  1. Exactly. I've thought about getting an MBA as a way out of my current dead-end job (yes, a dead-end job in engineering) but it's way too expensive to justify and I don't really want to go into management anyway.
  2. Nice work on all accounts.
  3.     I should rephrase that and say "corporate anything".  Businesses are run in the same asinine way all over the world.  Know your enemy.
  4. We've got Sprint and have been happy.  I think it costs too much, but I can say that about lots of things.
  5. You'll have to watch the ejection pattern of semi-autos so you don't get brass in the face.
  6.     I do too.  Not cheap, but worth it.
  7.     http://www.tech-sights.com/ak.htm
  8. Could be soldered on which would require heating with a MAPP or acetylene torch to remove.  Propane typically isn't hot enough.
  9. Try them both and see which you like best.  For me, it's the XDS.  I don't like the small Glocks, they don't fit my hand very well.  The G19 is the only Glock I particularly like.
  10.     Agreed.  Salesmanship is more important in engineering than most might think.  Whether pitching your idea to your boss, the technicians doing the work, or a potential customer, being able to communicate your thoughts in a clear and intelligent manner in both written and spoken format is crucial.    I also strongly recommend you take any course you might think is interesting, regardless of what it is (music, history, welding, whatever...).  Once you're a full time student, extra classes cost you nothing but time.  Contrary to what you might think, you have lots of that and there's no better time to learn new stuff.  If you don't want worry about a grade, audit the class.  If you don't have the listed pre-requisities, talk to the professor and see if they'll let you sit in anyway.  I was never turned down and wish I'd taken a few more.    If you intend to get a job in "corporate America" I also strongly recommend you take a finance and accounting class.  The bean counters run the world... its in your best interest to have some understanding of how that world works (and it'll blow your mind).
  11.     Clearly they're succeeding on all fronts.
  12.     FTW!
  13. Yep, gotta be a member there to see the pics.
  14. Nope, just a regular PB sandwich on bread with a layer of noodles for crunch. Typically only done when crunchy PB wasn't available. I don't like creamy PB.
  15. Reminds me of the Spike's Zombie lowers, which I always found amusing.
  16. Ramen noodles themselves are pretty good, it's the flavor packet that'll kill you.  It's nothing but a big package of salt and goes straight in the trash.  Used to eat PB and ramen noodle sandwiches in college, sometimes with a few Doritos for added flavor.  :)  My wife makes a salad that uses the plain noodles and it's yummy.
  17. .30-06, .300 WSM, .300 Win Mag, 7mm mag, ....   Not a great deal of difference.    Like with most things, it's more about shot placement than anything else.  Once you get it dialed in, all of them would work fine at 600+ yds assuming you put the bullet on target.    If you're really worried about it, just get a .338 Lapua or .375 H&H.
  18. What's the intended target?  Paper or critter?
  19. I'm also a strong proponent of getting into a transfer program at a community college. It's a great way to save a lot of money. I also strongly recommend you get an internship/co-op job after the 2nd year. It's nearly compulsory to get a job after graduation and doing so fairly early gives you some exposure to what you're in for before you get too far down the road to change.
  20. You should deliver those to me immediately so I can test them and make sure they weren't damaged!
  21.   A roommate of mine had a cool poster ....  was a pic of a hot chick in a Wonderbra with the caption "Engineering 101".   This was back when the Wonderbra was a new thing.  When Dad came to visit he stopped in front of the poster, admired for a minute, said "indeed", and moved on.  :)
  22. According to my mom, you should plant most any sort of typical decorative plants...  daylilies, liriope, hydrangeas, ... the deer will eat them to the ground every night.
  23. For me the first question is concealment....  pocket, IWB or OWB.  Different shirts depending on that.    Dropped the whole rig?  Yep, once.  Thankfully where it's carpeted so there wasn't any damage.  Yes, it's always holster on belt, then gun in holster.
  24. 7x57 is quite a starter rifle. Of not Predator, lawenforcementsalestn here can probably do it as well.
  25. Ah. So thanks for your opinion, now f_ off. People need to learn to keep their trap shut.
