  1. An interesting idea....    http://news.yahoo.com/developer-kan-caverns-could-preserve-human-race-071249444.html;_ylt=Ar5ksKupsY_UjOSfKI7.DKUJVux_;_ylu=X3oDMTI5ZWtqbHJ2BG1pdANBVFQgMyBTdG9yeSBKdW1ib3Ryb24gSG9tZSBDYWNoZWQEcG9zAzcEc2VjA01lZGlhQXR0V2lkZ2V0cm9uQXNzZW1ibHk-;_ylg=X3oDMTFkcW51ZGliBGludGwDdXMEbGFuZwNlbi11cwRwc3RhaWQDBHBzdGNhdANob21lBHB0A3BtaA--;_ylv=3   I like the "Survival Shelter and Resort" name.  Makes it sound like Club Med.
  2. Personally, I don't think it was a terrorist attack.  It was too big of an event for a large organization not to take credit for.  If it was some looney acting alone, they would've blabbed about it by now.  I think it was accidentally shot down by our government.  :tinfoil:
  3. Pics or it didn't happen....       :)

  5.     Which is the whole reason why the military wants kids.  They don't know any better so they'll do what their told, even if it means dying.  An army of individuals doesn't work.    I think that's one of the biggest reason why the "greatest generation" fought so well.  They simply didn't know any better.  They were young, idealistic, had a cause to fight for, and for the most part, were completely uniformed as to what they were getting themselves into.  The modern army is infinitely better informed and I think that works against them.
  6. *Why was it so hard for me to find this thread? Sheesh...* So I've been thinking about getting an OWB holster for quite a while. Unfortunately my waist line has expanded a little and my trusty crossbreed isn't an option with some of my pants/shorts anymore. I've seen several examples of George's work and was impressed so I figured I'd see what he could do for me. We had a bit of discussion about color, ride height, cant, retention, etc. and with what seemed to me like somewhat limited info, he nailed it. Here's the finished product: It sits right where I wanted it to and the cant is spot-on. Essentially, it mimics my crossbreed but in OWB form. Retention is snug without being difficult to draw. It's exactly what I wanted and the price was quite friendly for what's essentially a custom holster. I need to wear it a bit more to get it broken it, but so far it's very comfortable. I also took a few pics to see how it conceals compared to my crossbreed. Being perfectly honest, the crossbreed conceals a little better but the comfort advantage of the OWB with pants that are a little snug far outweighs the possibility of a little printing. As I've said a bunch of times before.... most people wouldn't notice if you were on fire... George's holster... Crossbreed...
  7.     Reliability in a semi with snake shot can be hit or miss ( ;)  ).   And it's the classic idea that if you're literally wrestling with the critter, the revolver will "always" work.
  8. Some of you guys might like to check in here, if you don't already.  There's routine reports of road conditions and who's where...  http://www.easttnriders.com/forum/index.php
  9.   Mosin's have a safety?      ;)
  10.        Like I said in the other thread.... welcome to home ownership.  Last time I moved it was in mid-July.  I even paid someone to move the big stuff and was still completely exhausted.
  11.   That's what I do.  Typically carry the little one and have the big one for things that go bump in the night.
  12. Welcome!
  13. Nice!
  14. $650?  Dayum.  Yes, you did quite well.
  15. Around here, worry more about the 2 legged predators than 4 legged ones.  Out west with grizzlies and mountain lions, heavy .357 or bigger.    I hike with my kids and they make so much noise we rarely see any wildlife bigger than squirrels.
  16.     and here...  http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/63507-1000-yd-bullseye-on-his-1st-shot-ever/   :)
  17.   Welcome to the joys of home ownership!      My wife and I are avid landscapers.  I'd much rather do yard work than remodel interiors.   Seriously, congrats.  You'll love it.
  18. Eye protection works.  That would've made for a bad day otherwise.
  19. While I don't recommend allowing one to destroy your house, bear in mind that its illegal to kill most song birds.
  20. Three bikes hanging from J hooks in the garage at the moment. I'm 5'6" and don't have much trouble with them. The wife's bike has a steel frame and is a bit heavy, but I manage. They hang upside down with a hook in each wheel. Yes, finding rafters can be a pain, but there's a tool for that.
  21. Well yeah, Free Bird is their other song....
  22. Good stuff. .308?
