  1.     I've read a number of comments that said it was better to let them be hungry rather than clean up the mess left from those.     Having someone come over and feed them a couple times shouldn't be a big deal.
  2. What's the saying ....   Better to have people think you're a bigot than open your mouth and prove it.
  3.     I've been reading a lot to that effect as well.  If I can get someone to come over and feed them a couple times during the week, it seems that should suffice.  I do have one tiny little fish that I have some concern for.  I plan to give it a good vacuuming, which will result in another 5 gal water change a couple days before leaving.
  4. Cool. Thanky.
  5. Given that it's discriminatory and unconstitutional, it won't last long.
  6. Vacation feeding?  We'll be gone for a week in the near future.  Its possible to get someone to come over and feed them, but I'm curious if there's easier/better options?
  7. Yep, dig the patina.  That really sets it off.
  8. While the USPS's existence guaranteed by the Constitution, in 1971 the USPS became an independent agency of the government and is neither taxpayer funded nor under direct governmental control. USPS employees do not work for the federal government. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Postal_Service
  9. Supposedly it takes time. The detergent removes the waxy coating and they dehydrate.
  10. Good point. Though with bow hunting there will be no noise to alert the neighbors. Better make sure you're a good shot.
  11. this is Tennessee...
  12. Congrats! I hope I get to retire one day.
  13. Awesome. You should make a Viking sword. ;)
  14. I agree. Bow hunting should be no issue with permission.
  15. Welcome!
  16. Yep. More than I've ever seen this year.
  17. Panera is good but way over-priced.  Two adult meals and two kid meals was about $45... for lunch!  I'll make a sammich at the house next time, thanks.
  18. I'll be honest and say I've never thought much of Draco's.  This thread is changing my mind. That thing is cool.  I'll be curious to hear the ruling on the pistol/VFG/OAL situation.
  19. If it's rubbing specific spots in your pants, you could put one (or more) of those iron-on patches on the inside of the pants as a wear pad.
  20. If you plan to tow it out of state, it's best to get a tag.  While TN doesn't require trailer tags, several neighboring states do and you can be ticketed for not having a tag there.
  21.     Here's your answer...       There are no negative g's when doing the barrel roll.  Even though the airplane is upside down, the centrifugal force is such that it's always under positive g's (like a corkscrew on a roller coaster) ... Hence Tex's comment about a 1g barrel roll.  If the pilot is really good, it wouldn't even spill a cup of coffee.    Airframes are typically rated for a certain level of positive and negative g's.  The negative g rating is loading is typically about half the positive.  Just flying through significant turbulence can momentarily generate +/- 3g's.    And the hydraulic system is always pressurized. There's very little net flow so cavitation wouldn't be a problem even if it wasn't pressurized.
  22. Welcome!
  23. When I carry both my gun and my fixed blade knife, the knife goes on the left with the spare mag and the gun on the right.  Works for me because I'm left handed but shoot right handed.  Phone goes in the pocket, I don't like wearing a phone on my belt... if its too big to fit in a pocket, it's not a phone anymore IMO.  When I add the BUG to the mix, my pockets do get pretty dang full.  And I'm not a real big person.
  24. Any form of IWB carry is hard on pants, particularly with holsters that leave the muzzle or slide serrations exposed.  How many pairs of pants can you ruin before that $100+ holster pays for itself?
  25. I think the payback for a supplementary system for my house, including selling power back to the utility and the energy smart discounts and such was in the 17 year range. I have little confidence that I'll still be in this house in 17 years so definitely not worth it. There's a house in my neighborhood with several panels on the roof. Either he knows something I don't or he can't do math. :)
