  1. If you're confident you can get the 1st round on target under duress, I don't see that it's anything other than personal preference.
  2. LCP - Make sure the mags were inserted properly.  Make sure your hand isn't rubbing on the slide and slowing it down during operation.  Make sure you've got a firm hold on the pistol, little guns are more sensitive to limp-wristing than larger ones.    G19 - brass to the face isn't unusual.  I don't own one but a friend's did that.  Some say it's worn mags, some say worn extractors, some say dirty gun, some say limp wristing, ...
  3.     It never would have gotten that far with my parents either.  I recall having a fit while getting a haircut as a child.  After a brief trip back to the truck with Dad, I climbed back in barber's chair and got my hair cut without making another sound.  :stare:
  4.       Do you really think the mom learned anything?  I don't.  All she probably did was drag the screaming kid to the car while swearing like a sailor to whoever was on the other end of the phone call about what that guy did.  Wonder where the kid learned to behave that way?   Did anyone tell the kid that he won't get a pie unless he shuts his yap?  Nope.  Maybe I'm being too cynical again, but I think the point was completely lost.  All the kid knows is the store ran out of pies.  A child is not going to make the connection that his behavior resulted in not getting a pie unless someone (the parent) points that out in a somewhat calm and rational manner.  I strongly doubt that's what happened after the guy left.   Don't get me wrong, what the guy did is pretty dang funny.  I just don't think he accomplished anything good other than giving his coworkers a free dose of diabetic coma.

I'm intrigued and flattered.  Unfortunately you're a tad far away for lessons.
  6. A strange situation indeed.  I think you did the best you could.   Shooting back probably would have escalated the situation.  They likely had access to more firepower than you.  Bugging out seems like the best choice.
  7. I don't always shoot semi's but when I do, I prefer striker fired.  :)

   I'd like to learn to play the harmonica.
  9. Nice try, but there is no lesson there.  Just pissed the mom off and she takes it out on the kid.  You can't teach polite behavior by being selfish yourself.  All that kid learned is yet more selfishness.
  10. I thought all they did was say kids at private universities could unionize and attempt to get paid?
  11.   FTFY...
  12.     Journalism in the Knoxville Sentinel?
  13. Thanks. That is pretty darn ugly. I've found peep sights to be much easier to use than blade sights.
  14. Welcome!
  15. Nice.  Got any "before" pics?
  16. We got one for my 6 yr old for Christmas last year.  The first one was a tiny little quad rotor.  It wasn't assembled properly was uncontrollable when we got it.  Once we got that sorted, the 3 minute battery life made learning how to fly it pretty difficult so we traded it for a normal helicopter (I forget the name) which he's much happier with.  He's gotten reasonably good at it, though it's somewhat hard to manage flying around our living room.  It's listed as "indoor only"... the one time I let him fly it outside, I had to climb up on the roof to retrieve it.  It would be best to fly around somewhere like a gym.
  17. I've done my fair share of stupid crap, but stuff can certainly go sideways. When I was in college, a couple drunk guys were messing with a potato gun near campus. They shot one into the air. When it came down, it hit a guy walking back from class. He lost an eye. They went to jail and their fraternity was disbanded.
  18. Dood... that's awesome. Needs a custom leather sheath.
  19. I don't own one, but I'd suggest leaving it mostly filled up and hanging it up in the garage.  I'd keep it out of the weather, direct sunlight, and really hot temps (like the attic).
  20. If you haven't washed it off.... do so immediately!  Eggs will eat the paint....  AMHIK.
  21.     Having gone from apt to house, back to apt, and back to house again...  Houses are expensive but apt's suck.  The rent in a decent apt is the same or more than my mortgage payment.    And 2 cycle engines weren't nearly so finicky before ethanol.  My chainsaw is 30 years old and still runs fine.
  22. Taurus PT145 loaded = 29.5 oz + spare mag = 32.2 oz + holster and mag pouch = 45.5 oz Or P3AT loaded = 11.6 oz + pocket holster = 12.8 oz + spare mag = 16.6 oz
  23.     No, clearly it's not worth it.  Especially not when I think about the hundreds of dollars and many, many hours I've spent trying to fix the damage its caused to my motorcycle.  And now the carb in one of my mowers is dying.    Only the government would be so naive as to think adding some miracle snake oil to fuel (that itself is horribly inefficient to produce) would fix anything.

http://www.spiders.us/species/filter/tennessee/   They're good spiders to have around.  They eat lots of other less desirable critters.
