  1. Is it possible you missed this thread?   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/80540-firearms-agitator-still-waiting-to-fight-gun-charge-embody-case/?hl=embody
  2. Cool.  Maybe I'll get to the next one.  How'd you find out about it?
  3.     I think it's just better understanding of the bio-cycle in the tank by both the owners makes of filters, pump, and such.  And maybe Mom was a little too anal about cleaning it.  ;)   I told my friend about my memories of spending an entire day taking all the fish out, draining the tank, scrubbing the tank and all it contents (fish excluded) with a toothbrush, and then putting it all back together.... he looked at me like I had two heads.  I took that as a good sign, unlike when my wife looks at me like that.
  4. We're in the process of getting a 55 gal tank set-up.  A friend of mine who was formerly a breeder of koy and cichlids (among other things) is moving and let us have one of his tanks for a song.  Also getting and handful of fairly large fish, hopefully this week.  The tank itself has been up and running for a week or so, just waiting for a convenient time to introduce the fish.  I haven't had an aquarium since I was little but my kids really seem to like it.  Based on what I'm told, tanks are a lot lower maintenance than they used to be.
  5.     If we continue to do nothing about it, that will certainly be the case.      edit... and I'm not pointing fingers.  I'm as guilty as anyone else.
  6. Add that to the list of reasons not to pre-pay for gas.  Wow.
  7. Heh... Had a roommate one summer in college who locked me out of our room while I was showering 4 or 5 times. Coed dorm too. Thankfully I at least had my towel. Edit... And speaking of open carry.... there were the times when a guy would be walking a girl down the hall and inevitably one of the black guys would exit the shower. The towel around their waist quickly moved to over their shoulder. They'd smile and give a big wave. Good times.
  8. Dad's got two Stihl's.  Both are the Farm Boss, I think.  They're great saws but my only gripe is how much fuel they use.  Seems like you've gotta stop and fill it up every 15 minutes or so.  My little Homelite that Dad bought in about 1980 runs more than twice as long on a tank.
  9. Get youth stocks. I wouldn't lighten the trigger much. Is she using 2 fingers because she can't reach the trigger? If so, the shorter stock will likely cure that.
  10. The "sack tap"... That was the thing for a while at work. Right up until someone got tapped a little harder than they should have and someone else got half a bottle of acetone to the crotch. :)
  11.   For the record, she wasn't on the phone at all.  She just tried to occupy the same space as me by changing lanes while slowing for a traffic light.  I was literally right beside her door.  My peg/boot left a mark in her door as she pushed me over.  It's a good thing there's space between lanes for a motorcycle as a big Ford truck was in the other lane.  When I inquired as to her ability to see, she gave me the finger.
  12.     It looked like it had depth but I thought it might just be an illusion due to the color difference.     Interested?  Heck yeah!  I'm guessing you'd want money in exchange for it though...   I am curious what something like this would cost.  Feel free to PM if you'd rather not post it.
  13. My house and my neighbors house were hit by a few .40 S&W FMJ's a couple years ago.  Thankfully none penetrated our houses.  I heard two hit the brick on the back of my house.  My neighbor found two bullets in his driveway and one hole in the siding.  Seems some folks were shooting 1/4 mile or so away and not using a proper backstop (they were firing into a large wood/brush pile).  Took about a month for the cops to figure out where they were and get it corrected.
  14.               Yep.  In my younger days I learned that carbon/kevlar reinforced riding gloves do a fairly good job of protecting one's hand from high speed impact with car mirrors.
  15. Yet again, cool. Does the etching have any depth to it, or does it just give the appearance of depth?
  16.         They make one now...  http://www.taurususa.com/product-details.cfm?id=758&category=Pistol
  17.     Yep.  And they all weight at least 20 lbs and have bipods or tripods.             Interesting.  First few times I shot a slide-fire AR I only put 5 rounds in the mag until I got used to it.  An Uzi pistol running at nearly double the cyclic rate with a full mag?  Don't know that anyone who's never done it before should try that.    I feel bad for the guy's family.  Not only are they without him now, he's being trashed all over the internet.  I agree that what he did was stupid.  Sometimes stupid hurts.  This time it killed.  Shame...
  18.   The cable need not be particularly big. Tensile strength of 1/8" wire rope is a bit north of 1500 lbs, and you'll have two of them holding it.  Just an idea.
  19. Glad you like it.  My PT145 has been great.
  20. I like that idea. I'd add a spacer so the chain is at least 2-3x the plate thickness behind the plate. The angle will reduce the effective size of the plate slightly, but that just makes it more challenging, right? I know you'll never miss, but you might also consider rope or cable rather than chain, less chance of wild ricochets should I ever shoot at it.
  21. Check this out...  https://www.osti.gov/opennet/manhattan_district.jsp
  22. Be sure they hang at an angle such that any fragments should be directed downward.
  23. Congrats!   Here's a question that will enter your mind once you start working...   Are all machine shop owners assholes, or are all assholes machine shop owners?        Stay diligent to keep your skills fresh.  Modern CNC equipment can quickly turn a machinist into a machine operator.
  24. Glad you got that sorted pretty quickly.  The church I go to is fairly big... 1000-ish typical sunday attendance and full of nice people.  But the pastors and staff try to make it clear that with such a big church, there's no way they can know everything that's going on.  If you need something, speak up.  If you don't involve yourself, its very easy to get lost in the shadows.
