  1.     I'd guess they're just waiting on the funding process to appropriate money to update the signs.  Municipal financial processes being what they are, that might take a while.
  2. Looks like a type of Kingfisher.  Any idea where that was filmed?
  3. Here's my conspiracy theory.  Russian special forces used Ukrainian equipment to shoot it down.  You can't shoot down an airliner with a shoulder fired missile, they fly much too high.   With that said, it was exceedingly stupid for a commercial flight to overfly that area.  I suspect those folks on board would have gladly paid for an extra hour's fuel and endured another hour in the plane to take the long way around.            No US citizens on board.      http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2014/07/18/mh17-crash-ukraine/12821271/             None.  I assume that aircraft was under EASA (FAA for the EU) regulation since it was flying out of Amsterdam.  If that aircraft ever flew into the US, then it would be under FAA regulation as well.  The FAA has an agreement with EASA that functionally says "whatever they say, we say" and vice versa.  I suspect the FAA could issue advisories to avoid overflying certain areas globally, but I don't think they can regulate it.
  4.   Hmmmm.... grilled mushrooms.  Haven't done that in ages.  My favorite use for Allegro is on chicken.  It is a bit salty, a little more so than Worcestershire but way less than Dales.
  5. Nope, the pen is BLUE!!! :)
  6. I'd try something soaking in something like WD40 then scrubbing with a stiff bristle nylon brush.  No, CLP shouldn't hurt the handles.
  7. Read that a little while ago.  Seems he's been in poor health for quite a while.  Sad to hear.
  8.   Can't speak to Moore's, but either seems to work with Allegro.  An overnight marinade will result in stronger flavor but sitting 15-60 mins before cooking works pretty good too.  If you like the taste, just brush some on after it's cooked.
  9.     Which functionally means they must be posted.  Previously, Knoxville used their pre 1986 ordinance as an excuse to not spend money updating signage.  This takes away that excuse.
  10.     I've never seen Moore's but will look for it.  Allegro is at Kroger and Food City, not sure about walmart....  Ok, their web site says yes at walmart.   http://www.allegromarinade.com/products   And I see they have BBQ sauce, may have to try that too.    The only catch to Allegro is that the stuff is like water and the bottle has a large opening so it comes out REAL fast.  If you're not careful, you can end up with half a bottle in your lap.  Not that I'd know that from experience or anything....
  11. Welcome back.  Don't let the stupid laws bum you out.  They're less of an inconvenience than you might think.
  12. Don't violate traffic laws and you won't get pulled over.  Though "unsafe lane change" sounds like either she swerved across several lanes or that cop was really bored.
  13. Yep.  Too much overhead and/or not enough volume to compete.  Capitalism and/or a market economy at work.  Blaming the customer is a classy parting shot.  :shake:
  14. If golf carts were more like this one, I'd be more apt to ride in one... :) http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TUDX5MmulF0
  15.     Allegro....   Ever tried their "hot & spicy?"  It's most excellent!
  16. Any knife, any time, anywhere that's not posted.  Katanas and Claymores included.
  17.         This is what I do ^.    Season however I see fit at the time, wrap in foil and bake in the oven at 225 for about 4 hrs.  Then pull them out an caramelize them on the grill for a few minutes.  Sometimes getting them on/off the grill without them falling apart can be a quite a challenge.  Ribs are one thing I've never cooked on my smoker.  Dad did some on his a couple times and they always came out really dry.  I think I know how to fix that but just haven't tried yet.     And to add, the above is for pork ribs.  Don't recall that I've ever cooked beef ribs.
  18. I agree with OS.  They don't really cost you anything just sitting there, but could cost a small fortune to replace later.
  19. I think the awesome meter just exploded.
  20.   Yep.  They'll win because they've got more experience.
  21.     +1.  Really, even 1/2 lb makes a pretty good boom.    Since you're using tannerite and melons, I presume balloons with some flour in them would be permissible as well?  Just thinking of some "reactive" targets.    When time comes to kill the watermelon, have them line up and shoot one shot down the line until someone wins the "prize".  Do that around dusk if you can for the fireball effect.
  22.   So you're saying he's a politician....
  23. Clearly the definition of "hot" is highly subjective.  Stuff that I would say has flavor but wasn't real hot would make my mother-in-law's head explode (which gives me an idea....    ).  I had wings at one of the wing places (I forget which) that had a mango habanero sauce that I thought was quite hot, but was very good.  I had to take a little break in the middle of the plate, but I ate them.  I've eaten sliced habaneros and that was about as hot as I can stand.  I've had Hooter's 3 Mile Island wings and thought they were terrible.  Just hot, no flavor.  I'm not a fan of the "buffalo" type sauces.  I also don't like hot Indian food... a little curry goes a long way for me.  I've had hot Thai food and thought it was good.  I'm going to have to try this much revered "hot chicken" at some point.
  24. I have little kids so I wouldn't let them into my house.  I also don't have a land line and wouldn't hand a stranger my cell phone, so that guy would be pretty much SOL.  I try to be a nice guy, but anything further would depend on the vibe... if the guy or the situation seemed shady, he'd be encouraged to be on his way.  There's a gas station less than 1/2 mile up the road, maybe they can help you out.
