  1. No structural damage whatsoever. The airplane is quite capable. Simply landing puts more stress on the airframe than a barrel roll. Here's its predecessor doing one in 1955. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AaA7kPfC5Hk
  2. Nice. Looks like it's working quite well and should do everything you need. I've considered adding some solar generation to my house, but last I checked the payback was much too long.  As prices continue to fall and efficiency improves, it might be worth another look in a few years.

  4. No more caliber debates?!?!    :panic:
  5. I'd like to go.  Need to get a sling installed on my .22 rifle.  And buy some ammo for it...
  6. Is it really a fuse box, or does it have breakers? Fuses: Breakers: If the house has old style fuses and we already know it has cloth wrapped wiring.... If this is a place you intend to live in for any length of time, I'd call an electrician and get the whole house rewired. The cloth wire insulation dries out over time and can become a fire hazard.
  7. Wow.  Hope you guys were able to get some sleep after that.
  8. Step 1 is to figure out which is the hot wire, there should be only one wire in one box that's hot with everything disconnected.  My guess is that we're working with the wrong box.    It might be worth running to walmart and getting a 50ft spool of insulated wire (speaker wire, whatever) to help figure out which wire is which... should be less than $10.      And as for 3 and 4-way switches making you cuss.... yes, yes they do.  I'm pretty sure the plumber wired my house.
  9. Not me. Cool gun tho... Next... the moon.
  10. Something is hosed here.... I'd disconnect both switches and use the voltmeter to first determine which wire is the incoming hot wire. If you've got a length of any sort of wire that will reach from one switch to the other, you can use the continuity feature in the voltmeter to find the ends of the same wire (breaker off!). Once you know which wire is which, wire it up just like the diagram.
  11. Per nightrunner's reply... you've got the white wire in the wrong place, it should be connected where the black screw is. Swap the white and black wires in this pic so the white wire is at the terminal with the black screw.
  12. I assume file photos (taken by me) are ok? Next, a picture with water.
  13. Nice hat.  :)
  14. Nah, it's copper.  The bullets would blow any surface rust out of it.  Don't worry about it.  You'll do more harm than good trying to get that last little bit out of it.
  15. Depends on how obvious and accessible the cameras are.  Personally, I want relatively hidden cameras and a small sign that says "Smile, you're on camera."
  16.     Yep. Generally more trouble than it's worth, and it's possible to do more harm than good.  Some barrels even shoot a little better with some fouling.  It fills in the imperfections.
  17. Welcome!
  18. Got accuracy problem? Of not, it's fine.
  19. I like drag racing, but those guys are morons.  Both of them.  There's so much going wrong there it's hard to know where to start.
  20. Functionally steel is steel. It all expands at the same rate. You can loosen things up with heat, but differential heat is far more effective. If you're working with aluminum or magnesium in particular, there is no outward sign when you've ruined the heat treatment. Magnesium can lose much of its strength when heated to as little as 350 deg, depending on the specific alloy. Both of them do melt "all of a sudden", but they're both completely soft long before you get them that hot.
  21. Like I said above, heat guns are too slow. They heat everything up slowly which doesn't accomplish anything. You need to heat the slide relative to the sight which means putting a torch on the slide and working very quickly before the sight heats up too. You could also dry putting some dry ice on he sight to cool it while heating the slide. That said, isn't there a purpose made sight pusher for XD's?
  22. Yep. Heat and Kroil. Don't put the whole slide in the oven. Heating the whole thing defeats the purpose. You need to heat the slide but minimize the heat applied to the sight. You want the slide to expand more than the sight. Nah. You can heat the slide until it's cherry red and it won't hurt it. It will ruin the finish, but the metal will be fine.
  23. Nothing like that sound. Can't imagine what hundreds of them sounded like. My wife is in San Antonio and said there's a B-17 and B-25 giving rides there.
  24. You'll get it when you get it.  Sometimes 4 days, sometimes 4 weeks.
  25.     Greenback born and raised African-American fish.  I got them from a friend formerly in the fish mongering business.
