  1. Dad was given an old leatherman with broken pliers.  It belonged to his brother-in-law who passed away several years ago.  He sent it back for repair and they sent him a new one since they don't make that model anymore.
  2.     Make darn sure your jars and lids are clean and sanitized.  I suggest you do the canning (pressure or water bath) outside (grill, turkey fryer, fire pit, etc.).  A great big pot of boiling water on the stove for a couple hours will have your AC working hard to keep up this time of year, and if you have an "oops", it's easier to clean up.    http://www.motherearthnews.com/real-food/water-bath-pressure-canning-zecz11zsmi.aspx#axzz38NwhqHoM
  3. A HBAR 20" wouldn't be legal by both length and profile. But as mentioned, I bet they'd let you shoot it for no points if that's all you've got. http://www.odcmp.com/competitions/rulebook.pdf .
  4. Didn't realize he was that bad. Isn't he require by law to address NFA paperwork within a fairly short time period?
  5. My parents had a feature like this on their home phone several years ago. It was exceptionally annoying as it would not recognize mobile numbers. Having no land line, every time I called I had to go through the routine. The other features of google voice sound pretty interesting.
  6. If you want a plastic butt plate, I'd try HDPE or PET.  Nylon, delrin, UHMW, or PTFE (teflon) might also work.
  7. If the number isn't in my contact list and/or I'm not expecting a call, I don't answer it.  Ever.  If it's important, leave a message.  If it's not important enough to leave a message, I probably didn't want to talk to you anyway.
  8. What sort of belt do you have?  You might try gluing some felt to the back of the holster.
  9.   Indeed.  I'd never shot a Garand before and that was really cool.... even if I did break it.  :ugh:
  10. That sucks.  Some nice axes in there... vintage Explorer, autographed Vai, Gibson doubleneck...  :shake:   Hope they're recovered or at least hope the guy has insurance.
  11. ORSA has several matches, but I'm not a participant.  http://www.orsahp.com/
  12. Same thread here btw...   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/80377-%E2%80%98guns-are-welcome%E2%80%99-one-restaurant-bucked-a-trend-%E2%80%94-here%E2%80%99s-what-happened-next/
  13. I had a collections guy call many times looking for the prior holder of my land line number.  Both the collections guy whoever he was looking for appeared to be real schmucks.  We got calls from the guy's kid's doctors to discuss test results and medications, calls from the schools to say the kid wasn't there that day, ... all sorts of stuff.  The collections guy called a bunch of times over the course of several years.  After telling them repeatedly that they had the wrong number, my typical method was to just stick the phone in a drawer and leave it there for a while.  After the collections guy left a series of increasingly nasty and threatening voicemails, I finally called back one day and we had a little chat.  Never heard from them again.
  14. Welcome!
  15. Wife told me about that the other day.  Never been there but might have to give it a try.
  16. I'd talk to someone at your phone service provider.  You should be able to block the calls.
  17. I exercise my rights quite routinely. I'm just not the guy who needs to flaunt it and hope for some attention. I think the best case scenario is when no one notices.
  18. Tomatoes, lots and lots of tomatoes. Not enough cucumbers to make pickles this year. I'm sure we'll eat all the okra too. Gonna get some corn from the local farm to freeze. Also got a couple gallons of blueberries from my parents. Wife made strawberry, blueberry, and peach jam.
  19. No, we really don't. If it doesn't go well, we all end up paying the price.
  20. If you do the lamp thing, which is a cool idea, you should give it back as a gift.
  21. Are the soles sewn on or glued? If they're glued, it's not too hard to DIY.
  22. Yep. Well said. Life gets pretty sucky from time to time, hang in there. The bad helps you appreciate the good.
  23.   I'm a mosquito magnet too.  Sounds like I need to get one.
  24. I like to think my dog would've gone bonkers too.  I had a dog door in a previous house but it had a locking plate that fit over the flap to help prevent such things.  Certainly not super secure, but better than nothing.
  25. I've since been told that both the FAA and EASA issued "no fly" zones over the Crimean region several months ago, but the no fly zones didn't extend this far north and the plane was at an altitude that was considered "safe".    http://en.ria.ru/world/20140718/191000727/FAA-Expands-No-Fly-Zone-for-US-Airlines-to-East-Ukraine.html
