  1. Here's a thread on the Rustoleum stuff from a while back...    http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/71416-rustoleum-deck-coating/
  2. My 3 yr old slept right through it all, but my 6 yr old joined us in bed.  Makes for a long night and even longer next day.   :-\    We had a few good cracks of thunder and the usual wind/rain but nothing extraordinary.  Though on my drive to work this morning I noticed a fair bit of localized flooding (creek WAY over its banks).  It must have rained a lot.
  3. So they can see the teeth when rigormortis sets in without having to pry the jaws open.
  4. I've always done something similar when hiking. I keep a couple walmart bags in my pack specifically for picking up trash. Now that the boys like fishing, guess I should add a couple I the tackle box too. People who think the world is their personal garbage can disgust me.
  5. So what exactly are you trying to say? :)
  6. That reminds me that you might try food that's heavy in fish oil or some sort of fish oil pills or something along those lines.  Fish oil is supposed to be good for a dog's coat.
  7.     Bassmasters is catch and release.
  8. A friend had Golden Retrievers with allergies.  They gave them Claratin and it worked great.  You might also try some of the various oatmeal baths to try and sooth the skin.  The brushing may be making it worse.
  9. Nice work!  Can you give some perspective on size?
  10.     The drill battery is disconnected.  He's spinning the drill motor by hand and using the DC current that's generated to charge the phone.  It's just like the old starter/generators that cars used to have.  Apply current and it starts the engine.  Once the engine is running, it generates current to recharge the battery.   That said... a solar charger would be much easier, assuming you have access to sunlight.
  11. I prefer DST.  If we were to stop doing DST, the "standard work day" needs to change from 8-5 to 6:30-3:30.   That's another reason why I hate winter...  I go to work in the dark and I come home in the dark.
  12.     I too have been "sharpening challenged" for a long time.  I finally bought a Smith's system and with some practice, now feel fairly confident in my ability to get a knife shaving sharp.  That's a pretty good feeling.  :)   As for stropping, it depends on how far you want to go.  I found that it makes a difference, but I don't have the ultra fine stones in my kit.  Stropping does give it that shiny, mirror-like appearance that you see in pictures, which is pretty cool.
  13. Welcome!
  14. Any sort of DC motor will work this way, not just a drill.   That said, it'd be pretty darn tedious to spin that thing for an hour or more to charge a phone.
  15. You tend to get a lot less on you using a squatter.  That's one reason why you find them in such places.

    AR-7.62 39

Early ones didn't feed worth a crap, but the parts makers seem to have that fixed now.  Personally, I'd go 7.62x39 because the ammo is cheaper and not everyone has one.
  17.     I'd bet GM had practically nothing to do with it.  All they did was have the car(s) delivered to the conversion shop.  The conversion shop wired in the strobe kit, installed the roll cage, and the fire suppression system.
  18. Any sort of point-&-shoot camera with a macro mode will take pretty darn good pics.  Even most smart phones will take good pics these days.  It just takes lots of light and a little set-up work.  Heck, I'd like take the pics just to be able to fondle the toys.
  19. Who's ready for spring?
  20. Glad it was ok. I had an old Pontiac with the 3.8. The oil pan gasket blew out, leaked out all the oil while I was driving, and shortly thereafter spun a rod bearing and trashed the crank. I saw it when they pulled it apart and the other 5 cylinders looked new. The cross hatching was still clearly visible.
  21. Yes, a strong hot alkaline cleaner is what I had in mind, but that'll kill aluminum in short order. I'd try soaking it in boiling hot water for a few minutes prior to blasting it. Walnut shells or plastic media should work but as with any blasting, be mindful of your pressure, standoff, and dwell.
  22. What they said. It's a very small town, generally a quiet rural place. Madisonville and then Maryville are the places you'd go to get stuff. Beautiful area with lots off hills and lake front.
  23. Is the build-up on the baffles just the usual powder residue with a bit of lead fouling?   What is the can made of?  Is it machined from one piece or is it an assembly.  If it's an assembly, are the pieces welded or brazed together?   I'm thinking of a chemical way to remove the deposits or at least soften/loosen them so they'll come off easily, without damaging the can itself.
  24.     I've put a bunch of corner shelves in the house, they are indeed really handy.  A great way to keep the wife's nick-knacks from cluttering up every other available horizontal surface ....  :ugh:   I used a sheet of MDF board, and cut anywhere from 12" - 18" radius pie pieces out and routed the exposed edge.  I nailed 1/4 round trim to the wall and sat the shelf on it.  Works great... except when the corners in your house aren't 90 deg...
  25. Yep, after the last session with my Mosin and Mauser, I got a recoil pad. I love shooting them, but they'll bite if you're not careful.
