protected by the 1st Amendment. As said above, I started laughing when I saw the names on the screen, even before she starts talking. Someone created the graphic. Someone else typed it in the teleprompter. There should have been several people in the booth reviewing both of those prior to broadcasting. The broadcast is supposed to be delayed a few seconds so they can shut it down if something goes wrong. I refuse to believe there's that many people in one place that are so naive as to not "get" that. So either they did it on purpose or they're utterly incompetent. Again, I found it hilarious, but they deserve whatever they get for being that stupid.

In Maryville... +1 to TC's Grill. Best burger in town. Pancho's Mexican. Foothills Milling Co., pricey but excellent. Full Service BBQ (no inside dining). +1 to Sweet P's BBQ. Smoky Mtn Brewery... good food, good beer. Others nearby.... +1 to Irish Times in Knoxville. Big Ed's Pizza in Oak Ridge. Calhoun's at the Marina in Lenoir City. Restaurant Linderhof in Knoxville. The Tomato Head (not carry friendly, but the food is excellent). -
That intern is probably a writer for SNL now... While I found it hilarious, I hope the airline shuts the station down.

The fact that so many people at that TV station were stupid enough to broadcast that tells me the FCC needs to review the status of their license. While I found it hilarious, I hope the airline shuts them down. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/67740-because-we-have-to-get-the-news-out-first/

Profiling works, period. Stereotypes exist because they're true more often than not. It's a perfectly logical and reasonable way to filter a large group of people. I know we're told "not to judge a book by it's cover", but I don't consider that applicable when dealing with the masses.

Suspect kidnaps & holds knife to 2-year-old girl at Walmart

Had that been my kid, would've been suicide by daddy. Hope the little girl isn't too traumatized. -
Yep, it's hard to find a smaller frame that's not pink. The one I ended up with is teal, and I've seriously considered stripping it down and rattle canning it. But its such a POS, its really not worth the effort. I'd like to upgrade, but that's hard to justify given how little I actually ride it.

Speaking of freezing, nearly a disaster at the house today. Seems my oldest son did something in the garage yesterday that tripped the GFI. My wife got something out of the freezer at lunch and noticed that stuff on top didn't seem real cold. Once she figured out it was the GFI, she reset it and the freezer appears to be working fine. I have been fairly thoughtful with regard to what's on top and what's on the bottom in the freezer, so nothing thawed that can't be re-frozen. Sometimes its several days between us getting into it, so that could've been very ugly. http://www.motherearthnews.com/real-food/canning.aspx#axzz2Z8TYtJgm

I must say I'm exceedingly disappointed in the people of Seminole County. I was gone most of the day sunday and was anxiously awaiting getting home and turning on the 6:00 news to see the piles of ash and rubble that once was the greater Orlando area. How dare they deprive me of such excellent entertainment.! All LAPD did was beat up a guy and the free sh!t army nearly trashed the whole town. I wanted to see Cinderella jump from the tallest tower as her castle burned, I wanted to see an angry mob chasing Mickey Mouse down Main St, I wanted to see some guys trying to harpoon Shamu.... That would've been AWESOME! I'm very disappointed. :)

Made in USA was the primary reason I bought a set of Discoverers. They've been good tires. Hope they don't move production.

We freeze stuff, but that's mostly because we haven't had a large enough quantity to justify canning. As for the liquid problem with the food saver... I pre-freeze stuff with lots of liquid, then vacuum seal it. Not perfect, but seems to work reasonably well.
