        While ZT knives are cool, me thinks some of you guys are missing something....

If it's stored indoors in a controlled environment, probably. If left open in a garage or musty basement, maybe for a while but not for 50 years. And yes, I'm sure a lot of us overdo our storage techniques for various reasons.... Security from kids or anyone else is likely the primary reason, followed closely by a mild case of OCD.

  A former coworker started carrying a handgun while bow hunting after an unpleasant run-in with a pack of coyotes.  He's got a permit and said the game wardens have never questioned it.     As for camping...   Say it's a 10 mile hike to get to your hunting/fishing spot.   You backpack in and camp for a few days while hunting/fishing.  That sounds like a time when carrying a long gun is incident to camping. 

Mostly in boxes, some loose in various milsurp and plastic ammo cans spread out around the closet.  As well all know, ammo is heavy.  Be wary of concentrating too much weight in one spot.  Typical residential (non slab) construction flooring is designed for a 40 lb/sqft static load. 

The red light on most head lamps is intended for looking for something in your tent at 3am, its really not meant for walking through the woods.  You'd be better off finding a red lens/filter for a real flashlight.    That said, Petzl, Princeton, etc... all good lights. 

We've gotten Omaha steaks before. While they were good, I didn't think they were anything special and not worth the premium. While it's been offered several times, I'd never buy meat from a random guy with a freezer in the bed of his pickup. Best beef I ever had was local. I'm on a waiting list to get a beef from a coworker who raises cattle.

I'm sure the laws are written to protect the utility and they ROW, but I'd still do my homework and read all I could find on the topic.  While they do have ROW, simply doing maintenance work shouldn't devalue your property.  Before/after photos might go a long way toward illustrating your point.

    Interesting as well.  I assume they were thoughtful and designed it such that the only parts that change are the barrel and magazine.  But I would think the difference in energy and recoil pulse would also require a different spring.  But I'm not a handgun designer so maybe not...

        Yep.  Rustoleum is good stuff, but only when it's properly cured.  That means not handling it for at least a week and/or baking it to ensure it cures.  The "dry in 10 minutes" stuff is misleading.  While it may appear dry, it's not cured.

If you're picking up a receiver, technically you are picking up a firearm.  The fact that it's non-functional may or may not be relevant. As for the potential for you to buy a firearm at walmart (et al), I assume that means they could refuse to take you back home with it.  I'd review their policies on the topic before making a stink.

Interesting.  My wife's is wrapped up under the tree at the moment. I don't recall seeing anything like that, but I wasn't exactly looking for it either.  I'd already planned to strip it down with her and inspect it.  It's obvious they're making these things as fast as they possibly can.  Some stuff is gonna slip through.   I've though a little about mav's problems... I wonder if it simply got a .40 recoil spring instead of a 9mm spring. 

    On a sort-of related note, I had a genius idea yesterday...   Remember the story of the radioactive waste that was stolen in Mexico?  Here's what we should do...   Irradiate a couple crates of milsurp AK's.  Package them in discretely lead lined wood crates.  Leave them laying around where it might be stolen and delivered to our enemies.  When they open the crate and distribute them amongst themselves.... the problem will solve itself.

    Not necessarily, there's plenty instances of people successfully defending themselves when the perp got the drop on them.  Don't ever give up.

    Sometimes it takes a bit more force to seat the mag, but something's wrong if it physically won't lock in with a round in the chamber.  One of my guns takes a modest whack to seat a full mag with a round chambered, but it runs just fine. 

  Why not keep the higher capacity magazine in the gun instead of using it as a spare?
