Problems with ProMag brand magazines

No cross bolt of any sort on a VFG? Um, no. -
While overtime can be a bit of a drag, be happy you have the opportunity. Not everyone does. Put the extra cash toward something worthwhile.

Do they still charge 20% more than everywhere else for it?

Exactly. That's a booby trap, and booby traps are illegal. I'd contact the game warden and set up a hidden camera somewhere.

I've seen pics of people being buried on their bike. As for my bucket list... don't really have one. If I did, this might be on it... :)

Classy. :shake:

Just had a Burger King manager want to fight me

Marketing. They assume that so few people will try to make them honor the warranty that the small number of claims will be less than the additional sales they'll get from people buying for that reason.... Expect $5000 in annual claims while increasing sales by $50,000 @ 40% margin. I highly doubt they send the stuff back to the manufacturer, it wouldn't be worth the shipping/handling costs. They just trash them, eat the cost, and laugh all the way to the bank. I can't think of how many times we did that in the house where I grew up. We had one spigot that was in line before the house regulator so it got full line pressure (100 psi or so). We did lots of garden/flowerbed watering and car washing with that hose. A hose would last maybe 2 years before blowing out. They'd make you cut off and bring in both ends of the bad hose (they always blew out near one end). So we'd get a new hose and a repair kit to replace the ends on the old hose. -
I'm trying to talk a couple coworkers into helping me learn to deer hunt this season. They both process it themselves, which is something I want to learn anyway. As for hauling it, if the Tribute has a trailer hitch, get a hitch hauler cargo tray thing. That's what I intend to do with my SUV.

Gun Oils/Lubes- very impressive test-46 products tested

Looks to be the same as this one.... http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/80911-great-evaluation-of-lubes-and-rust-preventatives/ -
Ok, so it wasn't your immediate boss but someone further up the chain with the title "President". Based on your vast experience running similar operations, you told him he doesn't know what he's doing. Can't imagine why he doesn't like you.... Anyway... as you've said, that ship has sailed. Time to sack up* and move on. *sack up... I must lead a sheltered life because I've never heard that before. That's awesome!

Yep. I was in the same boat about a year ago. My boys said they wanted to go fishing. While I had fished when I was a kid, I didn't even own a fishing pole. I chatted with a few coworkers who are avid fishermen and follow their advice. One trip to the sporting goods store, 4 fishing poles, a tackle box kit, a few extra goodies, and a few worms later.... If you're going after a specific type of fish, lets just say the options are nearly endless.

So... your left your prior job with Sprint on less than nice terms and expected to immediately get rehired at another Sprint location nearby? If you've listed the prior job on an application, it's perfectly reasonable (and probably a requirement) for the prospective hiring manager to call your old boss and ask about you. And then, shockingly, the old boss gives the potential new boss a less than glowing review of your performance. Can't imagine why.... What was that about burning bridges again? Yeah.... don't. Now you know why.

Which do you prefer 9mm or 38 special for SD?
peejman replied to RAJBCPA's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
9mm because capacity is typically higher and reloads are less fiddley. "Effectiveness" of the round is moot, hits on target are all that matter. -
Nice to know I'm in good company. :)

Oh... not the "happy ending" I first had in mind.

Tools, parts, and know-how to fix what might break. Fuel. Lots and lots of fuel. Really good mufflers. The world will be a very quiet place in a TEOTWAWKI situation. Remember how quiet it was the evening of 9/11/01? You could hear a car from miles away. That sound will attract attention.

It's this ^ combined with a lack of other complicating factors and seeking treatment early. ... same reason people here still die from the flu. Contrary to what the media likes to present as fact, I think you'd be hard pressed to find many flu deaths that don't include some sort of extenuating circumstances.

New to canning and have some supply questions
peejman replied to Luke E.'s topic in Survival and Preparedness
Agreed. I get their emails and they typically have pretty good stuff when it comes to gardening or simply DIY type stuff. When they try to talk about anything technical.... -

http://www.motherearthnews.com/real-food/canning.aspx#axzz3Ggh0j4Cc You might keep an eye out for garage sales and/or estate auctions. I've heard of folks finding someone one cleaning out grandma's old house and effectively giving away boxes of canning related stuff. -
K98's are excellent rifles. One with no import marks is probably worth a bit more. Keep in mind that most surplus ammo is corrosive, but otherwise shoot it as much as your shoulder can handle. It's a cannon.

I presume that's illegal in the UK just like it is here. Their version of the Feds will be along shortly in sure.

I was sorely tempted by one of those, but I think I'd really rather have a PAP AK. Good to hear a nice review of one.

Pretty much this and what dolomite said about water (which is one area in which I'm lacking). Access to clean drinking water will be a big deal.

It would take high powered rifle esque power to come close to penetrating those tanks. The walls in the big tanks are upwards of 4" thick acrylic. There would be more risk of ricochets than anything else. And I agree, that level of security is absurd. Makes me wonder if there's a particular reason why, other than being in the middle of the cesspool that is downtown Atlanta.
