  1. My uncle, a GM retiree said GM pays 4 people for every 1 that actually works. 1 worker, 1 on disability, and 2 retirees. That concept sound vaguely familiar?
  2.     Oh... I read Palm Springs.  Oops.   Bet he'll drive next time.
  3.     I know what you meant, but that's pretty funny.  :)
  4. We have one of these at work...  http://www.cpomilwaukee.com/milwaukee-6370-21-8-in-metal-cutting-saw-with-case/miln6370-21,default,pd.html?ref=pla&zmam=31282435&zmas=47&zmac=43&zmap=6370-21&gclid=CJGLtPGnk7gCFSJlMgodeVkAdg   It's absolutely amazing.  Cuts through 1/2" mild steel plate as fast as my Makita cuts through 1/2" plywood.  The metal doesn't get particularly hot either.
  5. Sounds really nice, you shouldn't have too much trouble selling it.
  6.     The classic Asian business tactic.  I learned it well during my automotive years dealing with Korean, Chinese, and also Indian suppliers.  They effectively "buy" the business.  They quote you a low price such that they're losing money.  Then their government subsidies kick and and they slowly ratchet the price up until it's profitable for them.

Happy 4th! Thanks to all who serve! :usa:
  8. As much as those guys travel, I can understand wanting to carry.  But taking it to CA?  Moron.
  9. I think he should be charged, but prison isn't going to accomplish anything.  Sentence him to community service.  Make him become a speaker and tell this story and (hopefully) educate and inform others to they might learn from his mistakes.  An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of detection.        This exact thing happened when I was a kid.  A neighbor boy was playing in his Dad's car.  He knocked it out of gear and the car rolled down the driveway, across the street, and into our driveway where it hit my Dad's truck.  The damage to the vehicles was minor, but had a child been in the middle he/she surely would've been killed.
  10. They're learning because we're teaching them and investing in them.  We're moving manufacturing overseas and teaching them how to manufacture products.  The overseas companies are then taking the profits and reinvesting in better equipment and technology.  They're fast learners.  The total lack of environmental oversight and intellectual property rights makes the whole process go faster.
  11. Very nice blade and sheath.    You might consider adding a stiffener bead or two down the length to help make it a little more rigid.... viagra for blades.
  12. Good luck with it.  While its generally a relief when it's done, selling a house is a PITA.
  13. No disco balls at the library.
  14. Cool find.
  15. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/67154-new-parking-lot-law-takes-effect-monday-july-1/   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/66101-tn-ag-%E2%80%9Cguns-in-parking-lots%E2%80%9D-law-does-not-forbid-employers-from-firing-employees/   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/62917-how-does-the-new-bill-affect-school-parking-lots/   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/62658-governor-signs-guns-in-parking-lots-bill/     ... that's a start.
  16. Pics or it didn't happen.  :)
  17. My worst nightmare is to be a financial and emotional burden on my family while I slowly waste away.  I've been witness to that very thing more than once, and it's horrible for everyone involved.  I've read a bit of scripture about suicide and my interpretation is that death with dignity isn't suicide.
  18. What they said, you did the right thing. Had you been in Knoxville, I bet I'd know the guy driving the truck. I have a friend that would probably do the same thing. He's a good guy as long as he's not behind the wheel. He can be a real arse when driving.
  19.     Hail yeah!  Love me some 'pipes.  Always wanted to learn to play them.  If nothing else, it'd sure annoy the neighbors.
  20.   I somewhat liken it to the general view of lawyers (present company excepted)... 99% give the rest a bad name.  That's not true, but it sure seems like they get in more than their fair share of trouble.  And when they do, it's rarely minor.   Heck, my sister used to babysit Rob Bironas's kids and she's met several other players and found them to be perfectly nice guys.        Right.  With as much money as they've got, they could afford to bring the nightclub to their house and avoid the complications.
  21. While I've never dissected a human, I've seen what my kitchen knives do to various cattle type critters, and then I'm not trying very hard.  A puncture/stabbing wound with a decent knife could easily penetrate bones or go between ribs or vertebra.  2" in depth is more than enough to ruin your day.  In reality, that may not happen very often but clearly its possible.
  22. I grew up shooting right handed rifles left handed.  Never really caused any issues.  I think getting a lefty rifle only really matters with a semi-auto so that you don't get hot brass to the face.
  23.     True, but she needs to work on her song writing.  Call me a metal snob, but the 3 minute radio hits they produce just don't highlight much musicianship to me.  They write some cool riffs, but they're kinda ... dare I say.... Nickelback-ish.    But then, they're making millions and I'm stuck working 8-5 so...
  24. Big pile of cash in the bank and lots of free time.... what else is a thug to do?  It's not called the National Felons League for nothing.         He could also be useful by being a temporary resister in an electric circuit.
