If I did get a truck, it'd also have to be a crew cab for the car seats. The 6 yr old really wants me to get a black diesel dually. See what you did! It's all your fault! ;) No hate on my part. Just one of the many things that I don't understand.

Heh... found a unit error above while working through this. That's what I get doing math while sitting on the toilet... :) I used the arc length formula.... s = r * a where s = arc length (straight line approximation is close enough in this case); r = radius; a = included angle in radians. 1000 yds / 2 yds = 0.002 rad (0.115 deg). Same formula.... 0.002 rad * 16" sight radius = 0.032" So a 6 ft target would appear 0.032" tall, if you could even see it at all through the mirage.

Been camping? Drunk any purified water? Giardia and Crytosporidium could cause similar symptoms.

It is funny how things like one's taste in music can change over time.

Speaking of DEVO..... :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMhwddNQSWQ&feature=kp -
I'll admit to a bit of jealousy. I make a decent living but I sure don't have $40k to spend on a truck. I also don't have an additional $10k-20k to spend on farkles for said truck. Seems like lots of these trucks are absolutely spotless. Inside, outside, underneath, the bed.... everywhere. So you've built yourself a truck that looks like it could climb Everest, but it's not got a spec of dirt or a scratch on it anywhere? To me, the whole point of such a beast would be to haul things and go play with in the dirt. So not only do these guys apparently have lots more money than me, they also have lots more time to sit around polishing their truck. Sure would be nice to have that much spare time and money. Wish I could do that.

I get that a 6 ft person would appear 0.032" high at 1000 yds assuming a 16" sight radius. Fixed error... oops.

Service in/around the Maryville area is fine, same as most other carriers. Verizon tends to extend a little further into the hollers, but that's about it.

The law says something to the effect of "reasonable fear for your life". In simple terms, my interpretation of that is: disparity of force and/or lack of escape options constitutes justification for deadly force. As JAB said, the goal is to stop the threat by whatever means are available. That could be escape, could be talking, could be deadly force.

I know why you like Rimsky-Korsakov. I actually found Scheherezade performed by the Royal Philharmonic on CD several years ago. Not quite as good as when we did it, but close. ;) My musical tastes are also quite varied. Metal, jazz, folk, classic rock, bluegrass, big band, blues, classical, prog, (even some rap). Given today's business climate, a little spirit lifting is definitely necessary from time to time. -
Woodcraft maybe? They have small pieces of nearly everything and might be able to get bigger ones. Pricey though. Look up a local boat restoration shop. I'd expect a shop that does work on old wood boats would know where to get teak.

Every time my wife sees a newer model truck that's been lifted with all sorts of accessories, she says.... "compensating for something, are we?"

Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Advil (ibuprofen) at the stated doses are fine, assuming she's never had problems with them before. (I'm not a doctor either). Caffeine withdrawal is known to cause headaches, and given her caffeine intake (coke + tea +excedrin), that's not a surprise. Many years ago I got to where I couldn't really function without caffeine. I decided that wasn't a happy place to be so I stopped drinking it. The ensuing couple weeks weren't a great deal of fun, but I felt better after. Now, the only caffeine I get is by drinking a coke maybe once/week plus whatever fractional amount is in decaf tea.

Notice that you never see the rifle actually shooting. Who's to say he's even shooting a Mosin or it's even him doing the shooting. Could be another guy with another rifle off camera doing the shooting. The report seems pretty wimpy as well, but that could be the microphone in the camera. The trail is visible for several of the shots.

I'm a wanna be carpenter. I enjoy it, but I'm not very good at it. Dad is a good carpenter. He's gotten into turning and makes some pretty cool stuff on his lathes. As for wood.... I'd also suggest you look up local saw mills and see what they've got. Without paying a fortune for it, I suspect you'll have to get rough sawed lumber and go from there yourself. A local custom cabinet maker might be able to point you toward a source or two.

Interesting. Not sure I'd survive without my morning cereal. Eggs & bacon sounds good but I doubt the wife and kids would appreciate me banging around in the kitchen to fix that at o'dark thirty. I've got 2 young kids so there is no real rationing of milk. They drink tea and water but we still go through about 2 gal/wk. I'm anxiously awaiting garden season and really hoping for a better year than last year. The garden reduces my grocery bill significantly. My wife loves baking bread, but she typically makes various types of "artisan" breads. Don't know that she's ever made regular sandwich bread.

I'm interested in lucky #13, but that's highly dependent on the price.

Depends on whether I've got a kid on my back. If not, it's the usual .45 on my belt. If so, the .380 in my pocket. I usually carry bear spray too.

Alcohol Limit For Beer To Be Raised In Tennessee?

Bring it! Was a typically stupid omission from the wine on grocery stores law that just passed. -
Care to share how you pull that off?

To the OP... before we had kids, $250-$300/mo. After kids.... I quit keeping track because I don't want to know. Keep the bread in the fridge. You'll get at least another week out of it. If you find it on sale, buy a couple loaves and freeze them. :stunned:  :panic:  Wow. My wife appears to collect coupons. We have a large stack that she cuts out of various ads. Periodically, I go through that stack and throw away the expired ones. She may actually use more coupons than I think, but it's nothing like what your wife does. That's seriously impressive.

Send the trigger group to Kivarri, you'll be astounded at the difference.

Got a Shield 9 for the wife. Darn sweet shooting little 9mm. POI is a little to the left for me, but its fine for her and easily fixed regardless. Next time PSA runs a sale, get one.

Crossville and Athens are both pretty small towns. I'd say Athens is a little bigger, but not by much. Since Crossville is up on the plateau, it's a bit cooler year round. That means more snow/ice in the winter but not quite so hot in the summer. I know zip about their gun clubs and will echo wk05's comment about ORSA.
