  1. A friend told me about this stuff.... Mil-Comm TW25B.  The fact that it comes in the re-closeable syringe with a small tip is great.  It allows you to dispense a very small amount and get it into tight spots without making a mess.  I'm told one syringe is a multi-year supply since you don't waste much.    http://www.amazon.com/Mil-Comm-TW25B-Grease-Reclosable-Syringe/dp/B000UTOVX8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1408627715&sr=8-2&keywords=milcomm+tw25b
  2. .17 HMR and 105mm Howitzer...
  3. I foresee an addition to the "look what I did to my finger" thread.
  4.     Cleaned prior to your ownership... likely never.  Taking the bolt apart isn't part of the standard "field strip" so it wouldn't get done unless there was a reason, such as slam firing.  I've never taken mine apart.  I try to remember to make sure the pin moves freely before shooting it, but that's about it.
  5.     Its important to start out with good grades.  The more class hours you accumulate, the less impact any one class will have on your GPA.  If you start out with a high GPA, it's much easier to keep it than it is to bring it up if you start poorly.  It's also important to distinguish between the important classes where you really need to thoroughly understand the material and those "check-the-box" classes.
  6. #400!  :woohoo:
  7. A quick scan of the lottery related scholarship stuff doesn't seem to show any sort of age restrictions.  Most appear to be based on high school GPA and/or ACT/SAT test scores.  It might be a bit of a challenge coming up with that information if it's been a while, but schools are required to keep those records forever.    http://www.tn.gov/collegepays/mon_college.htm   http://www.finaid.org/otheraid/nontraditional.phtml
  8.     Good point.  The firing pin in the SKS should be loose.  There is no spring, so if it's stuck the rifle may slam fire.
  9. It might be too late at this point.... but if GA has a lower tax rate on cars, get the dealer to see if there is reciprocity agreement between TN and GA.    I bought a car from my uncle in MI (dealer at the time) a number of years ago.  I paid MI sales tax when I bought the car.  When I registered it in TN, I gave the clerk a copy of the form/BOS stating I'd paid the sales tax in MI when I bought it, so I did not have pay any TN tax.  Saved me a few hundred $$.
  10. While checking headspace is never a bad idea... I wouldn't worry about it.  Both of those guns are built like tanks so you're likely to see headspace issues manifest in poor function or accuracy.
  11. Exactly. I've thought about getting an MBA as a way out of my current dead-end job (yes, a dead-end job in engineering) but it's way too expensive to justify and I don't really want to go into management anyway.
  12. Nice work on all accounts.
  13.     I should rephrase that and say "corporate anything".  Businesses are run in the same asinine way all over the world.  Know your enemy.
  14. We've got Sprint and have been happy.  I think it costs too much, but I can say that about lots of things.
  15. You'll have to watch the ejection pattern of semi-autos so you don't get brass in the face.
  16.     I do too.  Not cheap, but worth it.

  18. Could be soldered on which would require heating with a MAPP or acetylene torch to remove.  Propane typically isn't hot enough.
  19. Try them both and see which you like best.  For me, it's the XDS.  I don't like the small Glocks, they don't fit my hand very well.  The G19 is the only Glock I particularly like.
  20.     Agreed.  Salesmanship is more important in engineering than most might think.  Whether pitching your idea to your boss, the technicians doing the work, or a potential customer, being able to communicate your thoughts in a clear and intelligent manner in both written and spoken format is crucial.    I also strongly recommend you take any course you might think is interesting, regardless of what it is (music, history, welding, whatever...).  Once you're a full time student, extra classes cost you nothing but time.  Contrary to what you might think, you have lots of that and there's no better time to learn new stuff.  If you don't want worry about a grade, audit the class.  If you don't have the listed pre-requisities, talk to the professor and see if they'll let you sit in anyway.  I was never turned down and wish I'd taken a few more.    If you intend to get a job in "corporate America" I also strongly recommend you take a finance and accounting class.  The bean counters run the world... its in your best interest to have some understanding of how that world works (and it'll blow your mind).
  21.     Clearly they're succeeding on all fronts.
  22.     FTW!
  23. Yep, gotta be a member there to see the pics.
  24. Nope, just a regular PB sandwich on bread with a layer of noodles for crunch. Typically only done when crunchy PB wasn't available. I don't like creamy PB.
  25. Reminds me of the Spike's Zombie lowers, which I always found amusing.
