  1.     I need to get back into cycling.  I always found running exceptionally boring.. the scenery just doesn't change fast enough.  That, and having been forced to run miles and miles as a high school wrestler ruined it for me.  And yes, yoga is great for core strength and flexibility.  Need to do more of that too.  Hard to find the time with the kids.
  2. Sort of. A regular black rat snake won't eat other snake, but a King snake that looks very similar will kill and eat venomous snakes. Both are good to have around. Black rat snakes are all black with some white around their chin and belly. King snakes are black with white stripes.
  3. I'd do the 10".  Potentially an extra inch of sight radius, every little bit helps.   And I'd also change the muzzle device to one of those great big ones that's about the same diameter as the rail, but that's just 'cause I think it looks cool.  :)
  4.     Easy there big guy.  While I do consider most cats to be the spawn of Satan and yappy little dogs highly annoying, there was at least a hint of sarcasm there.  I do know of at least a couple small dogs that aren't annoying and cats that aren't completely psycho.  ;)
  5. Wow.  I'll be curious to see what it really looks like when you get it cleaned up.
  6. An exceptionally useless mongrel hound dog mix. We think she's mostly blue heeler and dalmatian, which I wouldn't wish on anyone.
  7.     So maybe there is some benefit to having 'yotes around...
  8. It is pretty fast and easy when you're alone on a range, standing square to the target, and drawing whenever you feel ready. He does do that faster than I expected.
  9. You cannot carry a loaded handgun outside the home in TN without a HCP, period.   If you have your HCP and carry where legal, while fishing... it's up to you to convince the game warden you're not using it for fishing.  Maybe no big deal, maybe not.
  10. Yet again.... cool.
  11. You're the one that said it was "killer" jerky.... :)
  12. Congrats!  Good shooting!
  13. http://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-steel-sheets/=s15umw   Buy with credit card, delivered to your door in a day or two.
  14.     Could be mineral deposits from hard water.         That's because alcohol is hygroscopic.... it absorbs water out of the air.  Hence the reason ethanol in gasoline is so bad for older small engines... but that's another thread.
  15.     In my experience with PSA... that's completely normal.  Sometimes its a couple days, sometimes it's a couple weeks.  You will get it eventually.
  16. I'm not a Jeep guy necessarily.... but I'd pass.  If you want a Jeep as a 2nd vehicle, get the 6 cyl Cherokee.  Grand Cherokee's aren't exactly the most reliable vehicles.   As stated, the rebuilt suspension suggests the current owner is either anal about that kind of thing or wore it out.    The check engine light.... get used to that, it'll continue coming on.  It's a never-ending problem with older cars.   The gas... unless you've got a very short commute, you'll burn through that $230 faster than you think.  I have several coworkers who've parked their trucks in favor of compact cars.  Even with the $350/mo car payment, they're still saving money compared to gas and tires on their trucks.
  17.     That's a good indication of the priority given to knowledge of gun and knife laws.  A significant percentage don't know those laws because it's not something they deal with regularly (which is a good thing).  It'd be nice if they all understood all the laws, but I doubt even the AG could make that claim.
  18.     The women's razors work better because the blades are a little thicker and a little sharper.   And same as you, the 10 pack would last me at least 6 months when I shaved every other day.
  19. I also practice drawing and sight acquisition more than anything else but I'm sure I don't do that often enough.    Surefire has a free shot timer app that I use.  It won't (or I can't get it to) recognize dry firing, but the random delay on the beeper works well enough.
  20. Welcome!
  21.   And I'm sure litigation will be introduced as well.
  22. I've tried a a couple electric razors and they're all "tug and yank" instead of "lift and cut" for me.  I guess they work for guys with very fine beards, mine's much too coarse.  Between that and their high price....    I've always used cheap disposable razors and Edge Gel with adequate results.  Last fall I grew a beard so now I only have to shave my neck and a few random hairs on my cheeks a couple times per week.   I trim my mustache about once/week and my wife trims the beard when she cuts my hair about once/month.  I should've grown a beard years ago.
  23.       Somehow I doubt carrying a knife has any impact on either one of us looking like a lunatic...   :D      I think that 5" knife would cause me to limp after a couple hours.  Imagine sitting on a park bench cleaning your fingernails (or teeth!) with that thing.
  24. I do carry two knives. A cheap NRA folder in my pocket and the blade in my leatherman on my belt. The folder gets way more use. From what I've seen, a big folder is so thick as to be unpractical for carry... excepting that monster OS has, which is just hilarious. I'd love to carry that thing around just for the reactions (see the video above) :).
  25. I went to Hawaii prolly 25 years ago as part of a school trip. For me, Pearl Harbor is about the only draw now. My wife wants to go but it's horrendously expensive now. To me, the beach is the beach. It doesn't matter where.
